  1. Looking for review of Glock strikers with extended tips? Anyone try one?

I've had reliable ignition with sr primers with regular striker but bought 20k of Tula sr and 1 in 10 doesn't fire. They seem to be quite a bit harder and the dent really light. Even the ones that fire look light. Hoping the extended tip might resolve this.

I know some will say why load sr in pistol? I load a lot of rifle and pistol so find it easier/cost effective to have one type primer and got the Tula sr at a great price... I do load sp for match ammo.

    Howzit !

I have the Jager striker, both in my G34 and G35, and even with factory striker springs they wont fire 100%( Magtech SR,CCI SR,Wolf SR,and Wolf SP) . My Glocks just Fed SP or WIN SP only . MY 2011/1911's any other SP or SR primers.

I would stay away from the Titanium strikers.

  2. Hmmm....After watching your video , now you got me thinking about my primers(Fed SP) with my G35. This past Sunday I had the exact same thing happened to me at a match. I ZERO'd a 22rd stage .I stopped shooting thinking it was a squib. Went to the safety area, removed the upper and check'd the barrel. No squib . I was assuming maybe debri got caught in the powder charging funnel station that restricted powder flow , and got a partial charge.

When reloading my ammo, I use all the same brass in a lot. If there's minimal or no resistance while seating the primers, i toss it. Also ,it goes in a 100rd Case-Guard with the primer up. My last inspection would be the primer seating. If i find one thats too high or slightly damaged,it gets to a "practice ammo" case. Having said all that, is the Fed primers to blame?

That was from a lot #5FT614

  3. - Is it happening to all your mags or just one ?

    - Using reloads ? If so what heads ? PF ? OAL?

    - recoil spring # ?

    - Using 10rd. mags? Try hicap mags load 10 ..

  4. Sorry,tried to interpret.

Do you still think the extended magazine release is the cause?

Yes, I think the extended mag catch makes it easier to drop a magazine. I used to have one on my G19, but then switched to a stock mag catch. It took me awhile to change the muscle memory so that it was easy to drop a magazine with the stock magazine catch. Of course this will depend on each individual, their hand size, the size of the gun, etc. But for me I prefer she stock mag catch because it is more "universal", that is, I don't become dependent on anything.

Last i remember G34/G35 comes with extended magazine release .:wacko::wacko:

  5. The SIRT mag release may be my only concern for a bad habit. It drops the mag with half the movement vs my glocks. I jumped to the full gear to dry handle and wasn't dropping the mag. So now when on the SIRT, I keep in mind to depress harder.

That is because it is an extended magazine release.

The extended mag release doesnt make mags drop sooner, just easier.

My SIRT will drop the mag at 1/16" of the mag release pressed.

My G34 and G35 will drop the mag at 1/8" or just a weee bit past.

I never said that it makes mags drop sooner...

  6. Got mines last week.Love it . My son a I compete in the livingroom shooting from the hip. We're getting alot better. We don't use the pre travel laser though. Gotta focus on the sights and not the laser. The SIRT mag release may be my only concern for a bad habit. It drops the mag with half the movement vs my glocks. That is because it is an extended magazine release. I agree that I would like to have the option to change it to a stock mag release. I am not sure if that is possible because I haven't been able to get the slide off. Are you able to get the pins out of the slide in order to get the slide off?

I have no reason yet to remove the slide. Do you need battery replacement already?

  8. If the gun cycles when shooting, and it goes into full battery(round in chamber) then I wouldn't worry about it. In my opinion , it's a good thing. You got a barrel that locks up like a vault-better accuracy. It also helps keeping the gun stay in battery for those running very light recoil springs.

I add material (TIG weld) the locking lugs of all my aftermarket and factory barrels to get that lock-up that you have. Did that for alot of local Glock owners .

Not sure about that "click" you have, but maybe you can polish the locking block and the barrel under lug.

  9. I have a custom . 40 Limited STI and also wondered if the shok-buff was necessary. I put one in and always have because everyone around me does. But it seems to never need replacing. So does it mean I don't need it? I use a 14# recoil spring .Never caused malfunctions though.

I have seen the" wheels come off " a shooter because of a broken buff on his .45 SS.

  10. I'm all for the " insurance " . I have extended tip strikers in my Glocks, it's needed when using light striker springs. My 2011's ? I'll wait for one light strike, then I'll get one.

Mainspring: as far as "feel" ? That's new for me. I'll try a comparison this weekend. My friend has a limited M2i with a 17# mainspring ( he uses ONLY Fed SP primers ).

Something new to learn . That's the fun part .

  11. To my understanding, it's how the Gun is built.  Anything lighter than a 19# mainspring is sort of a shortcut to achieving a light trigger pull, then may need the use of softer primers and/or extended firing pin.

My STI limited and open trigger breaks at at about 1 3/4 lbs. With the use of 19# mainsprings and Ed Brown firing pins(non-extended). Its the time ,effort, and risk put on the sear and hammer. I use small rifle primers : wolf, magtech, win.  ALL go bang everytime......

  12. Update:

Cmore replied w/ instruction to ship the unit to them for evaluation. I already did, 1 day ahead of their email. W/ this, my apprehensions were assuaged by a great deal.

I'm sure they replied because you posted here . I'm still waiting for an email reply for about ummmmmmmmmmmm a month.

  13. KKM is a much nicer barrel then the LW. BUT, if I shot jacketed bullets I would use a Glock Barrel. 1000%. No doubt about it.

+1000. The only reason aftermarket is lead bullets for me. The factory barrel is just as accurate . The KKM fits tighter . The LW , on one G34 I saw, had a loose fit on the upper lock-up . I'll try to post a pix tomorrow. You can actually see a gap.

  14. I got 2nd(99.9%) on that stage , fastest time(-3 sec to the next) . The last 3 targets had horrible hits( no alphas) because I was laughing during my shots. I'm just upset that it was not on video. Normally you'd see 3 iPhones plus 2 vidcams running when anybody shoots. I was last shooter on the last stage so most of the guys were putting their gear away.
