  1. Eric, try again next year? barry
  2. Kewl, thanks Al. Will try to make it there, just wanted to find out ahead of time if the stages would be worth it. Just didn't want to feel like I was shooting at a big "club match" like previously at another range. Hope to make it, so far cheapest r/t airfare is about $670.00 plus tax and fees which would put it in the $700 range. Thanks again, Barry
  3. Anyone have a clue as to what type of stages this club is known for? (i.e. mostly field courses; mostly stand and shoot short courses; mostly speed shoots....) Will it be like a big club match? barry
  4. Hey Steve H., Congrats on your finish and this is with RO'ing too, good shooting. Spoke to Craig S. today and he will be sending me some info. Stay safe, Barry
  5. Rika, I think your ideas are on the money. I have noticed the same things when I shoot i.e. mesh barricades, short distances, closely spaced targets. Another observation I made was on this stage you didn't have to go back and forth to different shooting positions constantly. This tends to throw me off a little (like forgeting to engage a hidden target Rudy's Big Top). Next major match, I'll use Steve Anderson's sheet on breaking down a stage (available on his website as a pdf file). As I found out, the diagrams in the match booklet were worthless for planning how to shoot the stages. Looks like your knee is doing a lot better and congratulations on your placement Aloha, Barry
  6. Thanks to all of those, especially the CRO's and RO's, responsible for making the 2005 Area 2 match a success This one was more challenging than the last one I attended in 2002. The stage designers really made you work on the bigger stages Squad 10, was nice to meet all of you and was great to see other shooters I've met before. Hope to get in again next year Aloha y-all, Barry
  7. What gun did you fire it in? We use to have lots of problems with the FC cases in our Glock 22's. Mostly blew out the extractor, never had one destroy a gun. No problems with the Federal stamped cases. barry
  8. We carry the X26 in the exoskeleton holster and mandated to carry on the support side. Up to the individual if they want support side draw or cross draw. Got instructor training on the M26 and then the X26 and got hit by both 5 seconds feel really long Like the X26 better for the shaped pulse technology and the higher pulse rate. I my X26 barry

  10. My pins rotate and haven't noticed any accelerated wear or problems. You can polish up the pin where it is covered by the hammer and enlarge the center groove of the pin, just leave the ends alone. It's the "J" spring in the hammer that is grabbing the pin and holding the pin in the receiver. Or, you can remove the "J" spring from the hammer and buy those "anti-walk" pins that some company makes (forgot who) but you willl have those "arms" connecting the two pins (hammer & trigger) showing on the out side of the receiver. Hope this helps. barry
  11. You mean Thursday the 10th? Yup, after I register I'll be checking the stages as/after the staff shoots barry
  12. Got an e-mail response from Paul C. and they don't know if it will be posted...yet. But, I'll be there Thursday to check out the stages barry
  13. I prefer the nickel cases because I can get them free , they are faster to clean and shine up in the tumbler, easier to resize, looks purty for a longer time than brass barry
  14. Hauoli la hanau......dudes aloha, barry
  15. There are quite a few differences between the "Police" and "Express" model. Police model: goes through a 23 station check list built in a special build area with all parts hand inspected has a longer mag spring for positive feeding heavier sear spring (heavier trigger pull) heavier carrier dog spring to keep the lifter up no ISS (intergrated safety system/key lock on safety button) shorter fore end so fits in a gun rack parkerized or high luster blue finish receiver is vibra honed to smooth out surface barrel has ball detent for retention machined ejector and extractor $$ Express model: need to drill out the dimples to add on mag extension beadblast blue finish synthetic trigger housing synthetic mag spring retainer for barrel retention powder metal cast ejector and extractor $ The Express is a good gun, I just wouldn't use it for duty. I am not a Remington rep but went to armorer's school and got this info from them. All 870's can be fitted with the flexi-tab system if you want. For competition stuff, the Express is fine. Maybe you find a nice cheap used one as a competition gun doesn't stay stock very long and gets a lot of parts replaced anyway. Used ones have the action smoothed from use. barry
  16. x2 Still waiting for the mailman to deliver mine Cost of living in paradise eta: Got them yesterday, stayed up late to watch most of it. I liked the superimposed images when comparing two shooters. They make it look so easy barry
  17. I have a Dawson Practical Advantage and I like it a lot. When I ordered it, I was able to speak to Dave and went down the list of what I wanted to add. Took almost two months longer than estimated for it to be delivered due to plating. Everyone is really nice on the phone and had my order for a shirt and other stuff get messed up. Was in the Shooters Club but they send the flyer out late and the sale stuff is already past the expiration date and they won't honor it. Bulk mail so no longer in the Shooters Club. I want to get a Brazos one day as Bob is always at the big matches and always has the time to answer questions. barry
  18. You get the prize - earlier versions did not have 2 notches on the bolt. They do now, and the rear most notch must be modified in order to occomplish the task. 5Shot <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, Benelli modified the "bolt" because some people complained it was "not safe" Was told this at armorer's school ba
  19. Would the guns be covered by the homeowners insurance policy? If not, I would try to turn them in to the local PD and get a copy of the property report with s/n as proof of disposal (just in case).
  20. That's what I would do "if" I were to shoot in this new ss division I still have a nib Colt Govt series 80 in the safe and a dozen 10 rd mags...hmmmm barry
  21. KK, Thanks, that is really good to know about the Duramax. Makes me feel better about spending a bunch of $$$. Always been a Chevy/GMC fan. But I drive a V-10 Excursion for work barry
  22. Yes, I would try one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> me too
