  1. i have their eagle and tactical both in 9mm and all i use is factory ammo, mostly 124 and 147 (fed and blazer) and they eat it just fine.
  2. looks like duke took care of you above, but also check the uspsa website for local clubs, and then scroll thru the practiscore website for match listings that might be in your area (and that will list everything incl uspsa, idpa, 3 gun, etc), at least for those matches that use practiscore. matchsignup.org also lists some matches.
  3. yep i lock and then firmly tug before even thinking of letting go. every single time.
  4. not sure if it is or isn't, i'm just saying i'm not dropping another $3k+ on another wilson to play in an IDPA division just so they can change the division specs again.
  5. so how many have been sold now (1000s?) and we have a dozen guys on the internet having issues. granted there should be NONE with that kinda coin, but i have real live buddies that have sent CK's, Nighthawks and Wilson's back and those are even more coin. just a little tired of all the STI bashing when my stash of STI's have been pretty good to me and the vast majority i see at matches run well also.
  6. my M.O. is to load all mags going on my belt chock full, then take one round out. this goes for pistol & rifle. i see lots of folks try to jam in completely full mags, either way too much effort, or they just drop out. glad you got back on your game!
  7. i had a guy do that while i was running him, just turned the wrong way. rifle was pointed straight down (at the ground) so he didn't muzzle anyone. but the 180 rule means the muzzle is on the downrange side of the shooter. in this case it was definitely uprange, so dq and he had no problem with that and stopped before i told him to stop. unfortunate as again there was no safety issue, but certainly would have been if he had been at low ready (ie gun at 45) and did a 360.
  8. at least they didn't say it was {temporarily} idpa ccp legal....
  9. mine (38 super) malf'd big time the first range/break in session, over a couple of hundred rounds. took it home, stripped and thoroughly cleaned and oiled and it's been pretty much perfect since, other than a few clearly magazine-related issues. i did immediately turn the c-more sideways as i like it low to the bore. hope you get yours fixed!
  10. good on you for taking the leap! i started years ago, did matches both days this past weekend, and am already looking forward to next weekend's matches! be safe and have fun.
  11. maybe try getting it back to box stock (mags, springs, parts, etc) and then replacing one part at a time? also maybe try some factory ammo, perhaps something got out of spec. i rarely see glocks fail at various uspsa and 3 gun matches but when i do it seems to be those with reloads or different recoil springs.
  12. nothing wrong with doing a little recon before jumping in. but most people i've seen doing that were disappointed they didn't just bring their gear and join in the fun. one venue a guy came to spectate the morning match but halfway thru that went home got his stuff and played in the afternoon match.
  13. My wife is the undisputed queen of indefinite pronouns!!!
  14. ok "what" says another 6 days? is there a website for a prior match? thanks
  15. lefty shooting a righty (or is that wrongy) JP GMR-13. zero issues. i shoot factory ammo mostly fed or blazer 124 or 147. basically same as my various AR's, no issues. no cans on any of these if that matters.
  16. my issue with truly "open" holsters, ie, barrel is out there and not covered or protected, is it is very easy to jam that thing up with dirt, mud and gravel if going prone, kneeling or weird positions. i had my limited gun in a WRS holster and still got a bunch of crap in thru the bottom of the holster.
  17. 1.2.2.c is a pretty crappy "rule." throws a bunch of subjectivity back into the game. the rules ought to be the rules and if they don't say something can't be done, then it should be able to be done.
  18. benelli gets a 10% kickback from all the companies that make money from welding up the lifters? just like glock does when folks trash the stock sights and buy aftermarket...
  19. i looked thru the rules several times and didn't see where it said you had to use the same holster for the whole match. it did say the holster had to remain on the same side, and that mag pouches had to stay in the same location.
  20. sounds like this is a joke news article. he talked about wanting a reshoot. still, the devil comes out of nowhere.
  21. curious why you say that, i 'assumed' because of the taper it was actually a good feeding round. they certainly have worked in my glock 31, 32 & 33's. and i've seen a couple of sti dvc limited's on gunbroker in 357 sig.
  22. you use same mags and ammo for practice and competitions? how do you know you're not dragging on the slide?
  23. wow super nice of him!!! yeah unfortunately mistakes tend to compound themselves, while smooth sailing tends to lead to further smooth sailing. sounds like you handled it real well and you'll remember what (not) to do if the situation arises again.
