Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. A slightly late reply, but here we go nonetheless... I had the same problem with the rear sight on my Shadow. This is what I did to fix it. If you remove the rear sight, you'll (probably) find a slightly recessed area under the sight, where the tiny set screw had to lock on into. I found that somehow the screw no longer managed to grab hold of the slide. I took a small strip of metal, made sure that it didn't protrude above the recessed area and glued it into same. Then I put back the slide and tightened the set screw again. It looks as if this did the trick, but this is as yet untested; this I will attempt tomorrow, at a match, which kinda sucks... Good luck! Cheers, Frank.
  2. Four wheels may sometimes be handy, but two wheels are enough. Here's my baby:
  3. Time for a quick update (and my apologies for taking my sweet time)... Here's what I ended up doing. I ordered the following parts from Dillon's website: 22028 (small primer pickup tube) 22030 (small primer magazine tube) 13657 (small primer cup) 13757 (small primer punch) 20241 (9mm conversion kit). When the shipment finally arrived (the Dutch customs office sucks) I disassembled the press (and kept this document nearby: https://www.dillonprecision.com/docs/SDB_Pg_4.pdf), replaced the large primer parts with their small primer counterparts and put the thing back together again. Now all that remains is to do a proper setup, but after some initial twiddling around all seems to be working properly. Cheers, Frank.
  4. My experience is exactly the same. I've loaded some Starline cases up to 40 times without any visible signs of wear and tear.
  5. Then maybe the Aftec extractor is the magical component here. My Para also has one installed.
  6. I've fired a couple of .38 SuperComp cases (which accidentally got mixed up with my 9x23 cases) from my 9x23 Para Ordnance. They chambered, fired and ejected without problems, but I loaded them on a 9mm die set, so the cases probably took on more of a 9mm-ish shape than they should have had. I'm more careful now to make sure I have the correct cases when loading...

    D-Day

I'm afraid it's a world wide phenomenon. Dutch media has plenty of coverage of the upcoming Soccer World Championship, tomorrow's election and that creep Joran van der Sloot, but not a shred on the event that paved the road to freedom for our country.
  8. Bob, I'm waaaay outside the US, so the shipping cost would probably make this deal not as interesting as a local deal.
  9. I won't be loading 45, so there's no need to keep the current setup available. The press came with only the large primer system. Cheers, Frank.
  10. Thanks for your reply! I owned a Square Deal press some years ago but I sold it when I gave up shooting in 2005 (stupid me). It was an absolutely rock-solid and reliable beast. The parts on the press I just bought are nowhere near worn out; I just need some different parts to make it work for me. I also posted this question on Dillon's own forum, but I figured that this place gets a lot more visitors who are also quite knowledgeable. Cheers, Frank. --- Addendum --- A Dillon representative replied to my post on the Dillon forum. Seems my assumption is correct, provided one does not want to keep the option of quickly changing between calibres.
  11. Hello! Just a quick question to make sure I don't goof up... I just got a used Square Deal B set up for 45ACP, which I was able to buy really cheap. I want to use this beast to load 9mm, so obviously some parts must be replaced. Am I correct in assuming that I need to order the 9mm SDB Caliber Conversion Kit, the Small Automatic Priming System and some small primer pickup tubes? Do I need anything else? Many thanks! Cheers, Frank.
  12. This really sucks. I got to see RDJ performing with Heaven And Hell last year at Waldrock. Those old geezers kicked some serious butt. RIP dude.
  13. To live in the moment: the past is gone and the future has yet to come, so all there is is now, the moment.
  14. I had the opportunity to examine this holster up close last week. First impressions: it's a very well made and cleverly designed piece of kit. Gun retention is very good indeed. Despite the solid hold the holster exerts on the gun, drawing the gun is easy and fast. I know what I'm getting if my Ghost gives up the ghost...
