  1. Thanks for a great match. That range is fantastic and there was just enough shade to not get completely roasted. I didn't like the orange targets. (But I plan on finding some to practice with shotgun for next year. ) I think it would be interesting to know how the accuracy scoring played out by comparing it to the raw times with stage points without using the loss of accuracy penalty or bonus. Do you think it changed anything dramatically?
  2. There are 12 bays one after the other in a line. Bring a cart or wagon and a chair. A ranger or 4 wheeler is an option but it's not necessary at all. Thanks. I think I will try Trooper class this time since I am shooting rimfire. Craig Hope you're carrying lots of water Craig. Looks like another Stockton this weekend.
  3. I've got an 18" Intermediate length gas Noveske Bbl that I run with a standard rifle buffer in a PRS stock. If I dropped in a low mass carrier, can I expect it to be reliable without the adjustable gas block?
  4. Yes, I have a fiber optic front sight. I have recognized that sometimes I lift my head slightly, but other times I have definitely rolled the top of the gun slightly inward. I've only had this barrel/sight combo for a few months, maybe some more dry practice mounting the gun is in order. With the shotgun, mostly I practice loading.
  5. This is what stage 7 looked like in the rain. It was like snipe hunting.
  6. I'm having a problem sometimes with canting my SLP w/26" vent rib Bbl causing some misses. A sponsored shooter with much more knowledge than I suggested that a midbead sight would remedy this. I was looking at a fiber optic from HIVIZ. Link Does it need to be drilled and tapped to affix it to the rib? Any other suggestions or would a different style midbead be better? Thanks
  7. Sorry if this was covered already, but is there an early registration Friday evening?
  8. This was a great match! Thanks to Ken, Larry and all the RO's. Everything went smooth and the RO's were fair and hard-working. Nice shooting with you Trapr, Jeff, and Kurt. Eric you helped me a lot with that 45 degree canted shooting, Thanks! Most everything has been covered already, but I'll say again that the 485 should have been bigger, at least 4 moa. I hope next year that we get to shoot AT the swing and not ON it! Kurt, thanks again for the ammo too. That Federal stuff is staying at the practice range.
  9. The forecast is looking grim, but this is Missouri, so the weather changes rapidly. It was in the 90's a few days ago and now it's in the 50's. Oh well, what's a little rain......and mud.
  10. There are advantages and disadvantages to all those scopes and any one of them will get you going just fine. Start with one and master it. You will learn what YOU like and dislike. Take that information and either stick with what you have or change to something that suits you better. If the Viper PST had been out last fall, I would have bought that over the Burris. However, I have had the chance to shoot the Burris out to 560 yards and I love the FOV, clarity, and the BDC. I've worked out the dope for three different types of ammo and I have a good feel for where they will hit. For ME, I don't feel the need to change right now. Like others will tell you, practicing with what you have is more valuable than anything else. I think any of those will get you going just fine. I would prefer a PST over the HS though.
  11. I was told months ago that I could "order" a blue label but they had no timeline on when they would come in. I don't have the patience to order and wait with them holding my money.
  12. DPMS had a large number of rifles on the prize table at the Blue Ridge Match. I try to support those who support us.
  13. My first time at BRM3G and it was fantastic. Thanks to all the sponsors and Andy for putting on a first class match. The prize table was great. Even a slow shooter like me picked up a gun.
  14. I've been told to expect a 500 yard flasher as a bonus and a 400 yard mandatory flasher.
  15. Supposed to be windy tomorrow, clear Friday and Saturday, slight chance of light rain on Sunday. Lookin good.
  16. On some of the stage descriptions there is a rectangle on a post with an x at the bottom. I'm guessing they are pistol targets. Anyone know what they are?
  17. Yep, if its a great deal on the gun, you can get a variety of SLP replacement barrels, including vent rib barrels. You could probably sell your slug barrel too.
  18. Yeah, but do it with matching cutoff shorts and your tshirt tied into a knot in front.
  19. If you can get access to a chronograph, check a batch of ammo in both rifles and see if yours gets a higher velocity. It may indicate your rifle producing higher pressure.
  20. Looks like I must have entered it on the wrong classifier. Thanks. I'll still take an 88%. And I'll pick up the pace next time.
