  1. Is anyone using Lil'Gun for 300 BLK? Back when I was compiling components, this was the only powder that I could find that had 300 blk. load data. According to the Hodgden web site, the starting load for the 110 gr Hornady V-Max is 18.9 grains, however when I load this amount it practically fills the case to the top, I've been reloading pistol for five or so years, but this is my first attempt at rifle reloads. I know for all of my pistol loads, the powder never comes near the top of the case.
  2. Ia anyone using the CCI #41 primers for 300 blackout? Due to the shortages of almost everything, all that I could find are #41 primers and 'lilgun powder. Anyone have a recipie using Hornady 110 gr V-Max?
  3. I've been reloading 9s, 40s and 45 acp for about a year. I shoot a lot at an indoor range which does not allow lead bullets, so I've been using Zero and Montana Gold jacketed and Rainier plated, all reasonably proced and with great success. I just got a 45 long colt single action, and want to load for it, as factory ammo is ridiciously expensive. I understand that 45 ACP bullets are .451 diameter and 45 LC are .452. I gan get .452 lead bullets cheaply from a number of sources, but the few .452 jacketed 45 rounds out there are very expensive. Can you load .451 230 gr jacketed round nose in a 45 long colt?
  4. Sorry, posted this question in the wrong forum
  5. Does anyone have a good load for Zero 124gr FMJ using Bullseye?
  6. Thanks everybody. The problem is the primer cup, I didn't change to the small one.
  7. I'm new to reloading. I started with .45 ACP with very few problems. I recently started loading .40 S&W, and about 1 out of every 20 primers is seating sideways in the casing. I'm using a Dillon 550B, Wincheser small pistol primers, and yes, I did switch out the primer feed tube to the small one. Any suggestions?
  8. I'm relatively new to reloading and have been reloading .40 and .45 on a Dillon 550B with great success, and having a lot of fun doing it. I'm thinking of loading 9mm, but was told that because of inconsistencies in the SAAMI specs, various brands of 9mm brass require different die settings and that 9mm brass should be separated by manufacturer when reloading. This seems like a pain, and I really don't want to have to readjust my dies for each brand of brass. Is this actually necessary?
  9. I have a C&R and bought four or five WWII militiary rifles through Gunbroker. All transactions went smoothly. One word of caution, read the descriptions and look at the pictures carefully. Some descriptions are more telling in what they don't say than what they do. Don't be afraid to ask the seller questions.
  10. Any load recommendations for 180 gr FMJ and HP?
  11. Anybody using Zero bullets? The jacketed ones seem pretty cheap compared to the brand names. I bought a few thousand .45 acp in 230 gr. So far, they seem to work fine. I also bought some .40 S&W 180 gr, hollow points and truncated cone, both jacketed. Does anyone have a good load recipie for these bullets? I'm looking to get recoil similar to factory target loads (UMC, Winchester White Box, American Eagle, etc). I tried loading with 3.7 of Clays with an OAL of 1.155, but they're a tad too soft. I'm a beginning reloader, and don't want to load too close to the max.
