  1. Quicksdraw, My Daughter had a brain tumor a few years ago. She is well and we now have a Grandson. May God look after Mike and your family. Our prayers are with you. Bob.
  2. Why do some losses hit me harder than others? For example, Earnhart, Lady Di, and the Captain? Maybe I fear my eventual demise, and the world changing. Bob
  3. These ears are 3-4 years old (with a lot of NC sweat). I checked the batteries, cleaned the (somewhat green) contacts with a pencil eraser and the right ear still doesn't work. Called the customer relations department lady today and she kinda-sorta told me to send them back, but she hinted maybe the cost for repair might steer me to buy another pair... ? Anybody had any good/ bad dealings with Peltor? Thanks in advance - Bob.
  4. Round here, the guy down at the gun store told me them folks from California is known as the Granola State! The land of - the land of -..... .... well ya'll, a moderator might shut me off here.... Bob from NC
  5. I installed this excellent front sight about a year ago for my Para and love it. I did not receive instructions with the kit and cannot remember how to correctly install a new fiber optic, or a procedure to remove it. Remove it from hammer to muzzle end? I could go get another beer and experiment, but don't want to break the sight. Should you square the shooter end with a file? Melt the rod at the muzzle end? Thanks in advance, Bob.
  6. Y'all do know that true North Carolina hickory smoked barbeque pork is served with a vinegar based sauce, and not that nasty tomato based stuff, and, when served on a bun, cole slaw is added. That's eastern NC barbeque, not that trashy stuff they serve out west of Raleigh.
  7. Comedy Central Channel http://www.comcentral.com/tv_shows/search_results.jhtml 1/18/2004 1130 PM All Times ET/PT 1/19/2004 730 PM All Times ET/PT A wonderful documentary. Regards,
  8. Is "Dances with Kimbers" now to be "Dances with Throphies"? Congrats.... Bob
  9. Agreed. Saw it the other night and like to laughed my hindparts off. I think them boys are from Georgia and 'Bama. Ain't got no kinfolk that squirrelly, but some of the folks at work tell me some of the same type stories. Bob - from NC.
  10. Shooting a Para 40 caliber limited (C class, B class wannabe) I'm learning that you should add weight to the pistol via tungsten guide rod, magwell, spring retainer. However, you should use faster burning powders to make the gun cycle faster, creating a snappier type feel to the recoil. Seems to be a contradiction to this 50+ year old rookie. Why add weight but then cancel it with fast powders? Thanks for your advice in advance, Bob

    Queer As A $3 Bill

Only in America can a cute black kid turn into an ugly white woman.
  12. Based on some of his other posts about skateboard tape and chocks..... should his name be drafty aka thunderbuns?
  13. Budweiser Grandkids The good people on BE's forum. Paraords Bushmaster Benelli Budweiser
  14. Thanks again Bill. Spoke to Dave today and he was very concerned about a possible problem and will repair or replace. It's great doing business with folks like that. Regards, Bob. God, I love this forum. Thanks Brian.
  15. Whoops, I typed EGW instead of DMW. I'll call SSI tomorrow and get DMW's phone number. I can't find it on a Google search, and am enough of an (old) rookie to not know what the acronym means. Thanks much for the input BillL223. Bob.
  16. Lucas, it fits flush to the end of my 21 inch barrel. Based on previous posts, that is not too long for your 18 1/2" barrel. The extension has .430" of thread and there is .470" of thread left in the collar. I have an old HK Benelli and suspect there was a revision in leade or process change in threading. The machining on the EGW extension is outstanding. I ran a box and a half of cheap shells through it yesterday with no hangups. I still might consider cutting off 1 1/2 threads to get the extension to seat on the collar. - ? Regards, Bob.
  17. Sent an AR upper to Compass Lake for a float tube and a threading for a Miculek comp and it was delivered 20 miles away 6 days before it finally arrived at Compass Lake. It won't be back for a 3 gun match I'm going to this weekend. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH! An M1 carbine is not the weapon of choice for 3 gun.....
  18. Just received a +5 magazine extension from SSI to replace my +4 Benelli extension. The new extension jams or stops about .090/.100 from seating on the collar. I removed the small burrs, the OD and root of the thread mikes OK and the threads are not footballed. Appears to be leade on the threads... any one else have this problem? Thanks in advance, Bob.

    Why Men Die First

And if a man is in the woods...... with no women around..... and says something..... is he still wrong?
  20. I have a question for one of you USPSA lawyer types. I have a Benelli that has a 4 round extension. I can load 7 in the mag tube, 1 under the bolt, and 1 chambered for a total of 9. I feel this is a disadvantage because if I fire four rounds at an array, and move to the next array, I am only able to load 3 rounds to top off the magazine for a total of 8 in the gun. Would it be against the rules if I ordered an extension that would allow me to hold 8 in the magazine? Obviously I could load 10 total, but I am a nice guy and would never, never cheat. Thanks for your advice. Bob.

  22. I sit down to pee since I started having back problems and my Doctor told me not to lift nothing heavy..........
  23. I've been trying to save a couple hundred bucks for an Ed Brown bull barrel to reduce muzzle flip. I noticed in Front Sight Mr. Londrigan of Brazos says a tungsten guide rod actually adds 2 oz. as apposed to a bull barrel only adding 1 1/2 oz. Am I missing something, or is a sixty dollar invesment for a tungsten guide rod with EGW a better choice? By the way I'm a 50+year old C class wannabe. Thanks in advance. Bob.
