  1. When I went to register on Sunday, the surveys (they were color coded) for L/P/R and Op/L10 were scattered on the tables outside with no one informing you to fill them out. The only reason I "found" them was I noticed other shooters in line with the form in hand. Got to the registration table and found the hold up was due to shooters filling out the form when they got to the table. Shooters being "nice people" were waiting for the person ahead of them to complete their form(s). Once in awhile someone would see shooters waiting in line and ask for the completed forms then tell you to go ahead of the guy still filling out his form. Felt gipped when I paid for two (2) Nationals and only got one pin (but they did give me two shirts) and no name tag. Took about 6 days and a couple more request to receive my name tag (an expensive one at that ). barry
  2. First time for me at Barry and had a overall good experience, little warm tho and hate ticks Will fly to just about anywhere the Nationals are held since there are no major ranges that I can drive to Variety would be nice as my wife said she will not go back to Barry again (not enough to see or do while I shot for 5 days). Prefer warm weather shooting. Just announce the location as early as possible for vacation and travel plans please. B
  3. Hey Chet, I didn't know it was you & Beth who gave me those DVD's while leaving the Holiday Inn Express, thanks. After getting home and watching them, makes me want to shoot on your squad so I can be in the movies I was very impressed with your editing talents. Do you have just the music? Thanks again. Aloha, Barry
  4. ditto, thanks to all of the hard working R.O.'s working both Nationals in the hot, humid weather. Had one "not too good" experience with an R.O. on stage 14 in the Open Nationals but overall the rest made up for it. Barry
  5. Me too, I thought 18 people in a squad was going to take all day and with the scheduled times to shoot each stage I thought we would be lucky to get out by 7:00pm. But thanks to the R.O.'s who started us early and to the squadmates who all showed up early and help tape between shooters it got us out sooner than expected, but not early enough to visit the vendors for any length of time side note: this is my first major match where I did not have to buy hand/pocket warmers when shooting in the morning Enjoyed the "warm weather" shooting Aloha, Barry A.
  6. Carlos, Sold out...?! What about in 2006? (month?). Might try to make it to your side of the states in 2006. Took us a total of 10.5 hours flying to get home. Was good shooting with you in Barry Aloha, Barry
  7. Glad you had a good time shooting with us Everyone here is welcome to shoot when you come and visit the islands I'll be heading to Barry for a vacation to shoot the Nationals. One week of shooting... don't know if I made a mistake but at least I am kinda use to the heat and humidity Aloha y'all, Barry A.
  8. Alright, looks like the new issue made it to both coasts Now to get it across the Pacific Ocean Maybe next week, this week if we're lucky
  9. The 10 round mags put everyone "here" on the same level as far as mag capacity. Just have to shoot more "A's" and move/reload faster than the other guy One draw back is when we compete where there is no mag capacity ban and reload after firing 10 rounds Will be heading to the Nationals soon and hope to do well (no 10 round ban) Like the others said, just gotta mail order all our parts/accessories, sometimes shipping kills us in the middle of the ocean.
  10. Alex, hmmmmm.... bbq for chocolate mac nuts....shoot, sounds good, gotta bring a coola or going melt in the 94 degree heat sounds like you guys been here before and learned to speak pidgin should be interesting. barry
  11. Hey Alex, Hoping to get some good shooting tips from all of you other "A" shooters in squad 1. Remind me to not reload after firing ten shots . Looking forward to meeting you guys on squad 1 Aloha, Barry
  12. Had and seen cases separate when we switched to the Glock 22 in 1995. We were using Federal .40 180 jhp for training/duty when most of the separations were occurring. It was the brass cases marked FC instead of FEDERAL. The nickel plated cases used with the 180 Hydra-Shok were fine (this is what Federal air shipped to us as a replacement). Since then, I noticed all of the good brass comes with the FEDERAL headstamp (not FC) and no separations occurring since the switch. I use the once fired cases from our Glocks with no problems in my Dawson Practical, just have to use the EGW/Lee undersize-die on the initial sizing.
  13. Mine is on the slow boat, maybe in a couple of weeks
  14. Working on getting my dispute resolved. Found out there is a difference between an "unauthorized charge" and a "fraudulent charge". There are two different departments (at MBNA) one for, disputed/unauthorized charges and one for fraudulent charges. Was told of a timeline policy between VISA and MBNA for disputed charges but they were not able to send me anything in writing So they cancelled my dispute and put the charges back on. The fraud department was very nice and seemingly helpful, will find out in the next billing cycle or two.
  15. I'm shooting a Dawson Practical Advantage STI gun in .40. It can shoot Federal American Eagle 180fmj's pretty okay. I'll try to see if some company can ship to my hotel. Thanks for the info.
  16. Got my slots for the Open and Limited Nationals. Need to find a source of ammunition for .40 limited. Was told it would be almost impossible to pickup a quantity of ammunition from Illinois or Missouri due to restrictions (FOID required). Airlines will only accept 11lbs. The PMC deal likely will not happen for the Nationals. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  17. Got an e-mail from Kim yesterday and called her this a.m. for my Limited slot (sign up time was 07:47am) so I'll be shooting both Nationals if I can find a way to get my limited .40 ammo there. Heard it's really difficult to purchase ammo in both IL and MO, need some FOID or something . Anyone has any ideas? UPS/FedEx will be about $100.00+ for shipping.
  18. Anyone know about walk-ons for the Limited Nationals? Already have a slot for the Open and signed up for the Limited waitlist but very late at 07:00am. Since I'll be traveling halfway across the world to get there, wanted to try and shoot both matches.
  19. If you need to have the grip size reduced, go with Shanahan. He did three of my guns and they work great. He makes them in different "textures" too.

    LAX

Waited in line @ LAX to check-in with American Airlines for 2 hours 15 minutes for my flight home (missed it and had to take a later flight) and then another 30+ minutes for TSA screening of bag and person. Also, had really poor customer service from AA personnel at LAX, was told to go back and wait in line again, some of them hide their i.d. badges (backwards)
  21. I forgot to add, the serrations on my gun are the narrower cut. Looks like he uses two different styles in his signature line.
  22. I have a Practical Advantage of his Practical Series. The serrations work well and are easy to clean out unlike some of the other "fine" serrations. He does really nice work. The only thing I don't like is the front serrations are cut all the way through the bottom edge of the slide and the rear serrrations are not (they stop just short of the edge). I wish I could post a pic so you could see it. It doesn't hamper anything, it's just that they look "different".
  23. Got them (Converse) from Brigade Quartermasters go to: www.actiongear.com (sorry, don't know how to do the link thing yet) and they do come in a "shoe" version too (something like 14 different combinations in style and color and zipper). Only had them for a month and looks like they will last for awhile. I like the rounded heel on them too.
  24. I have the Converse 6" boot and they are really comfortable and half the price of Oakleys. They also come in a low cut shoe and an 8" boot and a zipper model and in black or tan. Feels just as good as the Oakleys and they don't squeak when wet.
  25. 7.7 gr 7625 with a 121 gr HAP, OAL of 1.135 made a 170 pf at home and 174 pf at Area I this year.
