  1. In the first round of the Colt 3man I watched a guy shoot a texas star with a slug. Shotgun part of the stage was two slugs targets and the texas star. He must of loaded and extra slug and forgot, he was DQ'ed.
  2. Maybe you can share what you learned on stage six since I missed it.
  3. Tim, it was nice meeting you and Cassio. Very true, great bunch of guys in squad 4. Nice shooting! Now if I could only figure out that lower pit - I think I'll call it match killer for me instead of stage six... lol Jeremy
  4. I shoot the match and also help Dean with running the match. I would say worth the plane ride. The prize table was incredible last year. Not to mention both matches were fun as hell.
  5. Are these dates set in stone? Need to get that vacation time in ASAP.
  6. Here's what we ended up doing to my SLP.
  7. I just picked up 26" vent ripped barrel for my SLP. I'd like see what you guys are running for front and rear sights. It doesn't have to be an SLP.
  8. Yes! I've been running a Lancer 48 rounder for the past year. It works flawless. I also run there 30's. As 45shooter said big supporter of the sport. Just shot the York 3man/3gun this past Sunday, every shooter was given a free 30rd Lancer mag.
  9. Topton September 16th Multigun 3 gun match. $25.00 Setup begins at 8:00 AM, Registration closes at 10:30 AM, followed by shooters meeting and walk through. This is a volunteer sport. Setup and tear down help is needed. New competitors must notify the Match Director as early as possible to arrange for the required safety check. Approx round count will be... Rifle 150 Pistol 150 Shotgun 100 bird and min of 4 slugs The count is set a little high but if you bring that, you won't have any ammo issues.
  10. I feel you should not change the bases. Steel is steel, and clays are clays. A clay will chip, or break from where a steel piece will not fall. Steel is a different target. Steel will fall if you hit it square. Slow down and hit it or go fast and miss it. Every shoot a Texas Star and have a plate hang and not fall????? Tuff luck! keep shooting or move on.
  11. I think I shot the same match yesterday but not in the same squad. Unless you have the same RO for every squad, the rules will never be called the same. One squad RO might let the mag thing slip by while the other will bump the fellow shooter to Open. I think the MD should hold the rule book up in the air and say we follow this rule book with no exceptions no matter if your new or not. Also, sorry to say not every RO knows the rule book so the rules will never be equal at a match of club level... yes I said it, "club level"!
  12. Karl, the shotgun target was awesome, please bring it to Topton for the monthly match some time
  13. Thanks for the tips guys! I will try them all. Dave, you missed a great series. Try to get in next year. Mike, I just ordered 6 MGM targets with our gift certificates, Might able to put a match on at your dads cabin
  14. Just finished up the Colt 3man/3gun series. I really hurt my team on the long rang stages. From a bench or prone at my local club I have no problems but when in the heat of the match, all hell breaks loose for me. At the last match, we shot targets at about 120, 150, 180 and 250yds. For some reason the 180yd target kicked my butt. All my shots were around it. I missed it right, left, high and low Any thoughts? Scope is a Leupold VX-6 1x6 with 68gr ammo
  15. All part of the game, hit them square. Steel for shotgun is a little different than clays.
  16. What a great series! I was lucky to be one of Dean's RO's and staff members. Dean did a great job with both matches, he put in alot time and hard work for two great events. This was my first time shooting major matches and I had a blast. Our team ended up with gift certificates for $750 from MGM Targets and Lancer mags. That's a great prize for 20th place. The MGM targets or a perfect prize for me since the long range stages are what I need the most work on. Looking forward to working next years series and improving my long range skills. Thanks again to Dean, the rest of staff, Topton and PeaceMaker ranges and all the sponsors
