The .45 will require more powder than a .40 at the same power factor. I think has to do with the larger muzzle diameter.

The type of lubrication will not have much effect on powder residue. Powder and projectile will.

If you decide to use one, keep an eye on it. Wore out shok buff can cause malfunctions.

I run a 10lbs spring in a 5" sight tracker with no signs of wear after thousands of rounds.

A smaller diameter will have more pressure than a larger diameter everything else being the same.

I have a 10lbs recoil spring in a 40 single stack. I use an aluminum shok buff. I have been told that the recoil spring is only there to hold the slide in battery.

Is there a disadvantage to running 10mm magazines in a 40 gun? It seems like I could load to what ever length with that set up.

Did you use small pistol or small rifle primers? I was able to buy several pounds of N310. I have had good luck with 200gr projectiles and N310. However, I have several thousand 180gr projectiles on hand that I would like to use with this powder if possible.

The feed lips might be out of spec on the magazines. The magazine springs might be weak. I had the same problem with my 40 single stack. I changed springs and adjusted the feed lips and they drop free no matter how many rounds are left.

I tried various lengths. I have since had the issue resolved. My smith put the mags in a vise and squeezed the top of the mags. They all drop free now.

How long are the system mags? How far do the stick out of the magwell?

I have a few of the Wilson mags and they do not stick out past the mag well. What base pads are recommended that will stick out past the mag well?

The lyman solution works fairly well. Lemon Shine also works well.
