  1. A friend just set off a primer last week on his LNL AP. CBC brass. I sort out CBC and S&B.
  2. If I'm not trying to conceal it I sure wouldn't be giving up barrel length!
  3. I'm not getting the 19x. It seems to me Glock got it backwards, it should have been a 19 frame with 17 slide. For carry it's harder to hide the grip than the barrel.
  4. Thanks Patrick for your videos, always enjoy your perspective. I don't think I've ever seen so many accolades for a new cartridge. Federal seems to have put together a great cartridge and and great marketing plan :). I'm hoping to put together one later this year. Probably a JP barrel. It will be for PRS style matches, might as well go with the 22" to get the most out of the round?
  5. Are you using mixed brass? What are the head stamps of the ones not passing? I use a case gauge rather than the barrel. CBC brass caused enough rejects for me that I now sort it out ahead of time. The problem was at the base of the bullet and you could see scuff marks from the case gauge. I've read that the CBC case wall is thicker than others, which makes sense.
  6. My glasses are the same as Dogtired mentioned above. I think it's called monovision, right eye corrected to front pistol sight, left eye for distance. I have an Eotech on the rifle and it's worked well out to 300 yards. I did try an upper bifocal once for the pistol, along with the normal lower bifocal, when I brought up the pistol I'd see three sets of sights. Gave up on that idea.
  7. I'll second the Hornady one shot suggestion. I just give it a quick spray in my brass container and then shake up the brass. If I have a lot of brass I might give it a second spray and shake. I don't remove it after loading.
  8. Mike Seeklander has some good stuff: http://blog.shooting-performance.com/how-to-become-a-3-gun-competitor-on-15-minutes-a-day-and-a-shoestring-budget/
  9. Where are you finding them? I bought a bunch from Graf's years ago but haven't found any lately.
  10. I started out with Remington UMC, I was happy with the brass. I don't know if it is still the case, but I've bought WWB in the past that had WCC brass with crimped primers.
  11. I loaded 10,000 9mm on my LNL and only 2 failed to go bang at the tail end probably due to high primers. I was using Magtech primers and mostly Remington brass. Now I switched over to Tula primers and mixed brass and high primers are driving me crazy. It seems WIN and S&B brass are the worst. I've got the shims on order, hopefully that will help.
  12. A shooting buddy had this happen last year. He found it when it locked up the cylinder in his revolver!
  13. If you aren't belling the case mouth enough you might be shaving off a bit of the bullet jacket. Look closely for a small strand of copper right at the bullet/case juncture.
  14. I just started reloading a couple months ago. I considered the t-track but figured I would spend to much time digging small parts out of the track. I came up with this adjustable height mount. I have three 'receivers' mounted to the bench.
  15. Same thing here with the Walmart Federal, probably 3-4 no joys per box. I found some Winchester AA on sale and haven't had any problems with that.
  16. I picked up mine off Gallery of Guns. I requested an email notification when they came into stock. I went through 3 iterations of notification and re-requesting before I snagged one about a week ago.
