  1. I know people try to justify this for what ever reason.....two come to mind.....unloaded starts and malfunction. To the first one.....typically, it's been a table start and to the second one, well.....s#!t happens. Here's my question........why would you design your equipment around disaster? You really don't train for that anyways.....and the rear charge handle is pretty much 2nd nature to anyone that has run AR's all their life. Like say......just for discussion.
  2. you say that like brekke was the first......they weren't I look at it this way.....Colt designed the first PCC 16' barrel......then everyone else must have copied them......nah TACCOM came out with the first ULW barrel.....and everyone else that has one now.....copied that design......nah The 10" or 13" barrels with long brakes.....yup....TACCOM did that too.......anyone that does it now.....copied them??.....nah TACCOM also came out with the ramped barrel design.....literally gave it to another barrel manufacturer.....of course we do something totally different now along with the superfeed option.....any one copy that yet?......nope, and when they do.....did they really copy it?......nah What I am getting at is each of these companies......do their own thing....they see something that works.....and say, hey....lets put our own little twist on it.....might be good, might be bad.....but it's not a rip off by any means......I actually invite it!! As it is only going to bring about innovation and better feeding, better controlled rifles from other manufacturers.....not just one or two.
  3. great to know!!!.....our offer still stands if you ever have issues. Tim
  4. They ARE!!!......we can't control everything ya know. But our barrels will give you the absolute best chance of feeding just about any bullet profile out there. We all know that flat nose and hollowpoints will give any AR9 fits.....depending on magazine or lower, this is a little bump on the road. And does not speak to the 100's, if not 1000's of barrels we've produced in the last 4 years. IF he can't get it.....of course we will have him send the barrel back for inspection.....even we don't get it right every time and THAT is where our customer service comes in. I will say.....this is a rarity....the only other time we've had an issue was when a guy was trying to feed HST hollowpoints. Tim
  5. Take the barrel and polish a bigger radius on the entry, right below the super feed option.....that should do the trick. Don't go crazy, but a little polishing in that area will go a long way!
  6. SO first off.......I removed the 'thumb loader' pin as it binds....period on the new mags. I use a small allen wrench to pull the follower down. Secondly.....I had to go inside the mag with a screwdriver to widen out the entire column so the rounds flow freely......it was a pain, but I did all 6 of mine and they work now.
  7. GET THIS AND ALL YOU NEED IS AN OPTIC.....EVERYTHING ELSE IS DONE!! https://www.browning.com/products/firearms/pistols/buck-mark/buck-mark-plus-vision-americana-suppressor-ready.html?fbclid=IwAR2BG9edvIpIxswxq_IENC-ukQJSCjTUtO-cp7qqh9xHU8-cTEqF5zBc5x4
  8. 10.5" is a sweet spot for your brake to work with the lighter bullets (115 or less at min power factor. You still have plenty of gas to make a good brake work well to help control dot bounce. Shorter barrels have such a fast impulse that we've found on rifles the brake really doe not have the desired affect that running a heavier round cant do better.
  9. The TACCOM adjustable recoil system comes with a short stroke recoil pad....yes, about .5-.6" thick and with most bolts and triggers that is about all you can go....with our buffer, but our buffer is a smidge longer than most. You may be able to go a little more than that if using a standard length buffer. If you have the ESSB bolt you can go up to 1" shorter, depending on your trigger. YEs, you can also shorten your stroke other ways.....quarters, a spacer, etc. If you do quarters, as you shorten the stroke you will also be preloading your spring as well.....so keep that in mind. That will effect your felt recoil too.....could be good or bad.....try it and see how it feels to you. You can also use a spacer that has a head and goes up inside the spring....this will not affect your preload. The short stroke pad we include with our adjustable recoil system only shortens the stroke and does not affect the preload of the spring. As a rule....if you are running a standard length buffer and standard carbine spring.....you should be able to put 8 to 10 quarters in the bottom of your buffer tube....and still have bolt hold open, if thats important to you.
  10. Send the bolt to us via USPS....in a box....not a bubble or tyvec envelope to: TACCOM PO BOX 431 DASSEL, MN 55325 If you send it in an envelope, all I will get is the envelope....call you up, tell you the news......and then I'm the bad guy. I do NOT wanna be the bad guy!! We take care of the rest at no cost to you.....putting a note in the box telling us what you need us to do and a return address would be nice.
  11. I like the feel......getting the mags to actually work was easy, I have system down now.....and the gun is 100%
  12. KINDA GETTING CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED.......
  13. We start turning barrels next week.....just a limited run to begin with.
  14. yeah.....we're fast!! Not sure if you saw it, but it also comes with a free side racker.
  15. Not a fan of the grip either......I've got a tandemkross grip coming for it. Worst case, I'll wrap with something if the new grip fails to work out
  16. I bought one of these to replace my very aging Browning Buck Mark.....so far I really like and as the owner of TACCOM.....will be designing a bunch of accessories for it. First one is going to be a scope mount for the 510C. If you strip down the 510c and use a low low mount......total weight is just above 4 ounces which surprised me greatly!! The HUGE window that this sight has trumps the added weight gain over a smaller optic (3 ounces vs 4 ounces).
  17. so our customers have spoken (a lot!!) we will be offering our 10.5 and 13.5 barrels with no brakes. Our superfeed barrels are hands down the most reliable feeding barrels on the planet. Tim
  18. reloads are lame for PCC and yes, they do slow you up......never reload unless you HAVE to. Get the extensions. Tim
  19. It's great hearing the feed back on these barrels!!! Everyone that used the oven had zero issues. As for the the chrony on the 5.25" vs factory.......you can expect 100fps drop, maybe 150fps with factory 115s. Way less with 124's and 147's Tim
  20. It is what it is......they actually cot more to make. HOWEVER......you can still have a VERy competitive PC Carbine for under $1000 Think about that for a minute
