  1. Trojan.... Mine shoots 1.5" groups off hand at 25 yards with zero 125gr. JHP's. Runs flawless with Wilson 10 round mags. Just had my gunsmith fit the Trojan top end with a wide body 2011 frame I had laying around, was able to do it without touching the slide rails, so it goes back and forth from frame to frame, Trojan to Eagle, with no parts change... SWEET! Doug
  2. Here's my two, Gene Morin out of Sutherlin OR built these for Him and I a few months before Limited Nats in 2009, both are tight, smooth, soft, accurate and run full out.
  3. DeeOoGee.... I love it!!! When we get a dog, THAT will be its name!!
  4. Where does the knife come into play? .... does it attach somewhere?
  5. Thanks for the info on CDI but I had already contacted Surgeon who referred me to GAP, who I kinda was thinking was where I was going to end up anyway, and they, GAP, told me to send it and they would do it. Problem Solved. Thanks, Doug
  6. Greetings to all you powers that know... I am building my first MOR and ran into first snag.... Ordered a Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist Stock, OD green, black spider web, looks great. Looked at all the bottom metal from HS, Badger, Surgeon etc.. and really like the Surgeon so I ordered it and it too looks great, and I think they will look awesome together....SMALL problem... they dont fit together. Stock Opening is way too narrow, Length looks about right but probably nees some opened up there too. My question... who should I have do the install.... how costly is this. Im Thinking for the cost of the stock, the bottom metal and the installation price I could have gotten an AI or a Mcree Precision stock and been done with it. Anyway... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Doug
  7. "Great people, great stages & good weather - Awesome Match" +1 Great tune up match for IRC 10', in 10 months(the next time ill shoot revolver)
  8. Anyone of you who have used Red Dot, Unique or Tight Group loads compared them to 120pf bullseye loads for felt recoil and accuracy. Im using 158gr. Bear Creeks with 3.2 of bullseye at 1.135 OAL in Starline SC brass. I was getting 1 1/2 groups at 23 yards the other day(set the target, shot the groups and then measured distance ) Thanks, Doug
  9. Hey I know this is timely but does anyone who is coming tomorrow have any spare 38 short colt moon clips I can beg borrow or buy for Starline Short Colt brass. I recently switched over and didnt know I was going to go to this match till the last minute and of course didnt order my moonclips in time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Seeya All tomorrow. 10. "I personally will not wait for it to stop turning." Chuck, you barely wait for the bullet to leave the barrell! Doug
  11. So I saw in the National stages, which are now up btw, they had several "Max Turner's" How are these diff. than the usual turners... anyone have any pictures or better yet video of how these operate. Thanks in advance. Doug
  12. Congrats to Ryan Leonard... Top Junior, 15th Overall!
  13. 4.5 seconds... Now mark your being much too hard on yourself, your reloads are deffinately in the 2 to 2.5 range, I've witnessed them. You can down an omlet at Margie's in 4.5 seonds, something I've also witnessed
  14. Just asking,Are you with a police department? And wouldnt it be a liability issue if you or anyother members carried these pistols built on CCF frames? Sounds like it would be like me using handloaded ammo for self-defense! ( Not a good idea) Just curious. Jeff Jeff, Yes I am with that police department and have been an armorer / Firearms Trainer for 10+ years(stopped counting after 10). I can't think of why it would be a liability issue if the weapons end up being more reliable than what we started with, meaning the issues we are having with the new 3rd Gen guns with Tac lights and reliability issues with them. Course I am not an attorney nor do I specialize in Liability, other than day to day patrol type liability, so I could be very wrong, my Sergeant would say it wasn't the first time. We are just trying to find a solution to the problem that neither Glock or the Ammunition companies can fix. BTW, just went to my 3rd Glock Armorer's recert last week.... we ran the problems we are having with the 3rd Gen guns / the problems we weren't having with the 2nd Gen. Gun and the steps we had taken to try and resolve the problem ourselves, ammo, springs - mag & recoil, all suggested by manufactuer to cure the problem, and the success we had with the CCF frames, by the contract instructor from Glock. He didnt have have an answer and was puzzled too, covered his Glock shirt patch with his hand and said, "the things arent perfect". I dont think it would be like using handloaded ammo. CCF is an established company, it's not like their in their bathroom making them in the bathtub, oh wait that's Meth. Like I said we were looking for some options, we are in the very early stages and still just shooting the dog pi$$ out of them trying to put as much wear and tear on them as possible to see how they hold up... but reading above it sounds like some people are having good results with the frames with far more rounds than anyone of our guns would see in the weapons lifetime, which is about 1K a year for 10 years which is our replacement time frame. Doug
