Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Please see my comment above to one of our other forum members. Thanks for the kind comments! Gt
  2. iksyotas, I see you note. Was this just posted recently? Says Tuesday... If recently, I'll see if I can find images taken much earlier and attach them here. Gt
  3. I shot the pistol for 8 weeks at our club weekly events. Frankly, it shoots like a BB gun with Minor 40 loads. I put a 7.5 lb spring in the gun before shooting the matches. It has been shot at Major loads also but not in a match as of yet with a 10 lb recoil spring - again, it shoots so smooth it's hard to believe a person is shooting Major PF. There's another match coming up in two weeks where I'll be blasting using and trying Federal 205 grain factory ammo through the pistol, can't wait. I have a friend that picked-up a 9 mm in the Orange configuration - it shoots like a BB gun also. This particular CZ configuration shoots extremely well in 9 or 40 cal. If you manage to find one, save or steel the money to buy it - you won't be disappointed. Gt
  4. Robert... Frankly, I don't know precisely what he does, but it is a two coat process - that's all I know about it. GregT
  5. rlrock... I see you're looking for popple holes - how about a gun that already has popple holes? I've got a couple I'd gladly get rid of, cheap, with a lot of extras.
  6. Covfefe: I will get it done.... I'm thinking some time with-in the next two weeks. Fasthenk65: Ninety-Nine percent CZ for sure. CZ has really beeen stepping-up their game. HalfB... Once again, me thinks CZ is doing a great job in the market place. Nice designs and functionality. Cheby: Frankly, I'm surprised too, it's just a cheap Fugi camera... probably 8-9 years old now but still responds well to light, aperture, and lens speed settings. Funny thing, I treat it like an old rag, just throw it around, but like Timex... "It just keeps on ticking". GregT
  7. Coctomus.... Front site is actually Red. Don't know why it appears Orangish in one of the image's. Thanks for the comments! Greg T
  8. Something new for me, a 40 Cal CZ Orange! Haven't had a big bore (Sort of.) handgun in 30 years, always been 9mm. Did the usual in making it fit my hand and shooting style. Ordered a LH Paddle Safety from CZ Custom, promptly modified it to make it usable for my taste and installed it. (Not that there’s anything wrong with the LH Safety as received.) Modified the RH stock safety lever at the same time, reinstalled it also. Modified the Mag Well and added one of my Thumb Rest’s. The Thumb rest, as it was designed, fit only the Czechmate, had to have some tuning to get it to fit the recess in the Orange frame, but turned out well. One of my shooting friends added the goldish finish to complement the other orange parts on the pistol. As of this posting haven’t shot the gun yet, but soon.
  9. my00wrx1... Yes, they would repair the pistol, I think -- If I sent it in again. I'm not sending these guns anywhere for repair, here's why: Last barrel lug break, sent pistol for repair, they did so, but replaced the extractor(There was nothing wrong with the extractor.) and replaced the barrel. On the barrel, they inlet and re-contoured the chamber mouth making it more like a funnel, destroying a brand new barrel and unusable for an open gun. I bought another barrel from CZ Custom and replaced the barrel by CZ USA and am happy with the gun after doing my own fitting and such. No, didn't modify the recoil rod. That black portion you see on the rod is a CZ USA Shock Buff designed for the gun --- didn't solve anything, just a nuisance. G
  10. Yup, another barrel, another fractured barrel lug. I'm beginning to think I'm jinxed. Slide looks bent but it's just the macro lens doing it's thing. Thought I'd use a CZ shock buff in the gun but to know avail. Talked with CZ USA and they wanted me to send the whole gun back --- again, I didn't want to do that. I've ordered, received and fit-up a new barrel for the pistol. At my cost, of course. They told me there was no problem with the design, I don't believe that for a second. I can't, however, be too hard on the CZ brand, they deliver product that I'm very happy to have in my inventory. The new barrel does have an increased radius at the front of the barrel lug, which I was happy to see. I'm currently working with a different powder thinking that the Auto Comp my be delivering too much velocity and stress on the barrel lug. Later, GregT
  11. Adamge... Thanks for the up-date -- just ordered two from CZ-USA.
  12. I am brand new to the Czechmate. can i use the recoil spring form my sp-01 or is it a specific length/ width outside the standard 75 width?

    CZ Open

In my earlier post, the above is what I said -- however, it should read: kneeling... Yes, I can now definitely feel the slide hitting the frame, a sensation I didn't feel at all before modifying the comp. GregT
