  1. I do this for a living so I need toys like this...
  2. Here is a link to a video I took this past weekend using Google Glass. It provides the best FPV I have seen so far, with open sights the view is interesting and I'll dig up that video too. The video was private, fixed now...
  3. I'm trying out a GoPro camera on my hat and captured video from two stages that I'll share. While not a training video, I did subtitle my plan on the second stage and it almost worked out. The GoPro is working out well, maybe a smidge too heavy for my hat but my muffs keep things squarely in place so far. http://bit.ly/RsJJCI
  4. A clear decline in attendance year over year, that's sad. Of late our local monthly steel match has been close to 80 with a diverse set of permitted firearms...
  5. While shooting speed steel both of my kids have to really whack the fulls mags into the 22/45 to seat them. The problem has been solved with these extended base pads! Just thought I'd share and give some good press to Dominic at tech-custom.com!!
  6. These look pretty interesting if they ship: http://www.zioneyez.com/#/home/ It was a project started on Kickstarter.com and there are a lot of people whining about not getting what they paid for yet so be careful...
  7. With the right setup 1000 rounds/hr is easy. With the 1050, case feeder, and bullet feeder you're just pulling the handle. The Dillon RF-100 is filling up the primer tubes, and you need to keep the case feeder and bullet feeder loaded up. With fired cases you can crank out 100 rounds every 3 minutes. With new cases its possible to break 3 mins/100. Of course what slows you down is when crap flies off the shell plate or won't go on, or you break a decapping pin because that 9mm case didn't quite get on the shell plate completely, etc...
  8. Super 1050 Deluxe Quick-Change Kit Primer size change: Yes Experience: 9 years Time to change: 25 minutes Super 1050 From 9mm major to 9mm minor - I just change out the powder measure, everything else stays the same Time to change: < 5 minutes
  9. Super 1050 Casefeeder: Yes KISS Bullet Feeder: Yes Dillon RF 100: Yes Experience: 9 years 1500/hour Shooters in the family running 9mm major at matches: up to 3 Kids shoot ammo like it's free, and to them it is.
  10. Err, umm. There were a coupla bees by the curtain, yeah that's it...
  11. OK guys. JerryV put together a pretty awesome video from the match, I uploaded it to YouTube to share it with you all. And yes this is my first and proud post in a revolver forum... is here: or Norm
  12. Your left hand would be doing nothing? Try switching arms, it goes faster and you get and even workout on each arm.
  13. The mount is an Allchin .22 Ruger C-More and the optic is a C-More, originally a Serendipity but modified to be a Slide Ride. The barrel is a Tactical Solutions Pac Lite and the internals are Volquartzen. I'm thinking about building another one of these, for the kids of course...
  14. This weekend was my youngest son's 8th birthday and one of the things I promised him was that when he was 8 he could start shooting steel matches. Well the day was a huge success, despite being a chilly day here in the Pacific Northwest, my boys and I headed to the range for the first time together. It was just sweet. Justin shot very safe and accurately, his confidence built as the day went on, he did very well and I'm and extremely proud father today. He did so well and had so much fun that one of his older sisters (13) said she'd like to give it a try too! Hopefully I'll post again when she joins us... Attached is a picture of the new shooter and the results too!
  15. I bought my first open gun from her back in 2003. Rest in peace Cheryl.
  16. Me, my son Zac (14 at the time), Chuck Anderson,Yong Lee, Glenn Higdon all at the Crazy Croc a few years ago. Plus a little Molly Hatchet to sing along to.
  17. The news crew asked for a shot of three folks practicing so we let them tape that and alas it made it in the piece. I did give credit to TGO when I used his quote but that was edited out too... All in all it was a good piece and it put the sport in a good light. A few of my shooting friends that don't compete have said that looks like so much they want to give it a try! Norm
  18. Twice today, yes that's right twice, I had to DQ two shooters on the same stage. Both of them were using holsters with straps across the grip, both of them swept their support hand while moving or starting to move the strap out of the way while holstering. Please guys, get a kydex holster or cut the strap off for competition shooting...
  19. I have used Federal small rifle and small pistol with no pressure signs.
  20. I've had a work provided Blackberry for years (7503) and now also carry an iPhone which I strongly prefer. I figured out that the key to a good vacation is to have personal cell phone in addition to a work phone. It's too tempting to peek in on work with the Blackberry while on vacation and with the personal cell phone you can leave the Blackberry at home and just turn it off. Yes I know, it's obvious...
  21. Yes it was and I got several comments on the level of accuracy required for the whole match. I also go here http://www.stageexchange.com/ for stages when I'm running low on creativity, several folks from our section regularly post their stages there. Norm
  22. I set this one up this weekend in one of our larger bays and it went over very well. The accuracy requirement was high on this stage and I did not force the shooter to move too much. I moved a few targets to the inside of the 'slices' nearest the shooter really that required them to lean out to engage. Thanks for the stage! Results are here. Norm
  23. p2000lefty, I guess you could say this weekends match was in your honor as I borrowed several of your stages. I did eliminate the NS from the starting position but the ammo on the table, and unloaded gun on the barrel evoked quite a few comments from my shooters. Thanks again for the great stage. Norm
