  1. Had shot Open division for 20+ years and am now in CO so moved EVERYTHING to where the Open rig was setup. Also added three magnetic mag holders. Was used to those as there were two already on the PCC rig. BC
  2. If I remember correctly, they were told that they were no longer welcome at that facility and started another club at a different facility (Oak Hill?) BC
  3. Steel Challenge match at Wayne County Raccoon Hunters club this weekend. Registration on PractiScore opens tonight at 7:00 PM. 6 stages - $15 for first gun, $5 for additional. https://practiscore.com/wcrhc-scsa310-6-stage-am-only-steel-challenge-may-01-2020/register BC
  4. If you get the barrel through Robert and have him install it, it's $420 although you may have to wait until the barrel becomes available. He does not keep them in stock. They have to be ordered and the order isn't placed until your gun arrives at his shop in Texas. Irv at BarSto is selling them as fast as they are being made. He said there is a 3-4 week backup if you order through him. If you find a BarSto barrel elsewhere and ship it to TheSigArmorer, installation / fitting is $175. A barrel was found online at Springer Precision in November, 2020 for $230 and they sold out within 20 minutes. There is a 30+ minute video on YouTube that shows Robert's barrel installation process. The accuracy improved to a point where two aimed shots on the same target were touching and the others were all A zone hits within 2" of each other. The 2" hits were on targets that were about 35' away, the ones that were touching were about 15' away. This was running a stage requiring movement, on the clock. BC
  5. Had the same issue. The upgrade to the "gunsmith fit" BarSto barrel which was installed by Robert Burke of The Sig Armorer corrected the problem. Lockup is greatly improved. BC
  6. Thanks for the details. Looks like the BoD doesn't have the clubs best interest in mind when they stopped a revenue flow from a similar type of competition. We are in the process of starting up another club here in Michigan (Oakland County Sportsmen's Club) and are getting an enormous amount of support from the existing IDPA group along with the BoD. The first USPSA match brought in just over $1,000. Around here, money talks. HH
  7. So it's already gone. It would be interesting to find out why, especially since there were USPSA competitors on the Board. HH
  8. The mag well came with the Sig P320 X5 Legion as it's legal for CO division in IDPA. For those that shoot both sports, it would be easier to leave the mag well on the gun when competing in USPSA events. Hell, those of us that migrated from Open to CO would appreciate a mag well. HH
  9. A recommendation would be for all of you to take it to both the Match Director and the Board of Directors of the club. Believe me, the BoD will not appreciate getting blind sided by a process server showing up with a court summons or lawsuit paperwork. From their perspective, it would just be simpler (and less costly) to get rid of USPSA all together. So it boils down to whether you want to continue to shoot there and take action or do nothing and watch the club go under. If there is a Safety Officer or an incident reporting form, start with that to document all the DQ's. HH
  10. This is how the X5 Legion rides in the rig. The buttstock is clearly well above the belt. The belt was held "level" as you can just see the opposite side in the picture. The holster is setup so that my right hand just touches the muzzle end of the holster and is in the same place every time for the draw. BC
  11. Those types of instances will force the following: - Lawsuits and the associated court and attorney costs - Building overhead baffles - Forced closure of the club (or at least USPSA activities) if the above item 2 is ruled by the judge and the club cannot or does not comply. Any yes they will require proof or an inspection. It happened here in Michigan. The club had to build overhead baffles to keep the judge happy and the club open. The rule for setup became "no blue sky ever available from any shooting position". It really restricts stage design. But the club is still open. If rounds are going over the berm from this guy, IMHO serious action has to be taken immediately. If one of those rounds strikes and kills someone, the proverbial feces will hit the oscillator. HH
  12. A coupe of years back, we had to ban an individual from the club. It was the classic example of never practicing, never dry firing and showing up at matches with every aftermarket gizmo on this gun. He was DQ'ed in three consecutive L1 matches for breaking the 180, sweeping himself and in the last case his gun got hung up on a barricade and he broke the 270. The loaded gun swept about 5 people, mostly range staff. We went to the club's Board of Directors and they wrote him a receipt requested, registered letter informing him he could no longer shoot USPSA events at the club. BC
