  1. CZ Custom said they’ll only do the relief cuts if it’s already cracked.
  2. 9 months and Honcho is on the island. Picking it up next week.
  3. I’m waiting for mine. Checked with other owners and they liked the gun. While waiting I seen a few posted for sale. The price I paid when they have sales were really close to what the used ones are going for. Thought of picking up a spare but the ones for sale were setup with barrels I won’t use.
  4. This is information I got from Cajun GW last week prior to me sending my frame to them. How to Ship a Firearm to CGW.pdf
  5. I got a notification from CGW a few days ago to send in my frame. Said turn around time is 8 weeks. Hopefully not that long as I want to use it for a production match in February 2023. I didn’t ask how much it would cost. I stripped most of the internals except for the mag catch and trigger bar spring. I have to ship it overnight and that will probably be pricey.
  6. Yup they run in my Colt 1911 Competition. All stock pistol with a magwell and using Brownells mags.
  7. I’ve been bringing a back up open gun to all my matches for the last 12 years at least. I only needed to break it out once after my red dot windage shifted. The most recent use of my back up gun was last weekend at the Area 2 match when my shooting partners gun started having major issues on the first day. The next two days I let him use my backup gun to salvage the rest of his match. Travel costs were in excess of $2K and having a working backup gun was a good move.
  8. I was there and glad I had a red dot. I liked the challenges all the stages provided, even the swinging steel plates and double target swinger with a no shoot. These stages initially looked intimidating when viewed from the spectator area, but once I got to where I would be shooting at these moving targets it wasn’t as intimidating as I first thought. The last handful of years shooting this match was like shooting a large club match and getting a little boring. This year I thoroughly enjoyed all the stages and saw my squad shoot each stage using multiple options (except for the desert run stages, just had to shoot on the run fast). Hope stages at this match will continue to provide a shooting challenge like they did this year. If you design stages where the challenge is who can shoot and move faster (everyone shooting the same plan) then it becomes more of a physical challenge. As a senior shooter I appreciate the multiple options on shooting each stage and if I can hit swinging targets better than some other shooters then I have the advantage.
  9. I CasePro my cases for the same reasons they said (above). Results show on match day when others have malfunctions mostly caused by ammo issues.
  10. The CasePro doesn’t resize the full length. You’ll see the case mouth becomes oval as the case starts rolling between the sizing plates. This doesn’t resize the case as a sizing die does. I used to use the Undersize dies but the die would scrape the brass. That’s why I went with the CasePro. I now use a standard Dillon resizing die. My process is to deprime the case, wet tumble, CasePro them, lube when I resize and load. Loads are consistent and pass the case gauge.
  11. I just ordered one. Introductory pricing until the end of September and a discount on the case prep tools.
  12. Which Lucas gun oil? I’m feeling better about my decision to order a Honcho. I clean my guns after every match unlike some of my friends who only clean when they start having malfunctions because a good gun should be able to go 500 + rounds without a malfunction
  13. I just emailed Cajun Gun Works for details and will post it here when I receive a reply.
  14. Congratulations! Keep on learning and support the sport.
  15. I’m waiting for mine. Ordered in April 2022 and paid in full May 2022. Getting mine in all black DLC.
  16. I chose the aggressive over the regular. Tried the regular tread grip and it felt off. When I got the aggressive I said it would take a while to get used to the aggressive grip. After using it and getting used to it (draws, reloads and weak hand shooting) I definitely made the right choice. Dry fire practice with draws started sanding off some skin. Got used to that too. I had my grip Cerakoted and that reduced the sharpness of the points. If I needed the texture reduced I would have used a thicker coating of Cerakote. Future grips for me will be with the aggressive texture.
  17. I’m really hoping this range happens as I want to visit SD soon. Thanks for the info.
  18. Just make sure they all fit the gauge.
  19. No you’re not crazy. Seen a few guys who done this route and had no issues reloading.
  20. Good luck. I’m still waiting for mine in black DLC
  21. We still use tape. I personally prefer the pasters since they stick better. Because with tape, shooters tear off strips of tape, attach them to their pants, then peel off the tape, patch targets, return tape to their pants. After a couple of times doing that, the tape doesn’t stick as well to the targets. Then there’s the guys who rip pieces of tape and stick them to the side of the tape roll. This allows dirt and debris to stick to those pieces. This shows up when shots hit the taped areas and the tape peels away making it difficult to ascertain which hole counts. Was told that the pasters create more trash as shooters throw the paper backing into the buckets instead of the trash can. I’m glad major matches use pasters. Although I have heard one MD complain of the number of pasters being used or taken.
  22. Same thing has recently started at our club. Used to have guys pick up all the brass, then pick out your brass and scoop up what went unclaimed. I guess guys got tired of picking up other peoples brass while they wait in the shade. Now people, including me, just pick up their own and call it a day. Some guys just leave their brass because either they have to go to work or they have so much brass they don’t bother or they don’t plan on reloading. Myself and a couple others shoot Starline 38 SC so we help each other find their brass.
