I'm beat down, but what a great match! Wanna thank everyone at Rockcastle from staff to the MD and the RO's. It was my first time at Rockcastle and had a blast. I'm looking forward to next year. Also squad four was great, shot with friends and made a bunch of new ones.

Is buckshot all paper, if so how many pellets are needed?

No! I do not pick up ammo at matches. I offered advice. I was told by a fellow shooter that makes many major matches and he told me some matches check ammo with magnets.

Keep a magnet in your range bag from now on.

Last year we shot the Peacemaker match on Saturday with awards and side shotgun match on Sunday morning. Saturday moved smooth and I think we were done shooting by 4-5:00.

Last year a buddy had problems with the 1oz shells fitting in his shell caddy. If you use an alternate shell holding device you should be fine. Otherwise, check to see they fit when they come in so you can get a different shell holder prior to a match if needed. Don't forget about your tube as well. Longer shells may decrease your guns capacity. Yep! I know the one 1oz are a tad longer. Not a problem with tube and shell holders.

looks good where did you order it from or is that a complete lancer ? Thanks! It was put together with help from the guys at Lancer, I have second build in all black that my dad runs. Lucky for me, Lancer Systems is in my area kinda. My local gun shop carriers alot of there product. If there's a delay in response time, it's due to the market clean outs, you know everyone buying up items. I have a Lancer shotgun tube on order, I was told I would see it after Shot Show. As 45shooter said check the facebook page for more info. Great bunch off guys to work and shoot with.

I shot SC and Skeet today for the first time, what a blast! I'm hoping this will help me for the Rockcastle shotgun match in April. I used my SLP with IC choke. I shot trap as a young adult 20+ years ago but what a differences between the three. My score in Sporting Clays was 68/100, Skeet was three rds breaking 19, 21, 19. I'm looking forward to going back and trying it again. As for my gun of choice in the future, I'm thinking of buying a Remington Versa Max with 28'' barrel and then adding 24'' barrel for 3gun.

I would say the bottom line is.... IF YOU CAN'T COUNT, DON'T LOAD SLUGS WITH BIRDSHOT!!!!!! If the stage has slugs in between shot then only load your gun per targets. It will be slower but that's part of the game. i am trying to think SAFETY, so, do all you can to keep it safe. Not all our competitors are as good as you. It has nothing to do with how good someone is. This was my first full year of shooting 3gun, last year I never mixed slugs with shot because I didn't feel confident doing it in a safe way. I know it cost me time but it never cost me $$$$$ or a DQ and better yet injury. It sounds like your unsure of yourself, and you'd like the stages designed to fit your game. If a stage starts out with 3 shot then 2 slugs then 3 shot, only load your gun with 3 shot and run it dry, then put 2 slugs in and run it dry, then finish up by loading 3 shot and finish out the stage. I'm not a pro and never will be, I run as fast as I can while staying safe.
