Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have been shooting IPSC for about four years. It seems that the longer I shoot the harder it is to get clubs to get the match results out in a timely fashion. They also have gotten slower and slower in sending classifier scores to USPSA. Anybody else having this problem?
  2. I didn't geet to go to Piru this year and just looked at the scores on the internet. What happened to Todd Jarret, he is almost last, like he left and didn't finish. Anybody got any info on this.
  3. HELP!!! I am looking for a soft sided single stack magazine pouch that holds approximatly 6 mags. They are used alot out at the steel challenge for the rimfire event. I thought bagmaster made it but they only have AR pouches. If anyone has any info would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Shot this one last weekend managed 6.28sec 64 pts. Anyone got a percentage for this.
  5. I thought this was pretty funny and also pretty amazing. Thought I would share it with you guys. A very good friend of mine asked to borrow my Uncle Mikes paddle holster to try out and see if he liked it. I gave it to him and on the second day of wearing this happened. He was clearing some shelves out of a old auto parts store that had closed down some time ago and without warning the ply wood floor beneath him gave way under his feet into the basement. As he broke through the floor the bottom of the holster caught on one of the floor joists. The holster actually held him up on top of the floor. Mind you now this is a paddle holster clipped into the pants. He was finally able to get himself out of the hole and looked at the holster. it wasn't even scratched. He told me this story and I ended up giving him the holster. I figured anything that saves you from falling 20 feet into a basement, is definitly worth keeping at least for the story. Thought you guys might like hearing a true testament of polymer holsters.
  6. I recently shot this one. anybody have an idea on a percentge? Open 11.48 sec 54 pts one mike. any ideas?
  7. I recently heard about a "long firing pin for using with a 38 super and a 15 pound mainspring. anyone know who makes one?
  8. This is for Ironman and Davecutts. In your description of the events that happened, you said the Ro did not stop you when the offense happened but after you finished the stage. In my opinion that is a fault on the RO. If he saw a DQ'able offense happen he should have stopped you right then. I would have expected that if I were sitting on the sidelines and someone broke the 180 with a gun. I also would not have made the comment that the spectator made for the fact that if he is also a shooter and he should get DQ'ed the same comments might fall upon him. Just my two cents.
  9. Shot this in open today. 7.52 sec 54 pts Any idea on the percentage?
  10. I shot this today open class 57 pts. 6.17 sec. Was wondering if you guys have a percentage for that?
  11. I can really agree with PaulW on this idea. I too got caught up in the race to win and stopped thinking of my shooting as my relaxation time. I became so wrapped up in my strive to impress everyone else, I forgot to go out and have fun myself. I still practice like crazy and want to move up(I am a b open right now)but at the match I focus more on myself and less on what other people are thinking. That aside I would put my No. 1 lesson as getting comfortable with the gear you have and then with that worry out of your mind just focusing on shooting for yourself and no one else.
  12. I keep hearing about the Squirrel accident with Jerry Barnhart. What is this all about? Can anyone describe what happened?
  13. After watching numerous times I would have to say that you realized your error by passing the array and took th initiative by backing up. The only thing that I have been told at matches is that if you are going to back up you should verbally say "backing up" or something like that so the RO is not surprised and can get out of the way. I think that would have warned the RO enough so that he wasn't so surprised on the backwards movement and may have looked closer at the angle of the gun. I personally think the stage was set up where those targets could have been angled a little more so a clear shot would have made you shoot from a postition more angled to the far backstop. In my mind you should not have been DQed.
