  1. This is out of my M&P40 full size. 180 gr. lead 3.6 WST 1.140 OAL Avg 808 ES 57 SD 17
  2. I work in the golf industry and I used to have the same concept of not watching others swing (now I don't play as much so it doesn't matter). Sometimes you will see tendencies that you just should not copy and by watching them sometimes you will. In shooting though you should be watching the course of fire and stage breakdown and not really their speed or draw.
  3. I use WST for my lead minor load and I am working on WSF for my lead major load. If you shoot fmj then you should be able to make major with WST and a 5" barrel, just find out your max oal to can use and increase your powder up slowly. I know a guy that only used to shoot with M&P40 4.25 and shoot major using WST, but I never could get him to give me his final load data, he gave me a starting and just told me to work up from there. I will see if I can find it, but I think that I lost it last year when my computer crashed.
  4. I load with a Lee Pro 1000 and started loading 40 and never had a problem except for the first/last couple on length. It was a real eye opener when I switched over to 9mm. I was having difficulty getting a consistent length until I was told that it was normal with 9mm to be off a little bit. Since then I have moved my base from 1.135 up to 1.140 and now I might have some anywhere between 1.136-1.143. I have chronoed several difference rounds to see how consistent I was and my largest standard deviation was only 12. Now I am not pushing the limit by any means so I am definitely on the safe side, but if you are getting close to max then I would look at something more precise.

    Wife's b'day

Make her a necklace and earring using casings. Show her you know had to make more than just ammo.
  6. A while back I read about the European American Armory Witness Limited or Limited Pro being a good gun if you didn't want to have to drop a lot of money on a STI or similar gun. For around $1200 new you can get the gun and mags that are ready to go for Limited division. It's not a bad price if you want the 2011 feel. I know that after I got my M&P I dropped another $350 on getting my gun ready to compete in Limited. I was looking at going this direction until I decided that I didn't want to waste my time right now getting used to a 1911/2011 feel. As for a comparison I liked my M&P40 4.25" better than I like my Glock 34 (same as the 35) as far a ergonomics. I just got a M&P9 Pro Series and after shooting it, I am going to get a M&P40 Pro Series when I switch back to shooting Limited. I don't where you live, but I had Mike Cyrwus at Accurate Iron in Jones, OK do all of the work on my gun and it is awesome. What ever gun you get I would say save some money and have him do competition job on it. I took too long writing my ideas. :-)
  7. I saw this last night on their website and did some research today to find out more about it. I finally decide to order one and looks like everyone else had the same idea, they are on backordered. Guess I will have to wait a little while.
  8. I'm not bashing on Mossberg, b/c I have an old 5500 that has close to 20,000 rounds in the last 20 years and only changed the firing pin once, but you would think that Smith and Wesson would come out with their own shotgun that runs, or atleast buy a companies design that does.
  9. What about running a 1100 magnum? I have one that I hunt with that has the two port 2 3/4" barrel. Does anyone know how these guns would work in three gun?
  10. PV has some great prices and normally has what I need in stock.
  11. Well Buds just called me this morning to tell me that the pistol got sold in store and that the website only updates every 20mins. So I'm just going to have to keep an eye out for one or just get the 4.25".
  12. Right now I'm using versa mag pouches, but also have some ready tactical from when I had my glock 34. I just added some soft sided velcro to the inside of both to make the fit just right.
  13. I just ordered a used one this morning from buds for $489. They had the nib 40l w/ ns for only $399, but when I logged in it must of gotten sold. I saw that just a few minutes ago that they had a 9 pro in stock.
  14. Are you talking Major (165) or Minor (125)??? If it's major, your gonna have a hard time making it in .40 with WST. I would go with WSF. I loaded MG 180 CMJ's for the longest time with 4.1 WST at 1.125 OAL great load accurate and soft shooting. That is mid range and at about 850 FPS out of a G23, nowhere near major... even at max published charge in any weight bullet for the .40 does it rate to reach major. Major (165PF) is what I am talking about. I am loading 200 gr. lead J&K Bullets. I know it can be done because the guy that get the bullets from shoots it in his Glock 22 only using 3.8 of WST, 1.135 OAL. I am trying to see if anyone knows a published max that I should stay under. My Lee book only shows a starting of 3.5. I am going to try out some WSF with some 180 Precision Delta FMJ to see if I can get a good jacketed round for shooting indoors.
  15. I have decided to order a Lee Adjustable Charge Bar and then I should be able to use the same size disc with it and make 4.0. Since I am new to shooting USPSA, I am not competing in major match for a while I will just get as close as I can for now. When I get really serious about competing I will make sure that I have a buffer margin to make major.
  16. I am very new to reloading and have found a lot of info for reloading using WST and I really like it. What I am running into is that my Lee Modern Reloading manual second edition says starting for 200 grain lead is 3.5 of WST min OAL of 1.100, but doesn't give a maximum. I know a guy shooting a Glock 22 with a Lonewolf Barrel that shoots 4.0 WST with 1.135 and just makes max pf. Since my barrel is only 4.25 compared to his 4.5 I think that I might have to go up to 4.1 WST to make major pf, but I don't know what my maximum amount that I can go up to is. Do anybody have any load info that has tried to shoot 200 grain lead with 4.1 of WST and an OAL of 1.135 that they have tried or that they have seen in any books, etc... I am reloading right now with a Lee Pro 1000 using the .46 auto disc. My next step would be going to the .49 which would yield 4.1.
