  1. If I were to design a new aftermarket stock for the ruger pcc, I would love: 1. An adjustable comb height. (It is currectly just too low) 2. Longer forend that has more ‘meat’ on it. (I keep touching the hot barrel on accident) 3. More vertical grip angle (no pistol grip, I live in CA!) 4. Move the mag release closer to the trigger to enable faster, strong hand, reloads. (Not sure if this is even possible). 5. Larger/flared magwell 6. Keep it light.
  2. Ever heard of the term, "you've been Botached?" I hear that at best, they drop ship everything so it takes a while.
  3. Thanks for the above advice, loading .308 for precision shooting. notice an improved average OAL with the whidden toolhead and set screws. Can get oal's of 2.800 to 2.802 using the same headstamps.
  4. I HAVE the casefeeder and his old 550 and love it too! I get an occasional case not want to go into the sizing die properly and i haveto wiggle the handle a bit to get it to go. after talking with Dillon, they are sending me the adjustment tool and things should be cleared up. I havent been lubing my brass so i just leave whatever is in the feeder up there til the next time. Ill trun it off when i see the primer rod getting close to being empty to drain out whats left in the tube. If i need extra, i can just drop a couple in the top to finish the run off. Ive got an old blanket covering the casefeeder to drown out a bit of the rattling brass. I saw another post about doing it and started it from the beginning and the noise is quite manageable. The only problem i have is when a random piece of .40 brass get stuck in a .45 and i dont see it and it will jam up the CF. with the little part on the bottom, its an easy fix tho. What is that adjustment tool? Did it work? I would really like to know, that is the only problem I have had with my casefeeder...
  5. Thought this was apparent: improved consistency with bullet seating, OAL, case resizing. More like a single stage, but with equipment I already own. I love my Dillon!
  6. Looking into making the dillon 550 more precise with bullet seating/ case resizing for 308. Anyone have experience with the uniquetek's setscrews for the toolhead? Does it work? There is a fair amount of wobble, which doesn't bother me when loading for pistol. Thanks in advance for the advice. I am looking for every way to keep using the 550 if I can...

  9. Thanks for the advice. I will start ordering some of the above bullets/powder...
  10. I was wondering the same thing. thanks for the input!
  11. Finally finished my AR with a jp upper from shooters connection. Anyone have opinions on the best load for this rifle? Thanks in advance! Jav
  12. I remember Duane Thomas's write up in the Blue Press (I think), really helpful and I agree. I guess I am not there yet, but I use the true grip or the one just like it from Chris Patty. I trimmed it away about a quarter of an inch where the webbing of my hand fits. This fits me better than removing the grip tape around the front strap. I then practiced dryfiring with the new tape setup about a month before it felt normal. The tape absolutely helps reduce my split times and increases my shot to shot accuracy, which is worth the necessary effort.
  13. helpful starting point... I am interested in reloading for my 308 bolt action. sounds alot more complicated than loading for pistol!
  14. Thanks for sharing your unfortunate experience. I am sure all of us have found it educational. I always wondered if I really could just shoot the factory barrel with some remaining lead bullets I had laying around.
  15. What's the most popular cat tail for the meopta 1-4 meostar?
  16. My dad shoots a les baer premier II 1911 and uses the older wilson mags. About after a year of shooting without problems, the mags started causing feeding issues. A local gunsmith was able to adjust the feedlips using his special lip forming tools. It's been about a year now, and the problem is coming back. My dad is interested in buying his own tool. Anyone have experience with the Brownell tools? The set sells for $90. Only one bad review on the Brownell's site. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Thanks, I want to make the most of the money I spend and not end up with a bunch of extra parts. And thank you, Brian, for all your previous advice!
  18. I am interested in building my first AR. Does anyone have any experience with this complete upper assembly?
  19. Thanks all for the very informative responses. I have always made a point to manually release the slide, but always wondered why some of the really quick shooters didn't seem to have to.
  20. I was wondering: why do some glocks automatically come forward during slidelock reloads, while others don't? Mine only does when I forcefully seat the mag, but not everytime. Is there an area on the slide release that can be polished?
