  1. I short stroke the bolt so that the hammer does not go past the bump
  2. as a rule.......if you call, I answer or call back (that is if you leave a message). Emails typically are answered once or twice a week. Tim
  3. I am not a fan of hyperfire at all......but BHO will work with no issues on the ARV and the hyperfire
  4. I think you are running our super feed barrel......I've been able to get HP's to work fine (even HST's).....but I've not done a steady diet of them. Also......I still stand by the fact that HP's and 9mm AR's don't play well together. HOWEVER.....you'll have the best chance of feeding HP's with TACCOM barrels.
  5. I think the sear is too hairy........really set light. Now, what I did not try is the factory hammer with the Kidd trigger/sear set up........that may work, but I needed a trigger in my 10/22 asap and it needed to come out of the pc carbine.
  6. Unfortunately........the Kidd LOVES to make the PC Carbine go FULL AUTO!!......as in pull the trigger and it will empty the magazine!! I tried to adjust the sear, but to no avail. And just an FYI.......in function testing, I tried one round in the mag, then 2 rounds in the mag, then 3 rounds in the mag......on the mags with more than one round, it cleared the mag. Just for S&G's and knowing what it might do.....I tried 5 rounds in the mag.....did quick tap.....all rounds expended. I took it home.....removed the trigger, put the volquartsen back in. AND......I put the Kidd trigger in my 10/22 and I am happy to say that it goes ONE bang with ONE pull of the trigger. So.....now we know!! THE KIDD TRIGGER IS A NO GO IN THE RUGER PC CARBINE!!

  8. It fits and dry function cycles well!! Next step....to the range. Trigger breaks at 1 pound 10 ounces......very crisp, and fast reset!!!
  9. biggest thing about reliability on the PC carbine is making sure that the the screws that attach the stock to the receiver are tight. Especially the front screw.....if that is loose, the ejector drops down (it's in the stock, not the receiver), cause all sorts of stove pipes.
  10. I was on a quest to find THE best trigger for the Ruger 10/22 for Steel Challenge......tried many, and many fell short. Yes, even the Volquartsen was a turd, way too slow. I ended with the Kidd Drop in trigger for like $230 or so......and talk about a crisp sub 2# trigger with minimal take up and fast/short reset!! I knew I had a winner. SOOOOOOOO......what does this have to do with the PC Carbine? I think a lot. As Kidd does sell a kit that you can install in the factory 10/22 module. People that know me, know that I've been saying that the Volquartsen 10/22 trigger pack with fit the PC Carbine trigger module.....and it does, and it is a good upgrade.....I also mentioned that you'd be better off keeping the factory springs in the set up. WELL......it just hit me that Kidd's 'kit' should fit in the PC Carbine with ZERO issue as well........and if it mimics their 10/22 module trigger set up......then Kidd will have the ULITIMATE trigger for the PC Carbine.........from what I understand......no one has tried this, so I will. I'll have an update in a week or so. Picture for attention and reference.
  11. lots of money and subjectable as to whether it's really any better than TACCOM.s, MBX.s or Blitz.s Pick one....run with it and never look back.
  12. 9mm LRBHO is sketchy at best, some just do not work reliably, others seems to work fine for the most part. One thing.....you may want to look at is the actual BHO on lower, it may be that they put a weaker spring in that to help with the function of the LRBHO for the glock magazine. I'm just not a fan of anything BHO, sorry......they are more of a liability than good. I've just learned to count.....know when I am empty, reload and rack......seems to be the most reliable way to go overall.
  13. It's waaaaay too far over......from your other pics, looks rolled over. Take a pliers and tweak it back towards the center., closer to the side of the bolt
  14. First I've heard of that in the US.......There are range in the rest of the world where you can actually see buildings a few hundred yards off the back berm and they have high muzzle DQ's. To the best of my knowledge, I know of no rule in Steel or USPSA for what you speak of. Technically, if they are an affiliated club they can't use 'home rules' with out permission from the BOD or President. Of course, I could be wrong.....but that is how I understood it back when I was very active in the sport.
  15. probably the same firing pin......that being said, we've had VERY good service with our present firing pin offering.....but you know how it goes, if you have a spare...you'll never break one.
  16. no clue on the sprinco kit, taccom has an extractor that comes with a pin, milspec spring and rubber post
  17. one thing I am finding out about the ARV........you can short stroke this beast and still have LRBHO, if that's that important to you. Now, some triggers will reset better than others when you go to short stroke this to the extreme......I've been having good luck with the JP trigger and a triggertech, I am short stroking so that the face of the bolt just comes behind the BHO feature......hyperfire didn't even begin to rest at that point. Also......you may want to pay attention to the extractor spring. That is all they come with, a spring....no donut, no rubber post. I installed a milspec extractor spring and the rubber post......ZERO issues.
  18. On most 9mm Bolts, with the 223 style extractor......a complete strip down will expose some of the firing hole.....specifically at the extractor pocket. Compressed air will pretty much blow any gunk out of there. Additionally, and this should be a VERY rare thing to do......you can go with the next size drill and clean out (enlarge) the firing pin hole in the face of the bolt as well. I personally do not recommend doing that, however I have used the correct size drill to clean out that hole.....could be that you had a burr on the inside edge that didn't rear it's ugly head until after many cycles.
  19. This has just made the AR-V a very capable race gun.......
  20. really tight on the castle and red loctite
  21. and use all the factory springs for the most part
  22. This......works fine in the pc carbine; https://volquartsen.com/products/168-hp-action-kit
  23. On the TACCOm barrels for the ARV platform......You will need to have us cut off the lower feed ramp as the ARV has a cone shaped feed ramp built into the lower to feed from the true double stack magazine, and if you want to use the supper feed insert, you'll need to send the ARV bolt into us for modification (free of charge) and we typically turn that around in a day or two.
