  1. So I'm working a slow swing shift and thought I would check on the weather for the match. Here is what NWS is saying: Saturday A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Saturday Night A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Sunday A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Sunday Night A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Looking at the long range forecast model their forecast looks about right, real isolated showers and thunderstorms. Temps look good, wind should be fairly light outside of any showers. Anyone know if there is any cell reception at the range?
  2. It's a slow day at work so I pulled up some of the climatological data for the Hot Springs area for October. Avg High Temp 75 Record High Temp 92 Avg Low Temp 53 Record Low Temp 26 On average they get rain 9 days out of the month with an average accumulation of 20.7 inches. October appears to be the area's wetest month averaging 20.7 inches of precip in October so you might want to pack some rain gear just in case. I also got a room booked, staying at the Knight's Inn because I'm cheap.
  3. In my experience I got my thumb caught fairly often when doing a standard weak hand load 4 but I almost never get it caught when doing a load2 and/or quad load.
  4. Thanks for checking. If I understand correctly, it's NOT lefty friendly, correct? Correct
  5. I just got off shift and tore mine down to check. The actual button is reversible but it will continue to function the same either way.
  6. Your best bet is to send it to C-Rums. How much did the spares run you from CZ?
  7. Guess that's the downside of having a gun with only a few aftermarket options...
  8. Since everyone else is sharing I'll throw mine up here.
  9. I have strongly considered that, I'm sitting at ~59% in production...
  10. There are several clubs around here that do classifier matches but with my new job I end up working most weekends so I'm not sure I'll be able to make things line up to make it to one.
  11. You hit one of my concerns right there, I'd hate to spend the time/money to shoot a major match and not even have the (remote) chance of coming home with plaque or something.
  12. So I'm looking at signing up for some major matches. So far I've been shooting production but really want to make the switch to limited or limited 10. With my work schedule I don't think I'll be able to shoot enough classifiers to actually get classified in either of those. Would it be crazy to shoot a major match in a division you are unclassified in? In production right now I'm in C class but one decent classifier should bump me up to B. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
  13. Could someone walk me through the whole 922r thing with the 712?
  14. Looks like Tony at makereadyproshop.com has some of the nordic +3 tubes in stock
  15. Thanks Kirk. I'll be sure to contact you if I have any issues, I'll buy the beer.
  16. Well I just put in an order for one of these, also got a Nordic +4 tube on backorder. Now to just wait for more of the bolt handles to make there way onto the market...
  17. Any updates? I just picked up a 40 Pro that I would love to shoot in production.
  18. It's also really nice to have a baseline for what a "good stage" should feel like. Before this my best stage was at a steel shoot, got a great time but when I heard "unload and show clear" I wasn't sure who had been shooting the gun in my hands. Now I know how it should feel and how it should "look" through my eyes.
  19. So last week I had a horrible match, couldn't concentrate, couldn't hit the targets, and don't think I ever saw my front sight. I had been making a lot of progress in planning stages and in my movement but that last match really threw me off. I figured it was time to try something new, I told myself that I could move as fast as I wanted but I wouldn't pull the trigger unless I was sure I could "see what I needed to see" no matter how long it took me to break my shots. And what do you now... I saw my sights, I got my hits, I really wasn't that slow, and I won Production.
  20. I'd love to get one of the Apex's barrels but I can't wait that long. Last night I ordered a KKM barrel and some other parts from SSS.
  21. One time I "ringed" a barrel on a .22 cal. Shooting rapid fire, a weak load was stuck in the barrel near the muzzle and the following round pushed it out. The barrel bulged (ringed) at the restriction. This happened so fast neither the SO or I caught it. It only became obvious later when I was cleaning the barrel as the cloth wrapped jag was normally tight, then very loose and then tight again moving from the chamber to the muzzle. Is this what you found with your barrel? That's prety close o what happened, there is a visible bulge (or ring) about halfway down the barrel and it happened to be just big enough to not allow the slide to pass over it.
  22. Thanks for the advice everyone, I managed to grind of the sharp corner on the takedown lever and get it to rotate allowing the gun to come apart. Now I just need to take a hard look at my reloading process and order a new barrel and takedown lever.
  23. Looks like the slide is bulged... I managed to get the slide to go forward but it won't retract past the bulge which isn't far enough to get activate the slide release so I'm not sure how I'm going to get the slide off. I tried knocking out the two pins I could and wiggling but it didn't help much at all. Time to put on my thinking cap.
  24. That's where I'm confused, he specifically told me he thought it wasn't a squib but that sure seems like the most likely thing at this point.
