Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. From a couple years ago, 80ish sections, cattle and sheep, alfalfa, wheat, barley, oats... plenty of work!
  2. Fuel pumps are accurate at any volume, pressure, and temperature. You're not getting robbed as long as they are calibrated. MT requires annual tests of all revenue meters (gas pumps, scales, etc.)
  3. They are always telling us to save fuel at work, but 3 gallons to the mile is the best I can get, although thats not too bad considering I am pulling 36 million pounds of coal.
  4. I just used Birchwood Casey Super Black Flat Black touch up pen on mine, perfect match.

    No Choke?

Lead and plastic are softer than the steel barrel, its not going to kill the gun. I've seen guys screw a thread in a few turns and forget about it, then take the shot, there goes a $100+ choke tube. It happens. I've managed to always have a choke tube in my Krieghoff, even if it isn't the right one for the sport!

    Shotgun for wife

I agree, a 12 gauge is the way to go. I load 1oz at 1200 FPS for Trap and I can shoot at least 10 rounds before the recoil wears me out. Whatever autoloader you get, don't get a kinetic gun, they have more recoil than a gas operated gun. I've shot both and its easy to tell the difference. My trap league is about 150 strong, and at least 30 are women, with another 30 juniors, so we've got plenty of recoil sensitive folks and only the youngest shoot 20 gauge. I believe the 20 kicks worse, because the guns are so much lighter. The 28 gauge is the way to go for the recoil shy.

    which barrel

The receivers are the same between the Magnum and standard so you should be fine.
  8. Nice! I wanted to build an Open gun with mine, but I haven't gotten that far yet! Its got potential though!
  9. Here is mine: SSS Magwell, TF extensions, Apex guts.
  10. I mostly shoot USPSA, and 19/2011s are the king in most of the clubs I shoot at. I'm the only one shooting a Limited M&P, but they are gaining ground, there are a lot of Glocks in Production... I've never handled a Glock that had as nice of a trigger as the M&P, not even a tuned up Glock.
  11. That must be a Cabela's special model, I didn't know S&W did that, its sharp though!
  12. Apex Tactical is very hard to beat. I have their full competition setup in my Limited M&P 40 (not pro) and their Duty setup in my 40C carry gun.
  13. I didn't have to modify the legs on mine, the 140MM extensions, they hold 20 without issue.
  14. I load on a MEC 650, which is a manual indexing progressive that doesn't size the base. Thats okay since I have a seperate sizer and only need to size the steel based hulls. I picked mine up for $100 and sent it to MEC for a refurbish, it runs great and I have no problems with it. I only shoot about 10k shells a year. I can put any Winchester or Remington hull in and it will turn out perfectly. The local Trap guys load on MECs, Dillons, P/W, and Spolar and all like them and have no big problems. I didn't care to spend a lot of money on a press, I reload to save money - not brag. I make my own shot and my reloads are about $2.25 a box. The clays don't know they difference.
  15. You'll be hooked, as TD says, "wood on wood, eye on the bird" everybody will know when you aren't, because you'll miss the birds and have a bruised cheek. The 1100 Remington is a good gun for all the shotgun sports.
