Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I agree with beven grams, nothing dumber than going CLICK because you were empty and had no clue! I have shot m class limited 7 years now. The only thing on my gun that is deactivated is the grip safety. What you need is to have your gun tuned by a good gunsmith. My gun will feed every round and will not jam! I have a sv 5 inch bbl Dawson front sight Bomar rear sight Dawson ice mag well Sv mag tubes Grams spring+followers
  2. I have two 1050s and one 550. 1. 1050 in 40s+w 2. 1050 in 38sup. 3. 550 with 11 tool heads in all other cal. i shoot
  3. Before I got in to ipsc, I shot bowling pins. I learned the hard way that if you want to see the pins fall fast, watch someone else shoot!! If you want your pins to fall fast watch your FRONT SIGHTS!!! The pins will magically disappear. Because pins are set about 23-25 ft. away, I have always been fast up close to targets. That has been the hardest thing to over come. Past 25 ft. I had the habit of shooting at the same speed as up close. Watching the front sight is the key. Your shots will be there. Last year at the fl. St. match I was shooting my own game and doing very well. Sat. night I woke up at about 1 am. And thought I might just win master class!! Next day, I tried to shoot a little faster just to make sure. I gave up 120 points in penalties! (Still came in 3rd. master LOL)
  4. I have 2 1050`s 1 in 40 s+w and 1 in 38 sup. I also have my first reloader, a 550 with 11 tool heads!! by all means go with the 550 unless you only use 1 or 2 tool heads. if you do get a 650, may as well go all the way and get top of the line..1050. i mean its only money!! LOL .
  5. When I go to a match (be it local or major) I watch others in my class shoot, but try not to obsess over their performance. I just want to see if they found a new way to shoot a stage and can I use this info. If my mind set is to beat them I will lose. If I just do the best I can and watch my sights, I do well! Before I got in to ipsc 18 yrs. Ago, I shot bowling pins. I usually won!! I did this by not worrying about the others. One trick I used was when I left the house I did not bring extra ammo. Shooting 5 pins in auto+revolver class I’d only load 4 8 round mags for my 45 auto for 3 runs on the table + 1 to top off. In revolver (44mag) i1d load 6 rounds + put 2 rounds on the table to reload! The idea was to make me concentrate on my shooting and nothing else!! My worst stages in ipsc is when I worry how I will do, my best is when I forget to worry. This year I won a stage (overall) at fl. St. using a limited gun because I forgot to worry. Next stage I trashed because I tried to do it again!! My 2 cents.
  6. If you are not good at dissecting a course of fire, watch someone better on your squad walk thru the stage. If you have any questions, ask him or her! Just don’t be a nuisance!! LOL I remember when I first started shooting I had no clue how to shoot a stage. After over 18 years, I can take one look and see how to do it ( most times!). I don’t mind telling others how to shoot a stage. Just don’t stand in my way wile I try to see what to do!!!LOL The idea of rotating the order works well we do it at all major matches we go to (my wife and I).
  7. I had a great time!! fun stages, good folks + lots of crash+burn`s I went down in flames so bad, I think someone called search+rescue!
  8. 50 yd standards..now thats! the way to go!! LOL mabey some prone for good luck!!!
  9. I use 5.7 gr. n340 , 180 gr. zero jhp. it works very well for me. 1.20 oal. I use this load in a sv heavy dust cover ,bbl, tungston guide rod. I switch back and forth from open + limited. this way the guns weigh close to the same. btw...I can shoot both at the same speed
  10. I had a 450 when they first came out. it was great!! then the 550 came out ! ( the 450 now sucked! LOL). I have 11 tool heads for the 550. then I got a 1050..then two. havent used the 550 in years. put a case feeder on it and i wiil be very happy!!
  11. I have used 7625 for 5 or more years(125 gr. jhp). I am trying 115`s. what powder do you use for these two? that is to say what do you use for 115`s and what do you use for 125`s? just wondering
  12. I have two 1050`s. one in 40 s+w and one in 38 super. I use the large feed plates. I think it gives a little more room to drop. my 1050`s have one speed only..fast!
  13. I have been useing 7625 for over 5 years in my supers. very clean. I use 8.0 gr. 125 jhp. I can use 115`s but..almost compresed load! lot to lot very close fps.
  14. and use very light oil. I use mil-tec. works very well
