Ok so these thumb rests are legal now for production/carry optics. Does anyone know of a holster that will fit?

Ive been sick a bit this week but working dry fire. I went out and shoot the casino drill a good bit yesterday but felt it was more minded towards general shooting rather than uspsa. Its not often I have slide lock reloads as so many general public drills call for. I shot my PCC some and it doesn't like ets magazines. Im going to try a few different springs in it but its looking like more of a toy than something I would want to compete much with. I could have run down to omaha for todays match but I worked all day saturday and the cold is coming in. I didn't think it was wise to spend my sunday outside and drive all those hours. I will probably regret it later in the winter when there are no good days to shoot.

Yea I wasn't clear sarge. I meant to expand that a location for carry optic forward of the hip line is easily enforced for use of barney or start mag and after stage for showing clear. I don't believe it will change and the sport need not cater to me but I shoot in golf shorts most of the time and pockets are tough to get to. Its best to just drop the mag or slap it into a mag carrier. Might all be null and void anyway as my limited gun has been a lot of fun to shoot lately.

what are you gonna do with the old dpp?

I still can't seem to get the PCC to function. I feel it might make sense to just grab new stuff and leave the old trainer 9mm behind reverting back to a 10.5 inch pistol AR. I don't feel like messing with loads a bunch to get it to work right. Tried all the different buffers and spring combos I have here and the 16 inch barrel just don't wanna reset the trigger.

It makes a direct call for allowing barney mags to be loaded from a pocket though as well which flies in the face of being contained within a magazine pouch right?

I wore speedcrosses for a long time before shooting uspsa I was surprised how many pairs I saw when I showed up. I like shooting in golf shorts. They are airy and have flex in them. I also almost always where a baseball style hat.

Got in some A/C size targets from MOA targets in today. I really like the way they are put together. I have been doing all my dry fire with the TSO this week and will shoot the gun some time tomorrow or friday most likely.

I put it in my back pocket out on the range now and am curious if I could have it in there not to affix mags for use in a stage but to slap my mag on at the unload and show clear.

'outlaw' type matches are pretty much what you are looking for. If you wanna have a really good time look up cola warrior.

Thats pretty much right. Folks smarter than me recommend getting two of what ever gun you are going to shoot in competition. Shoot rounds through both guns to see which is better and have that be your match gun. Your practice/dryfire gun is the other. I question my choice of S2 for this role more slides are coming out now but a bare slide doesn't fix a problem in the lower.

Shot a 2 gun event in sioux river sportsmens club of south dakota. I was crossing state line so I didn't shoot the sbr and pulled out a 13.7 pinned AR and confirmed zero and shot with a buddy on sunday. On first stage I got to the rifle portion and heard the click. Gun was dead in the water. Some how a chunk of primer got into the bolt and was dragging the firing pin so it wouldn't move forward fast enough to light off a primer. Of a 3 stage event took 28 penalties on the first stage so that was pretty awesome. Went to safe area tore it down found the problem. Took second and third on the other two stages. Im tearing down guns tonight to do a deep clean on several that have been abused a bit this year. Pistol portions of 2 gun all went really well and I hope they continue to do this format as I liked it.

Odd I have 5 of them I can fit a 23rd round in it but it doesn't like to seat on a closed slide and some nose dive when closing slide on them. I stick with 22 in the mag and haven't had an issue.

can someone go over the tweaking to get 23 out of tti with grams guts?

I purchased Steve Anderson and Ben Stoegers books. Ive found the BS book to be helpful. I should probably give the anderson one another shot.

I have the practice score app as well as the hit factor app. Both are enjoyable to set up an array in practice and see how things compare in speed. Playing the what if game after every match isn't much fun but figuring out how the hf scoring plays out is pretty handy.

My reliability has been fine. The cgw s2 has somewhere between 9-10k with one dpp. The new fire for effect one only has 2k or so but has been fine. I don't shoot anything that is that crazy yet so I don't mind having my practice gun in the bag and if one takes a s#!t I index as best I can and talk to the folks in charge about doing the ole gun swap.

As we are late in the year I spent range time on a rifle I was reworking a 36 yard zero for a 10.5 ar using 77 grain ammo. After I got home I heard from a friend that there was a zombie match an hour away on sunday. I figured I would shoot sioux city outdoor on saturday and run over to this zombie match for fun on sunday. SC got canceled for weather so the zombie match was my only hope for some shooting. He told me it would be 3 stages run twice and that I could shoot pistol and rifle if I wanted. I enjoyed it but it seemed harder just to shoot clays on a face than it would have been to put doubles on a headbox. Doesn't make any sense but it was a thing. The pistol shot well I shot cheap ammo through the rifle that didn't share zero with the better 77 stuff so it was interesting holding an inch over while trying to go fast. I took the win and had a good time shooting. I keep thinking each stage would have been a hoser good time if I was throwing pairs into each target rather than a clay on the face. I got in a 16 inch barrel for my 9mm trainer gun that I might try and shooting PCC next year for the two gun classifier only match. I may decide to shoot some matches with that but I still like using uspsa as a pistol training event not something else.
