I have the same breed dog but a male "Wally." He is almost 2 years old now. Those pictures make me wish he was a puppy again. What a beautiful coat! They grow so fast!

No, that would be R.L. and TJ, I am the guy who gets blamed for them. lol I just signed on Brian Enos for the first time in a very long time. I had PMs popping up all over my screen. I was in law school for a few years. I am now an attorney and running the family corporations here in South Louisiana. I managed to participate in some matches while in school without any practice. Now that I am finished with school and starting to settle into my career, I will start shooting more matches and practicing again. I look forward to seeing everyone at the range and thank you for all of the kind things that were said about me. TTYL Blake -

I just got back from the World Shoot and signed up for the match. I'll see all of you there. It looks like it will be a fun match. -
This is very sad news. I send my deepest condolences to his close family and friends. I will keep Steve in my prayers.

US Nationals Results

Rumor has it that a prop (I think the loungechair on Stage 12) snagged his gun... I was standing on the stage when it happened. It didn't hit the chair arm, he just jumped up so quickly that his unlocked Ghost holster let it go. It landed on the seat of the chair--talk about out running your gun. Sad to see it happen. Troy Troy is right. That is pretty much what happened. Time stoped when I went to draw the gun and all I had was a hand full of holster. The only good thing about the situation was that when I turned around the gun was pointed perfectly down range. That is the first time I have ever had problems losing the gun with that holster but I should have had it locked. With the great match that I was having, it is a big lesson that I had to learn the hard way. I like Troy and all but take it from me, you dont want him signing your stage score sheet, lol. The biggest bummer about the deal is I was told that I lost my spot on the limited US team for the World Shoot. Oh well, I'll try harder next time. -
LOUISIANA STATE MATCH

I'll be there. I talked to Max the other day and he said he was going to try and make it there also. -
I have been shooting Dave's guns for 5 years and YES, I pay for them. I can shoot any gun I want, but I buy Dave's guns. About his sales staff, if there is a problem he will take care of it. And his sales staff doesn't build his guns, Dave does. I'm sure there are alot of gunsmithes out there that build good IPSC guns but I can recommend Dave from experience.

This is kinda funny because when I first saw the video I noticed the same thing about my start. I had a talk with Max M. about this a while back at a different match and we agreed that leaning forward instead of taking a step back was a more affective way of leaving a start position. This is what I try to do from most start boxes because I can set up and balance my weight like I want to. The exception is when your heels and feet are together and in line like in the start position in the video. When I was on the line, this was going through my mind. How was I going to take off without stepping backward? The lean forward just didn't feel right so I decided to just go ahead and do what was more comfortable. Stepping backward along with drawing the gun and mag at the same time felt the most comfortable in this case. So basically I agree 100% with what SmittyFL has to say about this but I am also interested with what BritinUSA said about Eric's start position. I would like to go back on his video and study his start to see if his way is better.

2004 Area 6

Bob, I went with the Tilleys last year to a place called Kobie's Steak house. It was the best food I have ever eaten. It was so good that we ate there two nights in a row. They cook all of the food in front of you there and its not expensive. I look forward to going back and eat there this weekend. -

Does anyone know if the match is full yet? I am thinking about attending but am not sure yet. Thanks for the info. -
It was a good match. Travis and I fought it out to the end, and I was satisfied with the results . I was squaded with a few BEs, and am now able to match a face with online screen names. I was impressed with the way Steve and Matthew shot. I even picked up a few tricks on how to shoot some of the stages from them. Does anyone know when and where the match results will be posted? I am curious to see how my brother, Ridge, finished.

Well Steve I just got a video tape in from Area 2. The RO seemed to be a little over 10 feet behind me when the last shot was fired with no obstacles such as walls in the way. There were obstacles earlier in the stage that could have buffered the sound of a shot. But it is not a certainty. 1) I think the faster time for the second run can be credited to me just shooting faster splits but there was an extra two shoots fired on that run so that is not a sure answer. 2) I should have had the targets scored no matter what the case was and had the Range Master decide. That was my mistake, don't know what I was thinking. I just accepted the ROs call and gave up a perfect run. Hey give them credit, the ROs are right sometimes, lol. 3) I don't know what you would consider an improbable time. I have proved that improbable times can be achieve at match when a certain other GM shooter challenged the fact (sorry no names). Steve, you saw this yourself at the Factory Gun Nationals. At Area 2, TDean and I were the only ones in the 16s on that stage. Everyone else shot 18 or higher. I wish they would have made me reshoot my last stage, lol. I need to learn how to keep both hands on the rifle next time, lol. Oh well, I learned my lesson. Congrads to Dave Sevigny for whipping my ass.....

Thanks for the help guys. Fortunately when I reshot the stage I improved it by 1/2-3/4 of a second but everybody knows this could have really went the other way. I would have really been upset if this would have been the case (reshoot curse). I didn't question the R.O.'s call about the mandatory reshoot but was just curious what to do if this ever happens again. Thanks for the information. Special thanks to Vince for citing specific rules. Lynn, Yeah the back of the plane wasn't a great place to be. I was forced to listen to the flight attendent's life story and problems, lol. Plus all the orange juice spilled off the shelves when the plane landed. TDean, I like your idea about the timer. Your idea about the timer reminds me of the new CED timer that is coming out soon. Of what I hear, it has a small portable display which the clipboard holder has to record the time immediately when the shooter finishes so he doesn't have to run with the RO. This will also stop added time from a bumped timer by the RO after the stage. I am suppose to be testing this new timer soon, I will see how it works out. Also I believe before you shoot a stage you should tell the RO in advance, "Hey my splits are fast as hell, hold the timer really close to my gun" lol This way you don't run into any missed shot problems by the timer, lol.

What is the rule for this situation. When a shooter outruns a Range Officer while completing a course of fire and the Range Officer(knowing he was unable to keep up with the shooter) looks back on the timer to review the number of shots fired. The timer shows one less shot fired then the course of fire requires. What does the rule book say about this? Time stands because its the responsiblity of the Range Officer to record an accurate time? Mandatory reshoot because of a flaw in the scoring? BTW this happened to me at my last big match and I was forced to reshoot a perfect stage. Just wondering if the Range Officer made the right decision. Thanks for your help. (Just curious) "What iF" situation: What if the competitior fires a few extra shoots but the Range Officer thinks the timer didn't get the last shot?

I think that the point series needs to be reanalyzed and improved some. Does anyone agree with me that there are some flaws that need to be fixed? For example: Too many match requirements, More point series matches in certain regions of the country, not being able to substitute a higher level match for a lower level match missed, etc.. What do you guys think about the current system?
