  1. You unload all mags between stages? If true that a lot of loading and unloading while trying to pay attention to the stage and trying to help out.
  2. I guess step one would be to buy a timer... LOL
  3. I don't shoot USPSA but I think one would be fun to shoot especially with a can on it.
  4. What is the PCC rifle of choice? I would like to get one myself.
  5. I've only shot a handful of matches and I also shot in a Level 2 match. I also had a huge number of A's but I was slow as molasses. So my score was not very good. I sucked a USPSA and I don't shoot in matches anymore.
  6. I was at one of the local ranges and a LEO gun guy was trying to help his two friends (LEOs obviously not gun guys) get ready for their annual re-qualification. I am no shooting stud by any measure but I do decent. These guys looked like they hit a B-27 with a 9mm shotgun. I couldn't believe it. They saw me shooting and asked if I was in law enforcement and I said no I am just a guy that likes to shoot.
  7. I am one of those guys you are talking about. I tried USPSA. I shot a handful of local matches and even a Level 2 match. I sucked at it. D Class shooter. It is a lot of time and money to invest. I didn't see the fun in it like others said they had. The USPSA guys go to a practice on a weeknight and then go to a match on the weekends. Plus driving 1-3 hours to get to/from the match. Thats more like an all day job on a weekend. I still have my belts, mag pouches, race holster, mags and STI Edge. I can't seem to bring myself to sell that gun. I did it because my friends were. Matter of fact, four of us shot together and now only one is left shooting USPSA. I even quit shooting altogether for several years. I have recently picked it up again and also started reloading again. (I hate buying ammo) I am currently shooting a Glock Indoor Match series. It is way more laid back and no running and gunning. A group just had their first IDPA match not to far from here and I may go and try to shoot that. And I think you guys are correct. Most gun owners like own guns but not shooting all the time....
  8. I was a D shooter and only shot a handful of matches back in 2013. I shot in the Gator Classic that year with 3 friends of mine. I had a lot of fun and still have one of the stage posters in my office/gun room. However I never caught the USPSA bug and have not shot in a match since then. Go and have fun. Some of the guys here are amazing shooters.
  9. I quit shooting for several years. I just attended a Fighting from Concealment class to refresh myself on that. I sucked at USPSA. I tried it for a year or so. I could shoot very accurate but i was slow. I even shot at a Level 2 match in 2013. The Gator Classic. Out of the four of us that used to shoot together only one continued and now he is a B or A class shooter.
  10. I am even worse, I have an STI Edge and I haven't been to a match in 5 years.
  11. I just ordered a SilencerCo Octane can and I would like to reload for PCC. I have seen people shoot subsonic 147s for both. Precision Delta has 147 FMJ and 147 FMJ Flat Point. Anyone know if one is better or worse for PCC or suppressors? Thanks
  12. I am currently using a Lee U Die (40S&W) in station 1 of my 550. It seems to be rough on the press and the handle sticks on the upstroke. I assume its the narrower case stuck on the powder funnel. For this reason I was considering a Redding GRX push through die to use on my single stage press. Does anyone have the same issue with the EGW die? I know they are really Lee dies.
  13. Make sure ever station is full when your measuring/setting up your OAL. If your setting up your OAL while just using the seating station, then once you start cranking out the rounds and using all the stations (most importantly the sizing station), the OAL will change. Your OAL should stay with a +/- .001. Unless your seating die is seating the bullet off the O-GIve and not the tip of the bullet. In that case, I'd have no idea, but deviations would go up, since handgun bullets just aren't made that precise. I will try this... Thanks. I am loading SWCs and had to swap the seating die around from RN.
  14. Anyone have trouble with OAL varying on a 550b? I am trying to seat to 1.185" and I see it vary from 1.180 to 1.190. I keep trying to get it perfect.
