Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Keep the gun you have, listen to your doctor and get LASIK. The best money you will ever spend. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Yes, I was just discussing this the other day. Running several business' is stressful, with travel and making sure everything is just so. I find that when I go to the range, or when I'm hand-loading 500 .45's, I don't think of anything else. I'm not cognizant of the clock or anyone around me. I seriously believe it's more than a 20 point drop for me. I'm in the NE now on a trip and missing the range....
  3. Sorry, but unless you're a commercial loader, establish a procedure of looking at every, single load. You're doing it everytime you place the bullet...why play games? "Save" a few minutes? How much is your time worth compared with safety? Answer that and enjoy bragging about 10 years of safe loading and, most important, safe shooting.
  4. Nealio, I'm not familiar with the Witness. Why is the feed issue expected? I ask because I've considered the Witness before. Thanks, Jerry
  5. This isn't a sarcastic question, but on my 550 I look at every single load before placement of the bullet. Is that not part of your routine? I'm more than likely missing something. Just wondering. Whatever the process, I hope you get your answer. Edit: I guess you reload while seated?
  6. Realize there's a 99.999% chance the service person you're talking to on the phone DOESN'T own the Company, so be respectful.
  7. Great story! Isn't this a fun "sport"? I can't tell you the number of times I've looked at EVERY…SINGLE…COMPONENT…of the machine, just to realize I forgot to change some critical piece of the puzzle. I feel for you, but do appreciate you sharing the story.
  8. Cordy, first, I'm a newb as well. I have to tell you, though, it's so much easier to think before you push send. What I mean is this…when I think of a question, I automatically go to the search and I consider it a challenge to see how long it takes me to find the answer. Honestly? There is NOTHING that hasn't been covered in this forum. I have never failed to find what I was looking for, whether a reloading question, or just to soak-up other's vastly enhanced experiences that are so far beyond mine. Of course, I still make comments, but I would bet you just about anything that "comparison" questions have been covered 1,000% over any other question. I realize for someone new it's tough to receive such a direct reply, but that's just what G-Man gave you. He tried to be helpful by posting the links (he minded his own business to the extent of providing you the answers YOU asked for). Next time, try to be a little more humble and realize that we all come here to learn, but the first step in learning is to learn to help ourselves. There endeth the lesson. Good luck to you in your search. I'm battling between the STI and Glock platform, myself, which means I'll probably buy the Wilson. This is a disease.
  9. I believe this is the same shotgun, but you should probably read this… http://gunnuts.net/2011/01/20/kel-tec-ksg-shotgun-video/
  10. My GF has been trying pretty much everything. All the Tupperware platforms just haven't "felt" right. She's 5'2, slight of build with small hands. We are at the range looking at rentals and she says, "That one". I'm thinking she's talking the 3" EMP 9, but no, she wants the 5" STI Trojan 9. Needless to say, it "felt" perfect and she's able to A from 10 yards 6 of 8 rounds! I'm very pleased she found the gun for her, although I'm a little concerned about her hauling that around in her purse. Bottom line? Have your wife shoot, shoot, and then shoot some more. Sometimes it just takes time, but that makes the find that much more rewarding! Also, I reload myself and she now goes through 300 rounds of 9 like it was candy!! Back to the press...
  11. I don't want to side-track the thread, Doug, but I had several questions. I'm fairly new and wanted to ask why HP's? Are they more accurate than other loads, like RN's? What do comp shooters typically use? Thanks for the lesson! Jerry
  12. I believe he said he sent it back, they had never seen a break like that, and wanted to charge him $225 to get it fixed. Personally, I would still call them back and make them stand by their product. That's just wrong. Jerry
  13. So what...not having a case in every station somehow causes an imbalance and knocks the load off? Just curious, thanks.