  13. The Gray Guns tungsten grip that was just purchased shows M so it looks to be a medium. When I called GG support, they said that they laser engrave whatever is available at the time from Sig. BC
  14. Agree with @OPENB The magazines go together very easily with no need to "seat the spring" in the extension. With Grams internals, get 23 in all of mine. BC
  15. Husky 6 in. 6-compartment waterproof storage bin. (<-- use that to search the Home Depot website if the Link doesn't work) $6.47 This one holds all 3 of my DoubleCross magazines along with the loader and unloader. There are others that are bigger that I use for the 9mm Glock mags that go in the carbine. BC
  16. The good news is the Timney Alpha Competition Trigger arrived and was installed. Now with the dot and the shorter, lighter trigger, at least I can hit the steel where I'm supposed to..... lol. BC
  17. No, Evan Toll is the MD and Eric Larsen is the club liaison to the DR Wilson club at OCSC along with handling the interface for USPSA. I'm doing stats and PractiScore match setups along with the Google Group for announcements. The IDPA group already has the tablets for PractiScore and we have a budget to purchase six AMG-Labs Commander timers. They have 5 bays with plans to build more. Chris Arace has stepped up as the stage designer and with his background, he is a great resource. He will be using the DAA Stage Designer toolkit to construct the photographs for setup and the written stage briefings. We are planning on publishing the WSBs on PractiScore with the match. As always, the actual stage might vary slightly when it gets put on the ground. Dennis Tucker is handling registration and with outdoor matches, we will still be accepting walk-ups. As this is a brand new club, some people are not going to know about PractiScore registration. BC
  18. Practice twice a week. Try to get to 2-4 USPSA matches a month. Have a "practice set" for Steel Challenge and try to get that out at least once a week or go to a range that has some stages already setup. Limitation now is reloading components. Can make it through the 2021 season but if things keep drying up or stay at their outrageous prices, I'll find something other than USPSA to do. Probably SC as I have enough ammo and the equipment for both RFPO and RFRO. BC
  19. Bayou Bullets has a coated 95 grain round nose for 9mm. (link) Not finding too many "hard jacket" bullets in that weight. For my PCC, their 105 grain truncated cone works very well. We chronoed them at a 94 power factor so I only use them for Steel Challenge. Shoots very similar to my .22LR carbine. BC
  20. The takeup is shorter. Used everything that comes in the standard G34. BC
  21. My Gen 3-4 arrived today. Followed Shane Coley's installation video and it took a bit of playing with the placement of the return and slide lock springs to get it into the G34. When taking the slide back off, you only need a very small amount of rearward movement to get it to release. Move it too far back and the slide won't come off. Very happy with the results. BC
  22. We are up and running!! This will be the inaugural USPSA match at Oakland County Sportsman's Club. (link) Address: 4770 Waterford Rd, Clarkston, MI 48346 Registration opens on Saturday, March 20th at 8:30 AM and we are limited to 50 competitors. The match will be on the five outdoor Action Pistol bays. Shooter's meeting at 9:30 AM and rounds going downrange at 10:00. More information will be available on PractiScore as the stage designs are completed. Match fee $25. PractiScore registration link: https://practiscore.com/ocsc-oakland-county-sportsman-s-club-uspsa-april-3-2021/register Plans are to hold the monthly USPSA match on the first Saturday with the exception of May 2021.
  23. Good decision. I have a Sig Romeo 4 on the carbine that has two different displays, a dot and a dot in the middle of a "compass point" circle. To change between the two displays, you hold both the + and - buttons in and it would switch. It stopped switching. Sent it in and got a new one with three different displays. The original two and a 3 dot "stack" display for hold-over shooting. Customer service, that in my opinion, goes above and beyond. All my RDS are Sigs with the exception of the 9mm Glock 17 that is used to calibrate steel. It wears a Leupold Delta Pro Point but as stated, it is only used to knock down steel when a competitor failed to drop it. BC
