  1. A Dan Wesson .357. Barrel wouldn't stay tight. Spit lead horribly, and then broke. Traded it as was for a S&W 586. Still have that one. TXAG
  2. I tumble thousands of pieces at a time and keep it in a five gallon bucket. I throw dirty brass in another bucket. When the clean is gone I tumble again. Easy to tell how many times brass has been reloaded. TXAG
  3. The weapon uses a laser ranging system that programs the round to detinate at a specified distance. You could send the round through a window and have it detinate just inside the room. Good for our troops, bad for the bad guys. The program I saw on History channel had a room with a window at 100m, sent the round through the window and it detinated at 102m. They had paper people in the room. All had several shrapnel hits on them. House to house combat would make this ideal. TXAG
  4. I have heard that the first round out of a mag that is hand cycled into the chamber will not always seat in the chamber the same as subsiquent rounds that are cycled due to recoil. I have heard this in rifles and pistols. You could shoot one. Drop the mag and unload. Do it again and see where they hit. All hit together then problems is resolved. If not, I don't know. TXAG
  5. I could just get a fanny pack. Every time I see a fanny pack I think they are packing. Definately makes you wonder. TXAG
  6. And I thought Brandy Chastane(sp?) caught hell for pulling her jersey off! TXAG
  7. If I am on the team why do I have to buy the shirt? And if I am on the team where is my free gun to use and promote "The TEAM SPONSOR"! TXAG
  8. Update on my 2000. I have sent it back to whoever does the warranty work on them. The shop I bought it from sent it back for me. I have had all kinds of hell getting it to feed 7/8 - 1 1/8 2.75 shells of any kind. I might expect this from a gas gun or a 3.5" gun but a 3" recoil gun. I don't think so. It feeds AA shells the best "of course", but will not feed any of them reliably. I hope I have it back before teal season starts. Guess I might have to rely on my old 3.5 870 for dove and teal! Will post update if I ever get it back. TXAG
  9. I have been looking at reviews of many gas and recoil operated guns. I have to friends who guide goose and duck hunts on the Texas coast. BOth told me I would be sorry if I bought a Super BLack Eagle. Both said they were POS's. I can't believe that but they both had them and both got rid of them. I like the 11-87. Guess cause it is a Remington?! I like the looks of the Xtrema. Talked to a friend of mine who owns a local shop and works on all types of shotguns. He said the Xtrema wasn't bad but that he preferred the 11-87? I don't think there is a straight foward answer to this question. I am not a Winchester fan. I have shot an X2 and it seemed alright. Browning Gold, basically the same gun. I have seen where people think the 11-87 is out dated technology? I also have a problem with Benelli's lack of decent customer service. I have heard horror stories on getting things fixed and parts for them. I don't care if I have one that never breaks, I won't support a company who doesn't support their customers. I will keep researching. Thanks for the input guys. TXAG
  10. OK, I have searched and found no helpful info. on 3.5" shotguns. I am looking to buy one and don't know enough about them to decide. I know some of you guys that shoot skeet, trap and clays also have 3.5 for hunting. I think I want a gas gun over a recoil. What I am really wanting to know is which is the most reliable and durable. I really am a Remington fan first. But, Browning, Winchester, and Beretta also make nice gas guns also. I have read that the 11-87 3.5" is a big POS(couple of guys opinions, or any truth?) The Beretta Extrema looks nice. Winchester and Browning, basically same gun? I have heard bad things about Beretta(benelli) customer service? I will be using it to shoot skeet, sporting clays, and trap as practice for what I really am buying it for, waterfowl and Turkey. I really like using the gun I hunt with for practice. OK, to the point, which is the most reliable in the field(water, mud, dust, extreme temps)? Which will hold up better in the long run? Price is really low on the list. I am the "you get what you pay for" type. This shotgun will be for turkey, waterfowl and lots of practice shooting skeet and trap with cheap 2.75" shells. I hear companies advertise that their 3.5"s will run 2.75, 3 and 3.5 shells with no problem. I haven't seen that to be the case. Thanks for the info guys. TXAG
  11. definately have all work done prior to hard chrome. Once that is done it is ver difficult to mill anything. I have a .45 that I am waiting to send just because I haven't decided whether I am finished with it or not. TXAG
  12. Yes, but even +P is pretty weak compared to major loads in open guns. I have seen them for sale at Wal Mart. TXAG
  13. Wish I could say my G35 was accurate. So far 5" at 25yds would be a blessing. TXAG
  14. I do commercial electrical work and my company(that I work for) runs about 200 cordless drills. We are VERY hard on the drills. We have tried them all over the last 8 years. Craftsman, DeWalt, Milwakee, Makita, Bosch, Metabo(sp?). I would have to say that Milwakee cordless drills are gutless POS's. They are not made for industrial use. Craftsman, don't even bother if you want a serious drill. Metabos are crap as well. I have had the best luck with Dewalt and Bosch. They hold up well to abuse and are stout. I don't care for the 18v anything. They are to heavy for continuous use in an 8 or 10 hour work day. 14.4v are ideal for the work I do. I lean toward DeWalt because I have used them the most. As for recip. saws, I like the Milwakee corded saw. Blades are easy to change and they work well and hold up the abuse. Have not tried the cordless Milwakee saws. As for any 110v tools, I like all the Milwakee stuff. If I had to buy a combo kit for a do it all, I would have to go with the Dewalt 18v package. Drill, recip. saw and circular saw all in one. I know I said 18v is to heavy but they do have plenty of power. In conclusion, DeWalt first, Milwakee second, Bosch third only because I haven't used the Bosch stuff enough to give it a really big thumbs up. TXAG
  15. I use an adjustable office chair with a back and no arm rests. I can get close to the press and it adjusts to fit the press. Also doubles as my computer chair. TXAG
  16. The Shooters bag is really to big for me. It was the first true range bag I bought. I have a tendancy to fill up what ever I am carrying. That means lots of weight. I suggest keeping it light. Carry what you need. Leave the extras in the vehicle. I was carrying back up gun, enough ammo for two matches and mags for both. It gets really heavy to pack around. Keep is simple, the lighter the better. TXAG
  17. I had the same stuff in my gun after a few rounds of skeet. I soaked it with Hoppes and let it soak while cleaning the rest of the gun. One tight patch and it was gone. The chamber was the worst!? Scrubbed it with bronze brusk and Hoppes. I was shooting Federal bulk pack shells from Wally World. TXAG
  18. I shot my P40 again today. I love it. Any suggestions on a holster? I need something that can be carried in the waist band. Preferably with a clip that will reverse to give many opions or where in the waste band it can be carried. TXAG

    Zen this!

Now I know why I haven't checked out this topic before. Kinda reminds my of my philosophy class in college! TX where am I? What time is it? Who am I? AG
  20. Krylon now makes a paint that bonds to plastics. Comes in many colors. Haven't tried it on grips but sounds like a place to start. TXAG

  22. I need lots and lots and lots of high cap pistol mags. Mags for guns I don't even own(YET!). I will have to look through what was actually banned and see if there is anything I need. Prices should come down. Glock mags for LEO are something like $15. I don't think they will drop that low but we can always hope. TXAG
  23. We always(most of the time) have a chrono set up in one of our bays. I wouldn't have a problem asking someone to "test" their load if I thought it necessary. We provide one for shooters to test their loads. Not everyone has a chrono so this is just another service we provide to our local shooters. TXAG
  24. Don't set it to far away, you might have a chrono perforation problem. I personally have never shot one but have seen it done. TXAG
