i sorta wish they were doing this all differently. a p226 with a dot NOT_SAO would be great for USPSA production. a p226 SAO in 40 would be awesome for USPSA limited. I suppose a p226 can handle 9mm major OK for open? turns out i could probably use this in CO...

i had no idea that a SAO p226 with red-dot cut was coming. I bought a Legion SAO but had I known...
  3. i have an SAO Legion and i'm currently debating picking up a used .40 "upper" for it so i can shoot major VS just leaving it as is. It's a joy to shoot but the lack of magwell etc make me feel at a gear disadvantage with all the Limited cool-gun 2011s
  4. that was doofy, i asked them to mail me an extractor but NOOOOO, i had to mail the whole unit into them. took like 2 weeks?
  5. the extractor on my broke 300 rounds in, but it's run like a champ since i send the bolt back to them for repair
  6. ^THIS you can built a free float gun w/ keymod tube for like $650. Toss in a nice trigger and an optic. They sell glock 33rd mags. Barney it and as long as you have no Mikes you'll never need to re-load.
  7. Limited is the place to be if you're shooting .40 and no one is making minor ammo for you. Some people actually prefer the shorter slide
  8. plenty of people make "M" with a glock 35, it's probably the most economical choice at like $850 for a good used rig with all the bells. Even with the glock in cost are the RIA/armscor 1911s in 40. but then you get into spendy mags and trigger job magic. for about 2x that you can get into the CZ Tac sports. to me after that it's all a blur of $5k + 2011 builds that seem to all blow up at exactly the wrong time
  9. i think it'd be a hoot to shoot so i'm in. that said, records will be set for DQs due to breaking the 180
  10. I use peripheral vision to track the front sight on the draw like a "regular" gun, but i focus on the target, prep the trigger, the dot *appears* , and I shoot. I typically death grip the pistol so the dot comes back fast and to the same spot as it can be tricky to track through the glass under recoil (slide mounted)
  11. cheaper than anything you have to feed or buy gas for. way more expensive than just about anything involving a couch/table unless you're into super big ticket booze. there's a reason all the broke folks i know play video-games all day, the dolar to hour ratio is unbeatable.
  12. my buddy shoots every match after working a night-shift security job. He gets to sleep there but it's only like 4 hours and not exactly restful. he then pounds 2 monsters and several marlboro lights. He's always top three a local matches. so there might be something to it
  13. very long story very short. gained lotta fat, exercized, tracked calories, no joy. see dr. lotta tests. "dude everything is bad, here's a special diet" 6 months later i'm down from 228 at 33% body fat to 204 at 25% move faster sleep better everything better DIET: Ketogenic max 20g carbs a day most calories from fat moderate protein no artificial anything NO BOOZE. TL;DR stop eating carbs, start eating fat, you'll shrink and you can run stages faster.
  14. i'm in. I shot a classifier and came out a LOW B, so this should be fun... CARRYOPTICS Class: B Pct: 64.36 High Pct: 64.36
  15. no reason to live in BodyMore if you're working Ft. Meade. It's not close and not safe, especially since you're practically disarmed in MD. I'm working DC living in VA. The commute to Meade is rough from everywhere in the area just because of the nature of being a DC burb. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions about the area. I also have a few buddies in Baltimore Proper who can answer specific questions about neighborhoods etc. if you're committed to that area.
  16. i might be out of my lane here, but i think you're boned for a production gun. "technically" the frame and slide need to be from the same gun, which would mean the non-matching serial numbers would be a give away. On a local level I can't imagine any one cares, but there are rule-lawyers everywhere.
  17. So I'm going to start shooting CO and am debating between a glock and (now that the weight limits are raised) a CZ shadow. I carry a glock 19 w. a RMR daily and I compete in limited with a g35. Am I giving up anything by staying glock or is the weight/ergo of the shadow enough to validate using it? I have a shadow and getting the slide milled seems like heresy, but those springer type mounts are just too high. If I do go glock I've got a g17 and g35 who are both candidates. I assume the longer sight radius is irrelevant so I should go w/ the 17? Lastly, am i better of sending it out to get milled or should I just buy a MOS gun? thanks!
  18. good to know, I had L&M do my glock for RMR maybe 5 years ago and it's been a champ.
  19. I'm thinking VP9 in carry optics next year. I know it can be done, but who's the best for it? have VP9 millers figured out how to do pylons like the glock folks do? thanks!
  20. i had mark at L&M do my carry glock 19 about 4 years ago. excellent work and a real joy to deal with. I quite like the Unity ATOM mounts (LM, ROBAR) as well, but the labor is nearly $300 and you need a $50 mount.

    glock 19 gen 3

gen 4 if you like the beavertails. otherwise get whatever is cheaper.
  22. This plus the fact Suarez is a felon means that I'll never buy a suarez product
  23. I'm super pumped for this division. My carry gun is a g19 with a RMR and no other non-sense, so asside from the 10rd mags it's both fun and "practical" for me.
  24. did the mount hang off the nose of the gun? It seems like there is a 1/2" too much mount.
