  1. How exactly is it going to get screwed up? You can still shoot whatever you have now and its been proven that 2011s are an advantage over other guns.
  2. Limited guns are $4-8k too nowadays. You're going to have $500-750 saving in building a slide ride 2011 vs. an open gun once the dust settles with most builders.
  3. What are you talking about? If you're designing legal stages they're always 8 shot arrays max.
  4. True but that's not a reason to create a whole new division.
  5. So you want to intentionally handicap the division so people can't shoot 'better' guns that match the name of the division to tee and instead make another division lol. Why are you scared of 2011s?
  6. I can stuff 24+1 in a 142mm mag in open of 9mm and that isn't really even tuned so I'm assuming you can get 24 reloadable maybe 25+1? In limited 40 cal guys are running 21+1 or even 22+1 in 2011s... From talking to the CZ and Glock guys they're at 20+1.

  8. Because people are scared of single action triggers and USPSA catering to gun builders.
  9. SV is attempting to start a new sport/matches to compete with USPSA lol.
  10. The real issue though with SAOs is 2011s have a higher capacity than other double stacks. Its why they're more common than Glocks, CZs, and Tanfos, in limited and open. There is something to be said about that. Trigger won't matter... extra round or 2 will.
  11. What evidence do you have of this? I am asking as an actual inquiry as when I looked at it the availability of reloading supplies and the flooding of the whole country with gun purchases in the late Obama years seem to sprout growth in shooting sports/guns overall. Is there data of new USPSA numbers and them going into CO?
  12. That's because CO poached shooters from other divisions. It wasn't natural growth but its here to stay. I'm with you though.... put SAOs in CO. Then all the timmies will have place to shoot the 1-3 matches they'll ever partake in in their entire lifetime lol. It won't change s#!t and the idea that SA trigger are some massive advantage has been proven to be wrong time and time again in production and CO.
  13. I'm ok with this... put 2011s with dots where they belong. In Open. Regarding tactical timmies, etc. If those people can't be bothered to purchase equipment to make them competitive in 'our' sport...why are we catering to them and changing what we have? This sport had its biggest and most consistent growth when rules were consistent. The worst thing you can do for an amateur sport is continuously change things. It doesn't create more members and it just drives people away.
  14. But that's exactly what you're doing though. You're catering to the gun market by creating a division for those guns to not have to compete against open guns.
  15. This would make the most sense but it would still have the same results of poaching other divisions. The idea that SAO are an advantage is a fallacy that I wish people would get over. The bigger issue I see is that you weight of the gun though... you can roll up with a 60oz gun in CO if you allow SAOs in CO.
  16. Who cares about the massive civilian population. USPSA is a competitive sport with a set of rules that people adhere to if they want to shoot it. Same as any other shooting discipline. This idea that we need to cater to what the world does only came up with the previous administration wanted to grow massive funds to raise their own incomes. Its not in my opinion, its in the rules. If you put a dot on a gun, you go it open. So like I said, we have a place for people who want to shooot 2011s with slide mounted optics. Open.
  17. They can shoot those in revolver though. Since its a revolver. And a LO is a gun with a dot, dots belong in open.
  18. SS was bound to die. Production died because USPSA created CO. You want to do that to limited guns and open guns? USPSA already has a division for model Ts, its called Revo and SS LOLOLOL.
  19. L10 should not be a thing and SS was never going to make it because like you said tech advances and no one buys 1911s anymore... but that's a whole separate discussion. To your point.. current divisions should reflect tech changes. They already do, you can shoot a SAO 2011 with a slide mounted optic in open. So why not do we need LO?
  20. No we are back to the not f*#king over existing members with existing gear to cater to newbies and gun manufacturers. You're not saving open or limited, it works fine now and doesn't need saving. You're going to kill it like CO killed production.
  21. Yes because you're going to have 1000s of members with existing gear that will go obsolete because the division will die. You see how that's a problem right?
  22. Lets also not forget the fact that STI turned Staccato and turned their back on the competition world. SV is basically trying to create a sport/matches to compete with USPSA...and you guys want to make a division that will hand them money for the foreseeable future.
  23. If LO becomes a thing, major will die. You will kill limited the same CO killed production. You will slowly erode open as you'll have 'almost' open with LO and people will slowly opt out of loading 9 major/building open guns and instead build 2011s with dots on the slide.
  24. Why are so many of you concerned about "a place" to put new shooters? New shooters show up with what they have, they get put in limited or open if they can't go into production or CO. They shoot their first match(es) and they figure out wtf they want to do and adjust their equipment accordingly. Its what EVERYONE has done. Why do you guys want to make a 'competitive' division for newbies? Why do you guys want to make a division for people who can't be bother to buy a gun to be competitive in an existing division? You're going to screw over current members in open, limited, and probably CO... in efforts to allow the random timmies or people who bought a SAO slide ride gun to have a safe space to play in.
