  1. Rick, I will be working on completing those throughout this weekend Alan
  2. Actually it is on the sandy beach with super models sunbathing on the stage
  3. FYI The Saturday all day slots are now full. The Saturday AM/ Sunday slots are now full. The Saturday PM/Sunday AM Slots are now full. There are still slots available to shoot on the following days Friday Alan
  4. Should have DCarter and Chris Keen on the Sat PM/ Sun AM schedule now Alan edited for spelling
  5. Jake, I have your group set to shoot Sat PM/Sun AM if that is good then set your travel plans. Alan
  6. Jake, There was a need to shift some priorities the last couple of weeks so we could get adequate staffing for the match. That has been accomplished and now I will be working on the squadding. So far everyone's first choice for their schedule has been honored. There are no more Sat full day slots available. The squads 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 are only holding areas so people can confirm they will be shooting on either their first requested choice or their second choice. I apologize that I have not been able to work on the squadding but, this match was in danger of being canceled. Not because a lack of competitors but up until this last weekend we did not have adequate staff to run the match. Like I have said above. We have had a tremendous amount of response to staff the match. So now we will focus on the squadding. Please bear with me a few more days and you will see the squadding starting to take form. Alan
  7. If you notice there are also 10 squads per day that have no shooters, yet. You will start to see movement in squadding next week. There is a notice on the self squadding that explains it some. I was thinking a shotgun start like in a golf tournament, but I know better than that. ;-)
  8. I celebrated the 4th on the 3rd with a 5th once.
  9. Thanks to everyone that has responded so favorably to Seth and Tino. G-man. There will be prizes and we are going to be hitting that real hard in the next couple of weeks. It looks like we should have at least one and maybe two Caspian Hi-Cap frame kits. We already have, 2 Glock Certs, One Sig P226 USPSA Cert. One Springfield Armory 1911GI, One Springfield Armory XDM (the little 9mm), One STI Frame Kit, One STI Aluminum grip. And I will be trying to add as mush as possible. Alan Meek USPSA Area 8 Director
  10. I think you will find the stages challenging but doable. We will see you at the TechWear USA 2010 USPSA Area 8 Championship. Alan
  11. USPSA and the SSC have made an agreement on USPSA distributing slots for the SSN/SSC. The SS Slots will be based on activity credits reported during an established time frame. The final policy will have all of the details and that is what I am waiting for but, the above is the jist of the policy. Alan
  12. I will see if the actual policy is ready for relase. There might have been some late minute editing that needs to be completed. Alan
  13. Where in VA are you located. We have some great USPSA matches in the VA/MD Area that we can point you too. Alan
  14. Hey Mike, welcome to the forums. Sounds like it is time to make the next step to competitor. This Sunday North Mountain (NMPS)is holding a match. You can sign up here Northmountain Registration. NMPS is located west of Strasburg in lebanon church. While this might seem like a drive for you NMPS is a hidden jewel of match, fairly laid back and not too intimidating for new shooters. I will be out there shooting in the morning squads so come on out and shoot an excellent match. Drop me a pm if you need any more information. Alan
  15. If I remember correctly the Import from squadding feature only updates the squad info. It will not add competitors, that is why that option was removed on the self squadding web page
  16. The TechWear USA 2010 Area 8 Championship is only 6 weeks away. There are plenty of slot available for anyone interested in shooting the match. On a more important note, this match is in desperate need of staff. The TechWear USA 2010 Area 8 Championship can not happen and will not be successful with the cadre of dedicated hardworking volunteers that give so much to the match. We still need CRO's, RO's, General Helpers and a crew to build the match the week prior. If you can work even a day it will contribute greatly to the success of the match.
  17. Back in 2004/2005 I developed a real severe pain down my left leg. The pain was so bad I could not walk, sit lie down or even sleep. It was unbearable. I went to my PCP he initially diagnosed it as a tight hamstring. And gave me stretching exercises to perform. That pain then proceeded to get worse with a little from a fellow forum member. (Hey Sterling). And then I was told it was sciatica. The PCP was talking about a herniated disk causing the pain. A trip to the ER and the sciatica would come and go. I did mention to the PCP and the ER staff that back in the mid 80's I fell off a roof of a house under construction and landed on my nail bag with my left buttock. All of them said it had nothing to do with it. A few more years of trips to the ER and then in 2007 I went to the ER one night where an Orthopedic DR was on duty. He discovered that my left leg was 1" shorter than my right and that my left hip was 1" lower than my right hip. He performed a simple chiropractic adjustment and the pain was gone within the week. The next time it returned I went to a chiropractor and in the course of treatments she discovered that my left pelvis was lodged into the tailbone. During the treatments she finally got the pelvis to release and I have not had any pain or recurrences in the last three years. Hmmm, you think the fall mentioned above had anything to do with it. BJ, talk to more than one and even a couple of different areas of expertise. Alan
  18. Years ago when I was living in CA a friend that was an MP and a USPSA member started a LE Match during Law Enforcement Week at the MCLB. He ran the match with a USPSA Style and used USPSA members as the RO's. I took over the match when he left the area. It was a great match while it was only open to LE we would shoot for fun after their match for fun. Gave us an opportunity to build a repoir with the LE and the last year I did the match it actually saved on of the RO's a speeding ticket from a CHP officer that had just won the match. There are quite a few times that USPSA Members and Clubs have supported specialty matches that are not open to all. This is an opportunity for us to market USPSA our clubs and our members. So if I am asked to work a LE/Specialty match that will be run under USPSA style, I am more than happy to volunteer. Alan
  19. Had a chance to spend Monday 28 June 2010 with 100+ Junior Marines at Camp Pickett VA demonstrating the Scholastic Steel Challenge along with Dave Thomas, Scott Moore, Buddy Pittman and and Ed Fitzgerald from Glock. It was a pleasure to meet the future of our country and introduce them to sport of pistol shooting. Edited to correct Ed Fitzgerald's last name.
  20. Reinholdt, Outside of the cracking there was nothing wrong with the first gen frames. I think Jim Anglin actually prefers the 1st gen to the second. The weld job that Caspian had done to build up that area that was prone to cracking was a first rate job and I have not heard of any of the welded frames cracking. Alan
  21. Reinholt, First question is the trigger guard round or square, then look inside the magwell and see if there is a rib that runs down the inside of the front strap. If there is a rib on the inside it would be a first gen and you would need to make sure that it was rewelded at the rear of the trigger guard at the trigger bow. The first gens cracked there. Caspian at the time either repaired ir replced those frames. Other than that all other quality is the same. There are mags that are still the same design as the original and Caspian now has mags based on the Tanfoglio design with base pads that are easier to remove. If you need 170mm mags contact Jim Anglin (Sailors Pistols) her on Enos. Alan
  22. DaG, You can get the spring and follower from either Beven or from Henning. You need to order the follower for the Tanfoglio Alan
  23. Depends, If the previous shooter was shooting a .40 or .45 and you were shooting a .355 and you had a miss on the untapped target and the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then maybe you could get the reshoot. Sorry Alan, but I disagree. You cannot determine if the miss was legitimate or if one .355 round went through one of those .40-.45 caliber holes. Pinman gets a reshoot (and owes me a beer.) I agree, I was pulling Pinmans leg. Alan
  24. You turned on the garbage disposal and it's vibration caused the rice to separate. Alan
