  1. Mr Kelley, Can you please explain or expand last paragraph especially the "little pre-loading of the forearm, forgive the ignorance. Thanks
  2. I have a 1301 and it's almost the issue with the serial#, although I use load 2 strong hand so it's not that bad, most likely it will be modified same as the 1301. Since it's a 3.5" chamber, is it safe to say that the port of the a400 is more generous? Btw, big thanks for all the effort Francis
  3. Thanks for taking the time, I have both the 1301 and M2, so the SBE and A400 are 3.5 version, you are more technically have the know than me, would appreciate your opinion on this. Like I said my concern with the A400 is the loading port. 80% on this gun will be for Ipsc/3gun, and 20%informal trap, no hunting on this
  4. Up North we are limited to 5rnds (SEMI) of the longest shell the SG is chambered, so the 3.5" will at least take 7 rnds of 2 3/4, a round more the 3" chamberSG. Im interested with these 2 SG models only ( No VM) Both are 3.5" chambered, prices are very close and reputation are almost at par Handled both SG at Cabelas and Bass Pro although the A400 is heavier and bulkier it seems to swing and balance nicely, the SBE on the other hand is lighter and slimmer. My concern is more on the modification that can be done on the A400 especially on the loading port area, there are 2 pins on both side of the loading port are, I beleive the pins are for the bolt release lever and shell stop lever. these 2 pins might limit on how far the loading port can be lowered. any feed back , opinions and experience would be very helpful. especially on actual shooting handling, reliability and ease of modification. by the way its for IPSC/ 3gun and ocassionally trap too. Thanks
  5. what a good time for my questions and concerns, Here up North the legal mag capacity for a SG is 5 rnds, or shall we say (5.9) for the longest shell its chambered. Although I love my 1301 and happy with it, I can only put 6 rnds of 2 3/4 since it has only 3" chamberr. My initial plan is to get the Beretta A400 Extreme 26"or the SBEII 24 or 26", please share your ideas To the Op, no intention to hijack your trade.
  6. Thanks , just a folllow up question, How many 2 3/4" and 3.5" will fit in the factory mag.
  7. I was looking at Nordic site for mag extension for the A400 Exteme, One model says it will fit for the Novas, 1301 and A400 Extreme, just a little bit concern since the Extreme uses a (B-Lock ) mag cap on it. Any thoughts on this? Thanks
  8. Tried to tighten the screws but still have some movement on the forearms, from the factory does Benelli apply some thread locker on the forearm screw? just want to make sure it wont out. thanks
  9. Another question guys, maybe because of old habits,I hold my 1301 ( forearm) firm and apply pressure like pulling the gun to my shoulder, with the SN while doing this I cant seem to open the action ( after firing) like its jam unless I push the forearm a little bit forward. Even when the action is close there is some movement of the forearm. Normal and can be modified? thanks again.
  10. went to the range to try my new SN on the weekend, happy to say that it works 100%, shoots a litttle bit low about an inch, the windage was perfect, ( federal Truball light recoil slugs) and groups about an inch @ 25yrds, unfortunately never had the chance to try at 50-75 yrds. The only negative about it has nothing to do with the gun itself, but me the operator, as mentioned in my earlier post, I am only 5'6" with average reach, pulling the action is not much of a problem, but its when pushing the action back to close. A lot of experience SN user here cut forearms to facilitate quadloading, which I plan of doing in the future, however by cutting/ shorten it, it will leave no more forearm/space to hold since I cant put my hand on the front portion of the action. also need to reduce the diameter of the forearm. I have to come up with something, either shorten the stock which I already did by installing the .5" gel pad. Almost impossible here, no gunsmith can do it or will do it. My 1301 has the same LOP (13.75"), but I dont need to manipulate any action, so its fine, For a pump action, the 12.5-13" is the right LOP for me. Any recommendation or thoughts is appreciated.
  11. Any estimate for the round count?
  12. Just a follow up question. what choke constriction do you use for slugs, Is it safe to use LM? want to keep 1 choke for all around choke.
  13. surprise surprise, My SN 24" arrived yesterday, expecting it not be here till next 4 weeks, but got lucky I guess, Its a heavy gun, well Im used now with my 1301 21" which weighs nothing. Just a few first impressions of the gun from the box, the action is not super smooth, find the forearm rattles a bit side to side, it feels that it does not fully lock to front and rear of the receiver,is this normal? considering its new, any remedy for this, first on the list to be enhance Next is the trigger, is not the best, second on my list. The loading port is not really bad, I can still twin with the same speed as my modified port of my 1301. Because Im on the short side of a guy, 5'6" with average arms lenght, will look for a smith here who can improved my reach or reduce the action, if its possible to do. luckily I have a spare gel pad ( thinnest) which help a liitle bit, reduce the LOP to 13.75". kindly share your thoughts
  14. With a plus 5 ext. do you use the bbl clamp or recommend it?
  15. Thanks for all your feedbacks and pics
  16. Dan, a plus 6 mag tube? thanks
  17. Lead-Head, Am I correct to say that the +6 mag tube will make it 10+1? , and will extend a little bit pass the 24" bbl ? thanks
  18. DEP44, Thanks for the pics, the picture is very helpful for my decision
  19. Hi there, My SN is still on order and while waiting for 6-8 weeks to arrive , I might as well start inquiring about its accesoories and modificaton and some enhancement you can suggest. from the factory, whats the mag capacity for 2 3/4 shells, would like to get 10+1 of 2 3/4 shells as possible, planning to install extended mag tube, but would prefer something that will have a flush fit with the 24" bbl. if its not much of a inconveneince, hope you can post some pics of a SN with mag extension of plus 4,plus 5 and plus 6 and with its total shell capacity. Thanks
  20. Thanks for all your inputs, my 1301 and M2 can only take 6 rnds of 2 3/4, the SV can go for 7 that's why I am curious about the SV
  21. Debating which one to get, First of all,by law we are limited to 5 or would say 5.9 rnds mag capacity for the longest shell it chambered. The Super Vinci has the plus side on this , I beleive it can go as 7 rnds of 2 3/4 and 5.9 of 3 1/2 which is in the max limit. The Vinci is chambered in 3" so the max I can go for the 2 3/4 is only 6. but which has the SPEED BOLT FEATURES which by honesty have no idea what it is, hopefully you can enlighten me on this feature. by the way its for IPSC AND 3GUN TYPE OF FUN
  22. Thanks you sir for the tips, very helpfull for us newbies
  23. Op, can you still move the rear notch for windage? In the pics, it looks like the rear blade was cut to fit on the rib.
  24. LOL, actually my other shotgun is soooo bastardized that I have 2 dovetail cut for the front, and 3 cuts for the rear, lol Thanks for your input gents
