  1. What little I have shot shotgun stages the 7.5s worked great at 20yds or less. There was no hesitation on laying down steel plates or poppers. TXAG
  2. Why would this post be killed? It is in the "stock gun" posts? We aren't talking about anything political!? Anyway I will be going to the local shop tomorrow after work. Been having withdrawels lately. 12 hour work days have kept me away. I really don't want to carry a revolver. I want max rounds in a small package. I really can't conceal my G35 or P16 so next best thing is a smallish auto. The STIs are out of the question. I refuse to pay that much for a carry gun. I am having a hard time looking at $500 for something I won't shoot that much. I have other gun dreams also. The Kahr to me fits my hand better than a G26/27. I just need to handle some of the smaller autos and see what feels good to me. TXAG
  3. What ever happen to the Colt Pony? I thought that would be a nice carry gun. Guess that went the way of everything else Colt use to make. I don't have a problem with 9mm. Yes, the new ammo is quite impressive over the old ball or even JHP of the past. I don't have a problem carrying a 1911 on my hip cocked and locked. Don't really want one concealed. I really like the steel frame Kahr but they aren't light. I will go to the local shop and check out the Baby Glocks and holsters. I might change my mind. I haven't shot a S&W auto in years. I haven't really even seen one in the stores. I will give them a look too. Thanks guys. TXAG
  4. I will soon be looking to purchase a carry gun. I will be looking at the Kahr polymer frame .40. I have also looked at the Keltec in 9mm. I will not carry anything less a 9mm. As much as I shoot 1911s I don't really want to carry a single action pistol. I like Glocks but they are really thick and the 26,27 just doesn't do it for me. I don't know why? Anything else I should look at? As of now I am leaning towards the Kahr in 40, maybe 9mm. I have shot the steel frame Kahr 40 and loved it. Good trigger and very accurate for a smallish pistol. TXAG
  5. Don't take the MkII apart unless you really know what you are doing. Best suggestion is remove the grips and hose it with gun scrubber. I took mine apart once and it cost me $130 to fix I love my Mk II. Accurate, reliable and looks damn good too. Good choice, hope you enjoy it. TXAG
  6. I have had friends take the steroid shots for back problems. Helped one of them, didn't do crap for the other. Seems like a hit and miss treatment for back pain. I have had back pain for 16 years. When I can't get out of bed, guess I will have to look in to pain treatment . Good luck with what ever you decide. TXAG
  7. A sporter barrel will heat up quickly. THe first shot or two from a clean barrel usually will not hit point of aim with the subsequent shots. Couple of fowling shots for starters will solve that. If the barrels is to hot to hold on to don't shoot it. Let it cool down between shots. Bedding the action and making sure it is completely floated will help. If all this doesn't help a new barrel and trueing the action will help. Good luck. TXAG
  8. Texas A&M University, class of '93= texasag93 Easy 'nough. TXAG
  9. 12.50 a pound! I pay about 17 or so. Small towns, no competition on price I guess. TXAG
  10. I don't have any 1st class seat to give up(haven't flown commercial in years)but I do thank every service man and woman I see for what they have done. Thanks guys. TXAG
  11. Yes, the economy is good now, gun business included. Sometimes things are worth the wait. TXAG
  12. A Lee Factory crimp die will take those little "imperfections" out of all your loads. I love mine in 40. I shoot alot of once fired Glock brass. It is a life saver. You said you were loading on a 550 correct? Grinding down your sizing die slightly will help with bulges in once fired brass. Hope this helps. TXAG
  13. Prior to each reloading session I use a Q-tip soaked with One Shot and run it around the inside of each die. Usually get alot of crude out of them. Makes things run much smoother. I will take all my dies out and completely clean them every 3000 rounds or so. TXAG
  14. This is still going? I gave up a long time ago. I know...quitter! I have a very short attention sp.......an. TXAG
  15. Magellan and Columbia make the long or short sleeve fishing shirts that are vented in the back. I buy mine at Academy or Bass Pro in Texas. They are very cool and and dry quickly in a light breeze. They come in many bright colors too. I love to fish and shoot in them during the hot summer months.
  16. Pen 3, running ME 386 MB RAM .....and a bunch of other crap that mostly works some of the time. Need to upgrade but why? It will all become outdated by the time I learn how to use it. TXAG
  17. I want a variable (2-10x40mm) w/ 30mm tube. It would have a graduated reticle w/ each graduation independantly adjustable for elevation. It would also have a built-in laser range finder (to 1200yds. +/- 2ft. would work). Night vision capable would be a nice option. Must weigh less than 32oz. Is there one of these available for less than a grand? If so, where? This is not for anything in particular, just for my varmint rifle. TXAG
  18. Eric, have you read my favorite things on my bio. I am a perv. TXAG
  19. traded my 22 for a 35. Favorite load is 4.3 of Tight Group with a 180 gr. Zero JHP. That is a major load for Limited though. TXAG
  20. I know whether I would sleep with a woman within 30 seconds of meeting her. Most people do too, whether they admit it or not. Human nature. Some supress it better than others. TXAG
  21. 550B over the SDB. I have two and love them. One for small primer and one large. Caliber changes are a breeze. Die options are much better for the 550B as well. Can't go wrong with the 550B for the $$$. TXAG
  22. It was veritcal! Upside down matters? TXAG
