  1. I own both and prefer the Meopta for CQC. In my opinion the Meopta lights up quicker
  2. any chance that the course of fire could support a .22 rim class? 'if i can make it I would like to shoot two guns if possible? Peace
  3. I roll with the thunder. I have tried a few and use the rolling thunder on my modified CA15. Even keeps the piston gun flat.... Peace
  4. Great feedback MarkCO. I appreciate your detail analysis . I am going to order one. Anything to help that followup shot i am game for.
  5. Looking forward to your feedback. I think there is some finish work to get it to run consistently.
  6. I am with Merlin and AlamoShooter. there are times when you will benefit setting up midpoint or even finer adjustment. Merlin's approach is how i setup when taking a site pic.
  7. Thanks for the technical info. I love this discussion as I have talked to shooters that want to mill things down. Me included... to get lighter this or that. The point about the original design having science applied in the design (countless hours and dollars) has to be considered with pressures / forces at work here. I cycle as my second favor hobby and i am ate up with titanium this and carbon that and ceramic bearings everywhere. There are forces at work there as well that if catastrophic failure accrues you get hurt. we need more of this kind of education for us newbies Peace
  8. I bought one from Dawson, You can buy mine. I must have gotten a bad one because is does not feed at all.
  9. Just want to say thanks again for a great match. Nightmare and Maytag worked very hard along with their staff to make this a fun and challenging match. Some of my takeaways: 1. Jamie not only shoots very well he works hard at helping out. He was on me more than once about taping and i appreciate that. 2. JK has worked hard at getting better and that work is paying off. Well done my friend... 3. There are a lot of good carbine tacticians in our great state 4. There are a lot of great people that play this game. 5. There is a lot of dedicated volunteers behind the seen that make this game work. 6. I am getting old and slow but get spanked by guys older than me on a regular basis... so there is some hope. 7. And last, i love to see the young guns coming up in our sport and believe me there are some good ones. Stephen, Cheston, Trip, Derek and others keep working ... you guys got the gift Peace
  10. fantastic match. very challenging and got to shoot a lot.... thanks to the great TEAM work needed by the match team and leadership. I was impressed...thanks guys
  11. app. in the mail. looking forward to shooting with you guys. Don't spank me to bad Ben, I plan to kick Ty in the nuts so he want be an issue. JM like you are pros and like my son... well lets just say you don't want to play catch with him. Peace
  12. I want to get an 22 upper. I currently run a S&W MP .22 rimfire but the feel is just not the same. I even have a JP trigger installed. The unusual or unexpected results when i shoot my rimfire along with my 223 in a local match. ( shots not past 25M) my over all times are within 2 seconds and this is consistent over 10 matches. If i have a purpose built rimfire will i run it faster?
  13. Shot with some boys on Sunday that said they were considering making the trip. I let them know the stages were a lot like the ones Iron Mike puts on... technical and lots of fun... Peace
  14. I hand delivered my app. from SA to CC on Sunday. Then subsequently let my trigger finger send me packing early. I had the dubious honer of being JK's first person to DQ. I love the stages...I am going to bring my A game in Feb. dam trigger finger it never does what i want when i want...peace
  15. I have missed you my friend... Benny tells me you have been very busy. Hope you have had a chance to shoot some. I want to shoot the two carbine matches in cc in feb. are you shooting in them?

  16. I respectfully request you rethink the limit to 4X in tactical as there is a lot of tactical shooters that use greater magnification. I would argue that over 4X benefit are out past 300M. If this is not going to be changed can l promise not to use more then 4X and shoot tactical? Thanks,
  17. I have missed you my friend... Benny tells me you have been very busy. Hope you have had a chance to shoot some. I want to shoot the two carbine matches in cc in feb. are you shooting in them?

  18. just checking as i thought i read that only 1 to 4 in tactical?
  19. I have this scope. Great scope especially when shooting out past 50M. Super software aids for ballistics. I like the Meopta K dot for CQ targets as it lights up quicker for me. But I choose to shoot the Swarovski I too needed the LaRue mount...LaRue makes great stuff...
  20. I am planning on attending this match. One question before i sign up. If i have a 1 to 6 power scope (only one optic) can i shoot tactical and not open? Thanks
  21. I shoot a lot of IDPA , USPSA , carbine, three gun etc... I am not a top shooter by no means... 50%er The carbine match i attended on Sunday in CC was not anywhere close to an IDPA match other then the scoring & that was modified appropriately . Yes, you could shoot over a prop ( where all shots are stated to be shot through the prop) . If you choose to do that i would consider that a considerable advantage thus FTDR. It was not all USPSA rules either, but very close ( hell i air gunned every stage ( ) ) & there were plenty of opportunities to use your brain and shoot the stage various ways; contrary to most IDPA matches. I found the match very challenging and I prefer USPSA style shooting by far. The SO will not determine the outcome For those of you who have shot the great 3G matches at Best of the West then you would enjoy the carbine stages at this match. My 2 cents worth
  22. Many thanks to Mike and team in CC today. Great carbine match with lots of trigger time. If you left your focus mojo at home (me) then you faced the music. Challenging and just physical enough. Looking forward to Feb. Cliff Pennington
  23. 18" is not an issue related to reliability. It is the choice of many top shooters that i have talked to. When you add a comp the balance and overall feel is good. I shoot a custom 18" carbon wrapped barrel with a rolling thunder comp and it works both for weight, accuracy and heat reduction.
  24. are you shooting in this match. This is cliff Pennington
