  1. Paul, I noticed the 1.200's kinda had a little hitch in feeding. These 1.180's are like butter in comparison. I had a problematic mag and switching to the 1.180's the issues went away. I think we have a winner!
  2. They are more consistent for one. They seem to be a bit hotter, but not much. You should have good luck with them.
  3. The other day I heard this Gem: "Federal Gold Medal Match isn't capable of making 1000 yard shots, you would have to pull all the bullets and weigh them first" bwahahaha! Tell that to the guys at Camp Perry who used it for years
  4. I am curious whether or not there are any other Brothers who participate in the shooting sports out there? Stop by and say hello! Fraternal Greetings, Greg Graham - SD Seaside #419 Myrtle Beach SC
  5. + 1 for Anthill's matches. They are top rate for USPSA, Steel Challenge and IDPA. The monthly USPSA match is akin to shooting a Sectional every month, very challenging stages, lots of long/tight shots. I have only shot one match at Buccaneer and it was an IDPA match about two years ago. It was a so/so match it seemed like they were just getting started with IDPA, hopefully they are doing better now!
  6. Thanks Geoff! Working hard pays off man. You are going to shoot Sunday, right?
  7. Chris, Lots of great stuff here, i'll be reading for a while! I can see you have the drive and determination to go wherever you want to go in shooting! Keep up the good work! And FYI: I am really jealous of you having a range in your back yard! The shortest drive for me to shoot/practice is an hour away!
  8. Hey Chris, thanks for stopping by. The SVI is new to me I found it here in the classifieds. It shoots pretty darned sweet, much better than I do. Thank you again for your kind words, getting to B was a chore. My coach said that 90% of people who come into this sport never make it any higher than C because they refuse to put the work in(took me a year and change). I didn't want to be that guy so I started hitting it pretty hard with dry fire and live fire. It's hard work but worth it. There have been times I was feeling burned out but I kept pushing(probably too much) through it. Definitely agree, very lucky to have a good coach. I don't always understand what he is doing or why he is having me do something, as soon as I just do it it starts making sense. Now the race is on for A class but first, I need to become a real solid B and do some work! I'll be checking your diary out and keeping an eye on you!
  9. I highly doubt you will feel much difference between the two magwells. I would go with the heavier one, in conjunction with the new guide rod you'll see a marked difference. For what it's worth, I have both the Zev Heavy and Light magwells and also the heavy and light inserts. The heavier of both got my vote.
  10. Dawson's are the most durable and they are easy to remove. I have never had an issue with any of my Dawson pads and to date I have 12 of them.
  11. Thanks for the replies, great to know. Thank you!
  12. Awesome resource, thanks for posting it up!
  13. I have the double dry fire kit from C&M. They were absolutely fantastic to deal with. I put my order in and the next day Charlie sent me an email notifying me that he had sent the kit out. They use an honor system which was really surprising, I sent my check the next day so the targets and check were in transit the same time. The targets are very high quality thick cardboard. I will certainly use them again when I need more targets! Two thumbs way up for C&M!
  14. I have a quick question, tried searching to no avail. My question is: Is it mandatory that a Level 1 match have a classifier at each match? I would think that not having one would discourage people from attending in most cases. Classifiers are a big part of the appeal to many.
  15. Hell yeah! Hit B @ 64% from 56% last month. Hard Work pays off, thank you Coach Konkapot!
  16. Congrats, very well done! I just finally hit B @ 64.38%!! Last update I was 56%, I wasn't expecting such a huge swing, sweet.
  17. You're correct. There will always be people like that, someday it will catch up to them!
  18. I just shot Pucker Factor a couple of weeks ago at 99%. Any other really hard ones? Ok, but: CAN YOU DO IT AGAIN? On demand, that is?
  19. I wonder if anyone even reads this thing?
  20. So my coach asked me yesterday if I ever get the feeling like I am burned out. My answer was: Yes, I get spun out at times. But I will never get to M or GM sitting on my ass whining about it. Look at Bruce Lee, he was always training. He was amazing in the sense that he could apply the most simple of task to martial arts training. That's what I have been doing lately. When a gun is not in my hand, I am trying to find ways to apply my normal daily tasks towards shooting. I'll admit that there have been times when I get sick of shooting this or shooting that. But each new day starts with fresh motivation and a new lease on life. I am really encouraged by getting a great load working for my new SVI, I feel like I have ironed out all the niggling little things and there are very few if any distractions left. Now the focus is shifting back to hard work, disciplined practice to create repeatable on-demand performance. Going to get a little more strict on my diet as I kinda slacked a wee bit in the past two weeks. I had never had a sweet tooth up until recently, that's got to stop. Draws with the new gun are smoothing out. I am hitting 1.2 par times with room to spare without really rushing or getting wild. Reloads are too easy. That big magwell really makes reloads simple, I had to back off and just do real slow and deliberate reloads in dry fire. If I keep up doing the super fast reloads, it will come back to bite me one day when I get sloppy. Shot with my Coach Sunday, I was screwing up on a 30-35 yard target big time. with about a 60% hit ratio. not good. I kept wanting to shoot in a cadence rather than take the necessary time to make hits at that distance. My coach revamped my live fire routine and pushed all of my distances back considerably. This will make me slow down and get all my hits. I need to start looking at Majors now, I would like to hit 3 more Majors this year. We'll see.
  21. 30 yard + Bill drills & El presidente's. Partial targets!? Classifier CM-09-04 Pucker Factor. I admire your dedication, I am practicing hard but not anywhere near M level yet. Hopefully I will be there soon! Keep it up man!
  22. This is a sweet thread. Thanks for all the insight guys. Just replaced the springs in all five of my Brazos mags, the follower sticking up & out kinda irritates me. Hopefully they will settle after keeping them loaded a few days. I have never had to deal with that, so not running the gun dry will be a challenge. Thanks!
