  1. I first had the idea about two years ago when I saw a shooter beating a squib out of his brand new M2I limited .40 barrel. Then needing to recrown becuase of accuracy loss.It took two guys, one holds the barrel and the other hammer and rod. More so when I was in an indoor range and saw my buddy beating a squib out of his open STI,the needing to take his gun to the gunsmith to re-align the comp.........

I just think it soooo much more simple and fast..One person,no recrown, and no barrel/comp re-align...

a.roberts beat me to the theory...

  2. I've never had a squib load (yet)...maybe because I'm very anal when reloading. I always check the case for powder right before the head goes on - every single round!!!(I use a 550) But I have shooters friends that have 'em often. I see squibs at least once a month.

On one match, a shooter had a squib in his compensated single stack .45 ....... We had squib rods but no alen wrench to remove the two piece guide rod. So I suggested we try to fire a round without the bullet head. I removed the head with pliers, dumped out half of the powder charge And plugged it with a small piece of napkin. I fed the round slowly guiding it with my finger so it stays under the extractor. Fired it. And it works. I've been helping shooters that way ever since. Some guys keep a round(no head) in their range bag just in case.

Just wondering if anyone tried this.

  3. CompML2/ A.R.M.S. mount sits on top a flat top ColtHB .223 (16"bbl). I bought the Aimpoint used....I like it for the big window, durability, and battery life.......The T1 on the ARs seems to have popularity here.......but in my opinion, the 4 tiny mounting screws is just not robust enough...

  4. Did you already send out your holster? If not call BT back and explain your situation.

No,not yet...I'll send it out this Monday.....It would be nice to have them ship me the replacement first though, we have a match here nearly every weekend.. ;)

  5. Somebody from your club/area has to have an extra holster. If not, nothing a small piece of cardboard and electrical tape can't fix.

So to answer the original post, the answer is "yes" ?

I've already given away my Blackhawk when my Blade-tech arrived....And he is using it this weekend... :D:D:D

  6. Interesting. I told BT I have a couple of local matches coming up and need a holster. She told me to just keep mine until the new one gets here.

Like I said Luck You. I've got State Championship this weekend (as stated on my 4th post). Sucks to be me. Now I may have to go LIMITED minor . I can't use my G35 because i've been shooting my G34 half a year now.Got all my 9mm ammo chrono'd and ready to go.. :P:P

  7. I don't think the rule says anything about where the muzzle clears. It does say, specifically, that the slide must be covered up to 1/2" below the ejection port.

Now I'm wondering. Wouldn't " below the ejection port " actually be down to the frame and not torwards the front sight?

    Hmmmm?

  8. I just measured mine and the bend on holster starts at 1/2 inch. The tiny triangle is lower but the slide is covered on sides at 1/2 inch. With small triangle exposing 1/4 more.

I just measured mines also. The cut-out IS 3/4 inch , BUT on the draw ,the muzzle clears at the 1/2 inch mark, the additional 1/4 cut-out is just the sight tunnel.

    USPSA rules reads:

"May not be manufactured or cut lower than,

and must cover the slide up to, ½ below the

    ejection port"

So how should this be interpret?

These were definitely sold under the assumption they were production legal. How could this happen when they were designing it?

Well, so far I don't see ANY advertising stating that it is Production legal nor it was designed for it.I bought it because I read on THIS forum that it is legal. I got it from reddotshooting and J*******n said it's Production legal .But I'm going how the rules read I would really get upset if I get bump to OPEN: :roflol:

  9. So if you already used it, you could put it in the classifieds, someone who shoots Limited can use it.

I'm going to keep it because I also have a G35 limited set-up. In fact I've been shooting my G34 in limited(minor) lately. It's just that State Championship is this weekend and I'm entering in Production. So that's why I have to be so anal.

  10. I just bought a Black Ice holster for my G34 to use in Producton just to find out it is NOT legal. Due to the opening exposing the ejection port more than 1/2". I want to modify it to close the opening a little. But is modifying legal?

  11. Thanks,I'm glad it's legal. I've been using Fobus mag pouches for about two years, and I think my reload fumbles may be from improper grab of the mags . The mags sticks out of the pouches just a little. I don't seem to have any problems when I shoot my STI / CRspeed set up in Limited. I got State Champs coming up so maybe I can borrow my CRspeed from myself.

  12. Hi there. Doesn't anyone here use brake clean? After reloading, I dump about 50 rds ( 9 or 40s ) on a towel and spray (medium) over them then quickly wipe them down. I don't see any harm. Been doing it for 3 years that I've been shooting. Had no problems . Yet. .

    Please tell me it's ok..

The tumbler seems weird for me.

  13. Why do they want make all the guns unloaded before abandoning? A gun with the safety on is perfectly safe. Whats the method to their madness?

Well, the reasoning of this club official,he feels that the Glock is unsafe because there is no safety.( I KNOW THIS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT TOPIC)... This became an argument Glock vs. 1911 safety. He really doesn't understand the Glocks trigger system.

I disagreed on making it a club rule because it would make following a rulebook pointless. We had a multi-gun match about a month ago and he wanted to rule it "gun unloaded before abandoning" AFTER I just finished the stage breifings. I denied his request and told him we would have to discuss about it before any changes we make.

I put in alot of time and thought into stage design. Most of them,by the time you are abandoning the gun ,you should be DRY ,Slide Locked, or Bolt Open(if you had no malfunctions or extra shots)..........Forward moving ,abandoned gun on table(pointed in safe direction),or plastic drum, far from the next array of targets. If its a side-to-side stage, pistol abandon(rifle transition) would be low to the ground,on a carpet, where it cant accidently fall if it was on a table.

  14. Our local gun club is USPSA affiliated. For now, our multi-gun matches is followed by USPSA rules. According to the rules, a loaded gun can be abandoned so long that the safety is on. One of the club's officials wants to make a club rule that requires the gun to be unloaded before abandoning. If this rule is to be broken , that would be a DQ. I know that his intent is to make a safer play.

I say we can stipulate it in the stage procedure/briefing,of all stages . So if would be a penalty if not followed.

If a shooter gets DQ'ed for abandoning a loaded gun with safety ON. Wouldn't that be a big argument on the rulebook?

  15. On ANY of my Glocks and 2011's ,I noticed that the hotter I make a load(testing components) the hits seems to go left a little. 2-3" at the most. A local gunsmith explained that it's because of the rifling twist, the higher pressure tends to move the rear of the gun to the right, on a rest. But off hand, with a good grip should be fine.

Not sure if this would be in your case... Jus giving what I experienced.

  16. Thanks for everyones replies and inputs.

Is SMM3G same as international 3G? Like USPSA vs IPSC rules ?

Ok, I read the SMM3G rulebook vs. USPSA . The only difference I see is the type of scoring , where one "alpha" or two hits outside the "A" zone neutralizes the target ( SMM3G) .Otherwise everything else looks simillar, just USPSA seemed to be more detailed. What exactly are the PROs and CONs ?

    USPSA PRO's

    USPSA CON's

  17. Uhmmm, NO. But good try. Let us know if this helps at all. Good luck.

Any shared experience may be helpful(if not me,for sure someone else).Thanks......

We both had same symptom - keyhole ...Same gun, same barrels, and using cast bullets. For the record, I am using FCD.

    My fix :

    1.slower powder

    Your fix:

    1.water quenching

    2.lead composition

    3.larger diameter sizer(to .357)

    4.change crimp die
