  1. We've been having heated discussions lately while setting up for matches regarding fault lines and targets. There are times when if you crowd the fault line, or use long cover on the fault line, you can clearly see and engage all the targets without changing your body position. The question is can / should a PE be issued for exposing yourself to unengaged targets if you set up in this way? We used to call it busting cover, but since there are no longer cover calls with the use of fault lines, the line of thought is now your exposing yourself to targets. Our MD has said that the intent of fault lines was not to stop using cover, which to a point I agree with him.
  2. What am I overlooking here. Stock glock sights are .256 rear, and .165 front. The stock rear is pretty clost to the V rear sight, however the V front sight is a bit taller than stock glock but yet most seem to think the V sights shoot high. Seems with the taller front site POI would be lower.
  3. Just installed it last night so I havnt run any rounds through it. I hope to tonight. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
  4. Problem solved. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
  5. Is there a way to temperarly stop the cases from feeding into the shell plate? If I only load 100 primers and happen to put in 110 cases in, I would like to be able to stop the cases from feeding when I run out of primers.
  6. So because the first shot is double, the following shots do not matter? Thanks.
  7. I thought SSP guns have to be double action only. If they start hammer down on the 92, wouldnt only the first round be double action, all rounds after that would be single correct.
  8. Gun will not run at minor 125 pf, 3.9 gets me roughly 135 pf at which point it runs flawlessly. My numbers do not match others shooting same model gun and same round recipe, suppose I have a slow barrel.
  9. I've got the phone app but in order to pick it up I've got to set the sensitivity so high that it picks up other noises as well. Ill work with it some more and try to dial it in
  10. Will a shot timer pick up dry firing in a garage? Looking at the Pocket Pro 2.
  11. I run 3.9 gr of N320 with a 180gr Precision Delta Full Metal Jacket, OAL 1.125 from a G35. I read some people making minor with 3.6 gr of N320 out of G35 but mine will not do it, wont even cycle reliably. 3.9 gets me at about 130-135PF.
  12. Installed mine the other day and it did feel gritty just as the trigger broke. After dry firing for a while is smoothed out.
  13. Yup just ordered one last night and got the confirmation that its on its way.
  14. Im using N320 over 180gr PD bullet in a G35. Anything below 130pf and I seem to have issues. Im using an 11lbd main spring. My current load is 3.9 gr. I got chronoed at a major last month and was running 4.0 gr, chronoed at 135ish.
  15. Ive never had to show my card at a major. I think they will check your IDPA member number when you sign up, they will see your classification then. See you at the cup.
  16. Bump showed up at IDPA HQ Zack take a look.
  17. Not sure if this link will work but check the awards page and it shows the bump. http://caswellranch.com/Documents/2012-02-11awards.pdf
  18. Zack this is Craig, sheeps friend. We both got bumps, if you go to the match website and look at the scores it shows you getting the bump. They should call them into IDPA but I haven’t seen it show up yet. I got chronoed at the car trunk stage along with three other shooters, luck of the draw I suppose. After the stage brief they picked a few of us out and asked us to give them 5 rounds, so there wasn’t any suspicion of powder puff loads, we chronoed before the stage started. The truck stage with the drop turner was difficult. All three targets were equal distance so I put one into each of the static targets which gave me time to put three into the drop turner on its second exposure, then went back and put the last two into the static targets. My mental game was to shoot as accurate as I could, and I knew my times would suffer, but I was going take my chances on the game plan. I finished the match with 23 down and as you know won my class and got the bump. You’re lucky to be able to shoot on a regular basis with Nick and Jason, both master shooters. I avoided shooting with you guys because I have a bad habit of trying to keep up with shooters in my squad, and I knew from Jason how good of a shooter Nick is. Take care, it was good to meet you, and hopefully I’ll see you guys later this year at the Carolina cup.
  19. Thanks for the reply I think I got it.
  20. Shot at a major this past weekend and after the match I was talking with a few master class shooters and they were discussing grip strength training, and the equipment they use to accomplish this. I tried one of the gismos they had and it took quite a bit of force to manipulate this thing. This then got me thinking, how much grip force should I be using when I grip the gun? To be honest I don’t pay a lot of attention too my grip one the buzzer goes off. I just draw and acquire the front sight post as quick as I can. How much thought needs to go into the amount of grip force applied?
  21. good post noylj. Im happy with the load, how it feels and acuracy. Reason for the load is to get down close to minor, which Im at 135. I was just curious about the numbers I was getting with my chrono and why I was getting them.
  22. Just plugged the numbers into my spread sheet had SD of 17 on one string 27 on another, and 22 on the last string. Another piece of info, this lot of powder shot on average 5 power factor higher than the last lot did. Shooting n320.
  23. How much of a difference can mixed heads stamps make with velocity? I’m getting as much as 50fps difference between highest and lowest velocity out of a 10 shot string. I dial in my powder by throwing 10 charges then get the average. After that I run 20-30 rounds through the press, 550B, and then set up charge for next load to test. I’ve also seen my OAL vary by as much as +- .003, which could be mixed head stamp related to I suppose, so Im guessing I could be getting some variance there as well. Chrono is a Pro Chrono and brand new. Should I take the time and make sure all head stamps are the same when testing loads?
  24. I went from a Lee Pro1000 which I never felt the need to use case lube for staight wall pistol to a 550B and brought my Lee dies with it. If I dont use case lube sizing takes alot more effort than I remember on my Pro 1000. If I use lube, it runs slick. Anyone else feel the need to use case lube for pistol?
