I use .358 bullets to prevent leading and to get good accuracy. If it were me I would load load up some of the bullets you have
and try them . Before carving on the gun to fix a nonexistent problem. Just a FYI I have purchased two 929 that had leading and
accuracy issues. Both were fixed by cleaning and .358 bullets. A third one came up a few weeks ago .This time it was a friend so
we cleaned and shot it with my ammo. He is very happy now.
Its to slow for 9 minor. I would put it in the same class as #9/w296/H110/2400.
Possibly even A1680 . Good powder for full power .357 Magnum/44 Magnum but
not a good choice for 9mm minor.
Hears what I would like to see. Allow revolver to enter/compete in carry optics.
Its the next logical step. Its a good fit overall. And before any one ask yes I do
carry a custom 64 with a dot.
This has been discussed many times. A little search will reveille hours of information.
1 - are you seating the bullet straight.
use a mr bullet feeder expander
either a Hornady or Reading bullet seater (bench rest style)
2- over all length
The longer you can load the better. 9mm brass has a internal taper
the shorter OAL the more issues you will have.
3- As stated above some cases are thicker. (see #2)
Most including my self. When going from major to minor just put a lighter bullet on their existing
major power charge. This should have been your starting charge.
Slower powders tend to be more accurate for the precision games. NRA precision pistol(Bullseye).
NRA action pistol( Bianchi Cup). Just Two examples. They also are lower round count
games.
In my experience it needs pressure to burn. 45 ACP is a "low" pressure round.
It would not burn correctly. Extreme spread was over 100 fps. I even tried a
magnum primer .
JFlowers you are in Charlotte NC. Blue collar Reloading is in Salisbury. They have or will have the powder you need.
They are the local distributer . They do not ship has mat.
