  1. I am in, I tend to look at production results so I have more to measure my SS minor runs.
  2. Should save some words in the WSB.
  3. If the RO corps are being derelict because they don't know what every hammer on every production gun needs to look like I guess you are correct.
  4. Probably because hardly anyone tries. If the gun makes weight and doesn't have a mag well or any other obvious updates they are good to go.
  5. Do you work matches at the chrono table? Do you have any idea how hard it is to know what hammer is legal in every variation of production gun out there is? Do you want to keep up the reference material so the person running chrono will know what every possible legal hammer looks like? Do you know how often there are running changes made on guns? Do you know how many different hammers are available from the CZ Custom shop that are legal on various SP-01's because they come on one version of the gun or another. Do you know how little difference it makes if someone has a non OEM hammer that doesn't change the function of the gun?
  6. That is correct, the issue is how difficult the rules are to enforce.
  7. And most people already work on their production guns a bit.
  8. Dave won Limited Nats with a plastic gun, Nils did the same, Coley is competitive etc...... It really is the indian not the arrow. As to production, I think it is a great division, and this small change won't affect it at all. Some people like to stage plan and reload more than others and we shoot 10 round divisions. I get a kick out of guys shooting open and Limited obsessing about their one mag change. We have one too many 10 round divisions (L10) but.........
  9. There is a post on the USPSA Facebook page that lends a little more light on the subject. TMALSS it is really hard to tell what is an original factory hammer and what is an aftermarket hammer as people like CZ have a bunch of different hammers that come on the guns. I think they got to the point they couldn't enforce it so they scrapped it. Production rules in just about any sport are really hard to enforce unless you are going to have someone with immense knowledge at the crono table.
  10. Can I agree with you and like the ruling at the same time?
  11. If your finished unload and show clear should be the RO's response. Then score as shot.
  12. For USPSA 5.2.2 Is the correct rule. If the magazine has bullets in it there would be a DQ. 10.3.1 doesn't fit as having an empty magazine in the gun is not defined as a safety infraction. Prohibited activities are things like drinking etc. In IDPA I have no idea.
  13. and 8.1.2.2 “Double action” – chamber loaded, hammer fully down or decocked
  14. The range officer is pretty close out of the box.
  15. I read it the same way. I go to matches where the walls are not all that solid. If the wall is in the shooting area and there is a hard lean and I lean on the wall and it moves a little, no big deal. If I go to a match and a wall is pretty solid and I push it a foot or two out of the way so I can make a shot..........
  16. IMHO in this case the barrier did not fail it interfered with by the competitor. There is no reasonable way to construct barriers that can't be moved as they need to be moved to set up and tear down the stage. 4.5.1 uses the word "must" on the interfering and "may" on the procedural. 4.5.1 The competitor must not interfere with the range surface, natural foliage, constructions, props or other range equipment (including targets, target stands and target activators) at any time. Violations may incur one procedural penalty per occurrence at the discretion of the Range Officer.
  17. (;-)) Yep, I had that thought, I could just run into a wall, knock it over, and shoot everything from there. Not a lot of help for the 10 round guys but..........
  18. I think either way he is interfering with the construction of the stage. Most of us have seen gaps in walls and shot though them to save a position. If we move the wall out of the way, that is a different story.
  19. So a shooter can purposely try to destroy the stage to save time? I don't know of many club matches that could have a match if this was true. Even a major would have issues if someone could just tear down a wall to save a shooting position. I think 4.5.1 would come into play if someone is moving walls to get a better shot.
  20. 4.5.1 The competitor must not interfere with the range surface, natural foliage, constructions, props or other range equipment (including targets, target stands and target activators) at any time. Violations may incur one procedural penalty per occurrence at the discretion of the Range Officer.
  21. 99% Saw a guy get popper screwed at a local. It was going down easy for everyone before him. My guess is it got bumped or something. He got there and it failed to go down with 3 close to center hits. He got it to go down by shooting it and while it rocked back shooting it again. I shot it with my 135 PF ammo, hit it dead center of the scoring zone and it took 5 seconds to fall. We made the assumption that it would not go down with 120 pf and gave him a re-shoot. I can't remember breaking the rules before but now I can't say 100%.
  22. One foot closer that causes a person to avoid a lean is probably significant. As the CRO on a stage I look at spots where an advantage could be gained when I first look at the stage. If I find any the RO's and I have a discussion to decide where it's 1 per shot and where its just 1. I think it would be a better rule if it was just 1 per shot all the time.
  23. Once you have a foot in, and don't have a foot touching out, you are good to go. RO needs to understand the rules.