  15. Recently my department requested two of CCF's frames for T&E with the 1911 grip. This was in response to trying to find a possible solution to the 3rd generation grip frame not fitting everyone's hand the same, and it possibly affecting qualification scores... please dont get me started, I am not a policy maker, just a problem solver(sights, trigger, squeeze, not jerk, duh), and this was not my idea... ANNNNYYYYYWWWAAAYYYY, we received two frames, on in SS and the other Aluminum. We assembed the two frames with our 3rd gen G22's and the only other part we swapped out, other than the frames of course, was, we used CCF's recoil guide/spring assembly. Took the guns to the range and ran 500 rounds through each, the boss said goto the range and shoot the crap out of these, and I said, ummmmm OK!. The SS frame ran flawlessly, no problems of any kind, and this was with zero lubrication on the frame, there may have been some inside the slide we put on it but that was it. This was not intentional but we figured out that we forgot to lube them after we started shooting them and said, lets see how they run. The Aluminum frame ran flawlessly with me the first mag and then handed it off to another shooter who started having failure to go into battery problems, large hands, high thumbs, may have been dragging on slide. Stripped the gun oiled it up and then shot 470 more rounds through it and it ran flawlessly as well. Threw a G35 slide on both frames at different times throughout the 500 rounds each that had a tungsten recoil guide, I think it was a T.H.E., with a non captured spring. Again flawless, both frames. Put my G34 slide on both guns with tungsten guide rod, 11lb non captured spring and 127pf ammo and ran 100 total between both springs, again flawless with the .40 cal ejector in both frames. The 1000 rounds we ran through the two frames was 155gr. Blazer, which chronoed at 192PF out of the G22 barrel. I like the aluminum frame, the SS is just too heavy, it weighs 2 ounces more empty than my G22 with TLR-1 tactical light and 16 rounds of ammo in it. The additional beavertail area that is on the CCF frames makes the guns more enjoyable to shoot as I cant go 5 rounds without slicing my large hands open with my duty gun. The other issue the frames solved that I saw was that we have had problems with some members having FTF problems while firing their G22's one handed either unsupported or while using flashlight techniques. We have changed mag springs, recoil springs, at Glocks suggestion and gone to hotter ammunition. Glock says its a ammunition issue and the ammunition company says its a frame flex issue with the glocks and tactical lights. Either way, we did not experience any of the problems we were having with the glocks when we used the CCF frames with tactical lights attached. Not endorsing anything one way or the other, just sharing my experience with ya. Doug Oh, one other thing, the anodizing on the aluminum frame does not hold up well while wearing a tungsten carbide ring on your strong hand, just FYI
  16. I did the same thing, went to 10 round mags, from 17 rounders, because I didnt want to load the 11th round. Had problems with the 10 rounders immediately. Went back to the 17's and now load out of 100 round box, one row one mag. After a stage, unload shot magazines completely and load back up, one row one mag, maybe a little anal and time consuming, but hey it works. Doug
  17. Ok you got me curious, what part would you be measuring.. ie what dimension should i be looking at not being legal? Thanks, Doug
  18. Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, and I honestly did do a search to see if it had been and didnt find anything. That being said, is this Blade Tech mag pouch legal for USPSA Single Stack division? And to save a bunch of peoples replies.... yes I know it has to be positioned on the belt in the right spot I was more curious if the double stacked nature of the thing made it illegal. I looked at the SS rules / provisions and didnt see anything that would keep it from being. Thanks in advance, Doug http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/Pro...UAD%20MAG%20POU
  19. Greetings, Am looking for some Tech Info on the Targetmaster.... what is the thickness of the dustcover of the frame? Is it the same thickness as a standard 2011 frame? Thanks in Advance, Doug
  20. Better than I would have thought with a borrowed gun
  21. This was my first time shooting this match, being at this range and second ICORE match ever, stages were great and challenging(ive' never had to sight with my left eye so I could get a better view of the targets through a port) for those of you who shot stage 1, you know what I mean. The match people were great and our squad mom's, Dave and Rich, were entertaining and helpful. Prize table was awesome for only a 64 person match. Would have loved to beat John Bagakis, but I watched him shoot a couple of stages and he was on fire, he shot a great match. Looking forward to next year. Doug
  22. What do you want for that old, useless, kicked to the curb, gamey(does it stink real bad?) 8 shot, .38super(is that still a caliber?) revolver. It cant be worth more than a couple bucks Doug
