Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The real question is " Will the GS remember setting the records?" Lol
  2. This is the first time Ive been on the forum for over 6 years. The new format doesnt concern me, but I do worry that new shooters and shooters out of the top 16 have a loooonnnngggg wait to the presentation dinner. Also, they are giving up a whole week as they shoot midweek. A better format would be have everybody shooting over the weekend and the top 16 shooting off on the Sunday or Monday
  3. Beware of the long grass guys!!! He shot a car in the practice range in 2009 as well!!!
  4. Ok, insurance done, cars booked - all done Jimbo - good luck - only leave the paperwork til last when on the toilet
  5. 13 days to go before SSAA team gets on the plane. Ammo loaded and packed, travel insurance not done, cars not booked, but hey, we will be there soon!!!
  6. Damian, Iain Buchanan, Competitor #176 is not on the list.
  7. If you got 17 people to the cup, there would be no one left in NZ to turn the lights out.
  8. Damien, you have Frank Tait entered twice- numbers 118 and 126.
  9. As I travel from OS it doesnt really matter, however if it stays on Memorial day weekend it would be better for locals if shooting finished Sun and travel home holiday mon. 3 days is a long time for people shooting 1 gun. In Aus we have changed things a little so that only 2 gun shooters shoot 3 days and 1 gun shooters 2 days. 2 full days of shooting would give you 240 competitors and the third day would allow 120 shooting a 2nd gun- this is based on mover through put. We try and shoot 2nd gun in one day (4 events) to get it out of the way, and then all competitors are competing equally with their primary gun. Therefore based on Memorial day weekend, a 1 gun shooter could fly in fri night shoot 2 days, presentation sun night and fly home mon.
  10. Oh boy, why did you have to go there?? There has been alot of talk over the last 3 years about altering the 4 matches shot, and at the end of the day, the shooters voiced strongly that they supported the exisiting matches. In the past they have run the upper mover as well for the lower grades and therefore the through put is much greater. Realistically you are looking at about 60 competitors per day per mover, and with 200 competitors, 2 days is all you need. The problem with Bianchi is the super thin string they use on the corroded pullies that are not maintained, and the constant breakdowns. This will get me in trouble, but that is the truth of the matter.
  11. What a fantastic information guide. Well done NRA!!
  12. Ok, I understand what Kevin and Richard have said and agree, but will try and explain a bit better. 1. Stand with most of your weight in left leg, which is slightly in front of right leg 2. Draw gun and get the muzzle well out in front and near parallel to ground 3 . Bend left leg and at the same time place left hand on mat and kick the right leg back. 4. left hand and right leg take your weight while the left leg is kicked backwards and the right hand and gun are placed in their final position 5. do not slide right arm as wife does not believe the explanation for the carpet burns. 6. finally, grunt like an unfit hog, and you should be pretty right from here. 7. grunting is optional if you are under 40 and fit.
  13. Kevin, I can still picture that hole in the target. If only you could carry your own targets the the score shed. You would have won easily LMAO
