  1. A rifle only match may have its own set of rules and divisions. But you could start on the USPSA website. https://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-rules.php
  2. My GMR 13 runs like a sewing machine but of course its top dollar. I ran a JR Carbine for two Ironmans, it is inexpensive but has some downsides. A bear to take down and clean. Must clean every 300 rounds to be reliable. No mag stop so going mag supported causes misfeeds.
  3. Anyone know the sign in times and location for the Semi Pro match?
  4. There are 10rd mag divisions. No handicap since you are shooting against similar gear competitors. If you are worried about speed go featureless. Check out a local match and then make up your mind.
  5. Your local Home Depot or Lowes will have screws and taps. IIRC, it is either 6/32 or 8/32. Just bring it with you and test it out.
  6. Is it OK if you break the 180 with a slung rifle?
  7. It showed as a .dat on my phone but a functional pdf on my PC. Hope that helps.
  8. The MGM Ironman is known for these slug targets. 1 Full power 1500fps hit to the bottom plate get it over. At your match I would have fired two slugs and then if unsuccessful I would have ran up to the spinner for the birdshot. 1 round of 3" Prairie Storm gets it over or three rounds of 1250fps 1 1/8 7.5's.
  9. I have 6 of them. 223, 308, slugs, pistols. They run and hold zero just fine. Click stops are not as nice as an aimpoint but at $75 its hard to beat.
  10. IIRC, the manual calls for 3 dram minimum. I hold my M2 just like I hold a rifle.
  11. Round count: Four hits per spinner with slugs. I always wondered why I came back with so many slugs. I have been firing one and skipping it or using 1 full power slug to get it over.
  12. I have seen a primer in the gas key stop up an AR.
  13. Sweet rig. Any chance you can get an ETA on a lightweight 308 BCG from AP?
  14. Not buying the JP lower was a personal preference. I like to chose my own buttstock and grip. I also wanted to chose my own trigger but it seems that the 9mm bolt only works with full face milspec hammers. My geissele trigger would not reset. I called JP and they confirmed this.
  15. Thats a lot of questions. The last 3 years I used a JR Carbine. Ran Pretty well, gets dirty, action gets gum'd up after about 300 rounds. Why, Inexpensive. This year I went the GMR13 on a QC10 lower route. So far it runs like a sewing machine. Why, I wanted to splurge. I use an Eotech because I really like the 65 MOA ring. You dont really need magnification unless you are going to use the PCC for rifle targets. According to the interwebs the BHO breaks easily so most people just bypass it. Try not to shoot to empty Buying a gun plus 33rd mags may be expensive to you, so think about it and then decide. IMHO, the PCC makes trooper. But I am not a very good pistol shooter. If you can shoot a triple plate rack fast with a pistol, then maybe stick with the pistol.
  16. If you are taking input, I would be more than happy if the zipline was optional again. Also no mystery stage so it doesn't get dropped for the ST shooters.
  17. You can access the ammo can at anytime. Per the rules you must carry all your gear when moving, except during the stage and to go to lunch if on the range. Last year I had to hump it back to the shack. Wont make that mistake again. For some reason I underestimated my 9mm needs that day.
  18. I think I asked last year but I will ask again. How does the 180 rule apply to a cold slung rifle? Like stage 5 last year. Shoot the first portion PCC, clear and sling, run, shoot shotgun, and reengage with PCC.
  19. The ammo can is a gimme stored in the trooper stack. You dont have to hump it around. People may tell you what they have brought before but choosing your own is part of the fun. Travis creates an awesome match and he would say "Bring everything you can carry". Yes, start exercising now. Carry a LR gun. The last three years I have shot a JR Carbine in 9mm. This year I did upgrade to a GMR-13. PCC makes trooper, IMHO. Again this is part of the fun. If you want it to be a field exercise, bring a shotgun, a rifle, and a pistol. If you really want to game the division bring two shotguns, two rifles, a PCC and a pistol. Just a tip: Gun selection is a small piece of the puzzle. Logistics is the real challenge. How much to bring? How to carry? How to get ready? The match moves fast and you need to be ready stage to stage. Some years it rains. Some years it is beating hot. Trooper is an awesome division.
