  1. the bolt handle on mine comes almost all the way back into the groove. It doesn't quite touch the back. It sounds like the bolt is bottoming out on the back of the reciever. So, sounds like yours is just like mine. <_< Hand cycle rounds through it and see if they feed properly. If yes, then try a live one. TXAG

  2. You will get there. You will know it is right when the bullets won't set back before you crimp them. Try seating a bullet with your new die and pull it out of the press. Push nose of bullet against your bench with themb, see how much if any it sets back. Don't be afraid to push hard. If it doesn't move. Just use the FCD to smooth out the rough spots and you are GOLDEN! :D TXAG

  3. I am having to commute with a fellow employee(53 years of age and a chain smoker) back and forth from Austin to College Station daily for work. I have been doing most(well all) of the driving. It gets old listening to him snore while I drive so I gave him the keys on the way home this afternoon. Holy shit! I have never been so scared in my life! No less than 4 vehicles were almost rear ended before we got to Elgin! Everything in the back of our work van was in the front or on the dash. I made the comment that he needed to pay more attention to the road and less to his lighter, cigs, and the road-side scenary. I swear he accelarates when he should be braking and vise versa. I thought my mother made me nervous when I road with her and she is 64. He was on the "drunk bumps" all the way home(yellow and white ones)! And speed, 75 to 80mph. He seemed to be offended by me commenting on his poor driving. And when his cell phone rang, cig in mouth, I saw my life flashing before my eyes. What gives, you want to drive like an idiot, do it by yourself and on a lonely deserated road somewhere. Needless to say, I will be doing ALL the driving from now on. He can sort out the material in the van and snore all he wants from the passanger seat! TX"GOOD DRIVER"AG

  4. I can't find the topic that I posted more than a year ago either and I was the one who posted it. I had my gunsmith turn mine down. My bullets won't set back now even before I crimp them. I really don't "crimp" them, I just take out the bell with the Lee FCD. You could use my name for a search and read up on it. I had all kinds all measurements throughout the whole ordeal. The smaller powder die will definately help. TXAG

  5. I knew the punch line before I got to it but I was still laughing my ass off. Good one Merlin. Will look for your front sight during the match today. TXAG

  6. This whole topic was well documented somewhere in this forum. I had the same problems with my 40 reloads. I had two separate 40 belling/powder dies for my 550. One measured .398 the other was slightly smaller. I had one turned down to .393. It fixed all my bullet set back problems. I finish all loads with a Lee factory crimp die and have had no problems since! Wooohoooo! TXAG

  7. I have owned 2 550's for over two years and have yet to deal with Dillon customer service. Here how great it is but haven't had any problems so far. :D TXAG
