Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I live on the central east coast and I use nothing but Bullseye or Win-231 for all my pistol or revolver loads except magnums. They both meter well in my Dillon.
  2. I use the KISS method myself.. A small note book with Date and all info about that load. I change anything I start a new date with all the new info. My cartridge holders (cases) all have the date, name of powder, and how much tapped in them on a piece of paper. Works for me..
  3. So far as being old is no problem if stored right. I shot some WW-II ammo a couple of months ago and it worked just fine. So far as shooting others reloads, I just don't do it and I do not offer mine to anyone. Just me.
  4. I treat new brass the same as old brass. Inspect, light spray of Dillon Lube, and into the hopper of my 650XL. I have found bad cases many times over the years in new brass.
  5. As long as you are that far from the max load for that cartridge I would load up and see if that cures it. Just stay within the recommend limit. Good luck.
  6. Any tumbler is going to have a certain amount of dust. It's just the nature of the beast. You can take a bucket and fill about 1/3 of the way up and stir in some Simple Green. Add about 300 or more cases and soak them. Stir up about every 15 minutes for about 1hr. Remove the cases and let them air dry in the sun for awhile. They will not be bright and shiney but they will be clean. It does clean the inside of the case better than any tumbler. I just never cared for this method of cleaning my brass.
  7. Some very good information and thanks for sharing the video with us. Your points are well taken.
  8. I have always used Winchester 231 and it has served me well. Here's their page: http://www.accuratepowder.com/data/1000.htm
  9. With the use of lead bullets to much crimp will often loosen the bullet within the case. With the bullet seated in the case it should measure .470" to .473" at the mouth of the case. That is SAMII specs for the .45ACP. All you want to do is take the bell back out of the case mouth. Hope this helps.
  10. My daughter went through that class and it was great. Many of the ladies that shoot in our league took it also. I got to watch the last day of it and I was very impressed with it. I highly recommend it to all the gals.
  11. Ruger 10/22 is the one I would go with. I just got my grand daughter a Cricket and if she takes to shooting I'll get her a 10/22 for sure.
  12. Welcome from the swamp. Enjoy...
