  1. I really like my Bul Armory, very well built, has a good trigger out of the box, doesn't need anything to compete. I got mine from Gilbert Perez at GP Arms, highly recommend buying through him. I got a 9mm Trophy first and liked it so much I bought a 45 to shoot Major. Good Luck!
  2. I would also recommend the BUL Armory Classic Trophy. Mine has been very good and doesn't really need anything out of the box, it's ready to go. Good Luck.
  3. Just wondering what velocity you may be getting with 4.7 grns WSF and BBI moly coated 125 grn RN at 1.120" OAL? Shooting a 9mm BUL 5" Classic Target 1911. I just bought a Caldwell chronograph (only one I could find in stock at the time) and was surprised at the numbers I got from it. If I can find someone at the range with one I'll try and compare them back to back to see if mine is off the charts. The Hodgdon website said that combination should be about 1,055 fps but I got about 1,200 fps. The load was very consistent, sd of 12. Tried several 10 shot groups with the same results. It was a clear, sunny day, 45 degrees, and the muzzle was 15 ft. from the front screen of the chronograph. If that velocity is correct my PF would be 150, I was hoping to be around 130 to 135 which the 1,055 fps would have been 131. Obviously I can start reducing the powder charge to get to where I want to be but wanted to know what numbers someone else might be seeing with this combination before I do. Thanks for any help, Shootinsteel.
  4. I like the Techwell IPSC XT magwell and grips. Helps keep the mag headed straight going in.
  5. Does a "standard" mainspring light these off reliably or are you using an extra power mainspring? Thanks.
  6. Thanks for everyone that took the time and trouble to reply. I'll check tomorrow and see if any of those areas mentioned are causing my problem.
  7. I'm using a Kimber Classic Target II in 45 ACP with Cobra mags, Wilson ETM, and Wilson 47D mags and have started having problems with the slide locking back with rounds (usually 2 rounds) left in the mags. Doesn't happen all the time, but frequently, and it has happened with all of the types of mags that I have. I've cleaned the mags and inspected them but don't see any problems. I've been shooting SS all year with the same mags, loads, and spring setup in the gun with no problems, so I'm not sure what has happened. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
  8. I had some trouble getting Cobra's and Wilson 47's to seat when fully loaded and slide forward. After talking with Wilson tech support, I bought some ETM's and left them loaded for 2 weeks and they work great. I've left my first mags loaded for a week now and most seat fine, but 2 are still not going all the way in. Maybe after some more time loaded the will be OK.
  9. Thanks for the response. Not sure if I'll go for them or not yet. They'll cost about what I've been paying for 124 grn lead round nose, but some people say the profile doesn't work well with the short chamber found in CZ barrels. I don't have much experience loading 9mm (always shot 1911 45's before), the 124 lrn is all I've used so far. Thinking maybe I should try some Precision Delta 124 JHP, they seem to be the most commonly recommended bullet for 9mm, particuarly from CZ shooters that have posted their loads in some of the other threads on this board.
  10. I have a chance to buy some Nosler 124 grn JHP at a pretty good price but haven't used any of these before. I'd hate to stock up if they won't perform. I'll be shooting them in a CZ85 Combat, mostly IDPA and general range use. If you're using these, what loads have worked best for you? Thanks.
