Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. M2 seems to be shooting at 11:00 at 15 yards and throwing slugs at 6" left at 50yds any ideas how to correct?
  2. Think what I need to do is save the 20 bucks I was gonna spend on the standard size rear. That way I will have a little extra cash to buy a new M1a scout to trick out ( dont tell the wife I be in deep dodo again) Thanks again for the ideas guys
  3. In the early 70's we ran duel apertures on our M14s. Didnt know if somthing on that order was still available. I'll give the standard peep a try as well as looking over the top for the close up stuff. Never thought about running a comp, like the Titan thats what I run on my AR. I'm sure if I get a little more range time I'll find a combination that will work for me. The 223s have spoiled me a little on the cost of ammo. All i need to do is figure how to "Feed the Beast" Thanks Guys. Be safe Randy
  4. Picked up used M1a a while back, Thought I would give it a try at the local 3gun. Only problem I had was the close in targets, with the NM sights. Wish I had a set up like the AR With 2 different size peeps. Can anyone help with some information
  5. The shift is most likley caused by parallex If your heads not in the same spot every time you change positions your POI will change
  6. Mine was really tight at first. I had a couple of failures to feed the first 50 rounds. I now have run about 3k with no problems. Shoot it if thers a problem Springfied will fix it with no questions asked. Thats why i own 5 springfield 1911s
  7. I started off with a Springfield range officer, Sent it back to Springfield custom shop for some upgrades ended up with around 1700 in it. Ambi safety, ext mag release, SA mag well, checkering the frount strap. serrating rear of the slide. Dawson FO frount 4lb trigger, G10 grips and 2 tone finish , Looks good and runs great 500 + rounds with no stopages, I am sure it will shoot better and can, My eyes are old and by bodys fat and i have a flintch, but i can still shoot 6"plates at 20yds and zombies at 50yds
  8. Dont forget Walnut grove 3 gun last saturday each month 2 hrs west of Charlotte. Spartanburg is a great place to shoot also
  9. Ok Guys as a new shooter, I expect and appreciate any coaching when my gun handling or any other issues with my performance are not up to standards at a match. I don’t take it in a negative light but as a learning curve. The last thing I want is accidental discharge. Send a round over the burm or injury someone. Just tell me, I don’t care if you’re the RO or another shooter in the squad If I make the same mistake more than once then you have my permission to be a Big of an A@@ as you wanna be
  10. I shot my first IPSC match the other week, I made it thru 5 stages without to many mistakes and thought I did pretty well for my first try. Then I saw the match results it was worst than I thought. As I reviewed the stage scores I did relize it was not that bad, my points for hits was as high or higher than a lot of the A and B shooter. My times were about twice that of the stage winner (I think there was somthing wrong with the timer) I learned a lot, Shoot all the targets, Shoot them at least 2 times unless its a Virginia count and a hot slide will burn you fingers. Can't wait till next week!!!!! Thanks to all the RO's who help us new guys
  11. Thanks guys, I just got started in multi gun last year. With a few equipment upgrades those young guns with the funny hair cuts better watch out for the old fat man with the gray hair. I put a fiber optic on my Springfield. First time I have seen my frount sight in years Thanks again Randy
  12. Does anybody know if the SJC Titan Comp in 223 is legal for Tactical. I hate blowing a 100 to find its to long and get moved in to an Open class
