  1. @Joedirt199, Well, I'm using Winchester Small Pistols and Federal brass too so I'll have to give ACME at try! I had the same thing happen for a few shots - exact same velocity making me think my Chrony was malfunctioning!
  2. Holy Cow! ES 7 and SD 3! What primer are you using?
  3. Here's what I've been shooting in my Beretta 92G... FOR SCIENCE! Bullet: Blue Bullet 125 gr. RN (.3555)Powder: Alliant Sport Pistol 4.0Primer: Winchester Small PistolCase: FederalOAL: 1.130Average Velocity: 1038.04 fpsES: 18.69SD: 6.00
  4. I picked up mine a few days ago. I've almost got the sights regulated - just a little more drift adjustment on the rear. It was shooting about three inches to the right (for me) but I'm almost there. Feels pretty much like a 1911...
  5. My gun above was built by Springer Precision and has a Bar-Sto Barrel and Springer 3-port compensator.
  6. Just trying to help! "I don't want to make Major PF or anything crazy. I just want the gun to cycle reliably, and it will be used occasionally for local steel matches."
  7. I prefer lighter bullets in my XDm 5.25. All these loads loads lock the slide back - even one handed. 14 lb. Wolff Recoil Spring Bullet: Sierra 90 gr. JHP Powder: Hodgdon CFE Pistol 6.0 grs. 8. I didn't get to do any chronograph work but 5.4 grs. of SP under a 200 gr. X-Treme was still a little zippier than I like. I'll go down to 5.0 grs. next time. I found it works great in my S&W 625-8! In the S&W 625-8 at 30 feet (eighteen rounds). Bullet: Hornady 185 gr. Z-Max (with cannelure) Powder: Alliant Sport Pistol 6.05 grs. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Winchester .45 ACP OAL: 1.265
  9. I was using this combination last night in my S&W 625-8 with full moon clips. I originally loaded them for my Trophy Match but decided to use them in the revolver. Full power for sure in a 1911! I've already loaded some more over 5.4 grs. for the Springfield Trophy Match (will try to check the velocity on both charges this weekend) Bullet: X-Treme 200 gr RN Powder: Alliant Sport Pistol 6.0 gr. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Winchester OAL: 1.250
  10. LOL! Taran Combat Masters are NICE! Love mine!
  11. I'm really liking Sport Pistol! I've been using it in my 9mm's, .38 Super, 40 S&Ws and last night I found out it works great in my .45 ACP! My 9mm load. Bullet: Blue Bullet 125 gr. 12. I mostly use SR4756 in my .38 Super but here is one load I tried in my Glock 17L. Bullet: Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP Powder: IMR SR-4756 5.7 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Pistol Case: Federal LOAL: 1.090 (.825 with Stoney Point)
  13. From a Glock 17L with Lone Wolf Barrel. Power Pistol works great and the bang/flash just isn't there at this pressure level. Bullet: Bullet Works 147 gr. 14. I was trying this load in my Taran Glock 34 and I'm going to stick with it! Mild recoil, clean shooting, and SP doesn't heat up the barrel like Titegroup! Bullets: Precision Delta 124 gr. JHP Powder: Alliant Sport Pistol 4.0 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Winchester OAL: 1.115 Comments: Used 15 lb. ISMI recoil spring but 13 lb. would probably work better.
  15. This load is pretty soft shooting... Bullet: Blue Bullets 230 gr. RNFP (Polymer Coated/.452) Powder: VihtaVuori N310 3.5 grs. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Remington LOAL: 1.250 Recoil Spring: 15 lbs. (no buffer)

  17. Did some chronograph work today (72 degrees F) comparing Titegroup and Sport Pistol in my factory STI Edge. Bullet: X-Treme 200 gr. RNFP Plated Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 4.0 grs. 18. I'm kind of partial to the Jager Polymer Guide Rods with ISMI Recoil Springs myself! http://jagerproducts.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=38 http://jagerproducts.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=35 17 lb. for +P 15 lb. for general practice loads 13 lb. for the light stuff
  19. @Rnlinebacker Thanks! I was hoping that would be the case!
  20. After trying 200 gr. plated bullets in my STI Edge 40 S&W I started having problems with the slide locking back (with ammo still in the magazines). I thought maybe the bullets were hitting the slide stop and pushing it up so I tried seating them deeper (1.160 vs 1.180). That had no effect so I started marking any magazine that had a jam and setting them aside. When I measured the feeding lips on the magazines they were all in the right range so I was getting stumped! I noticed that all the jams had cartridges partially extending from the magazine (about half way along the feed lips) but in front of the extractor. I started to suspect maybe seating from 1.160 - 1.180 was allowing the ammo to bounce around slightly in the magazines and jump the feed lips so I tried seating the bullets out. I seated the X-Treme 200 out to 1.190 and the Rainier 200 to 1.200 and it worked! I like the recoil impulse of the 200 gr. bullets but the 180s are pretty close - so I don't know if I'll stick with the heavier bullets. I got a good deal on the Rainiers (they went out of business and were on sale) but the X-Tremes are kind of pricey! Except for the weird odor, coated bullets are still the best bargain. I'll probably have to adjust the powder charge (maybe) but the chronograph will let me know. Here's what I was getting at the shorter OAL. Bullet: X-Treme 200 gr. RNFP Plated Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 4.0 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Pistol Case: Remington LOAL: 1.180 Avg. Vel.: 839.21 fps ES: 35.24 SD: 11.61 PF: 167 Recoil Spring: Tool-less guide rod, 14 lb. Vel.: 889.67 fps ES: 38.07 SD: 12.40 PF: 178 Recoil Spring: Tool-less guide rod, 14 lb. Recoil Spring & Aluma Buffer Pad
  21. I've been comparing Alliant Sport Pistol to the N320 load I normally use and I think I'm going to switch to SP! I set some aside for chronographing - it's just too hot outside for my usual testing. Bullet: Precision Delta 115 gr. JHP Powder: VihtaVuori N320 5.4 grs. Primer: Winchester Small Pistol Case: Starline .38 Super +P (Sized with Lee U-Die) LOAL: 1.245 (0.965 with Stoney Point) Recoil Spring: Dawson tool-less guide rod, 12 lb. Recoil Spring and Buffer Pad.
  22. I gave Sport Pistol a try today in my Edge. It's just my opinion but it I think it shoots softer and cooler than Titegroup with slightly less soot on the gun. Very accurate at 25 yards too. Can't wait to try it with some FMJs. I was really surprised how much softer my 40 S&W Edge felt compared to my .38 Super Edge. I was shooting SIG .38 Super 125 gr FMJ factory loads in the Super with a 12 lb. recoil spring and Wilson Shok Buf. Bullet: BBI 180 gr. FP Powder: Alliant Sport Pistol 4.7 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol Case: Remington (Regular Lee Die) LOAL: 1.180 Recoil Spring: Tool-less guide rod, 14 lb. Recoil Spring & Aluma Buffer Pad
  23. Here are a few loads that worked really well in my old Glock 17L with a Lone Wolf Barrel - it's got a long throat too. Bullet: Precision Delta 147 gr. FMJ-RN Powder: Winchester WSF 4.2 grs.
