  1. All my custom builds had WMD NiB BCG's. They claim you can run them dry...they are that slick! I believe Fail Zero does the Nickel Boron coating on the Spikes NiB units. WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) is supposedly owned by ex-employees of Fail Zero. WMD also did the NiB coating for my Glock 19 (factory) and provides a lifetime warranty on the coating they put on the slide and barrel! Either BCG is Mil-Spec and the highest quality that I have used. I also used Spikes regular phosphate BCG's, before they got impossible to get.
  2. Sold my GEN4 34 and bought a GEN3 19 NiB and a GEN3 17L. Could not be happier..both run flawless. The GEN 4 just never ran as smooth or reliable.
  3. I have a new G19 NiBoron for carry, but end up shooting my 17L longslide the most when practicing at the range on the plates. It's just so easy to hit with, and my large hands fit it better than the 19.
  4. I think you would love a 34 once you shot it.
  5. Never could shoot good scores with a XDM...just bought the XDM 5.25, reworked the trigger and sold it. Back to my G34 and hi-scores. I hardly shoot my Springfield TRP anymore, as I am so accustomed to the Glock and how well it points.
  6. I love my GEN4 Glock 34...sold all my GEN3 guns. The grip fits perfectly with the beavertail adapters. Going to get a G26 GEN4 next for carry gun. Best thing Glock ever did was to move up the the GEN 4 guns. I took this to the 100 meter rifle range last Sunday, and was hitting the 12" gong (off sandbags) on every shot! The rifle shooters could not belive what a "plastic 9mm" pistol could do! LOL
  7. You can load both .45 ACP and .308 with the .45 shellplate on your 650. I did.
  8. I am setting up my new Glock 34 with a Carter Competition mount, and putting a Trijicon RMR on it. Time will tell how it stands up, but I figured the RMR would not take the beating on the frame mount verses bolting it to the slide.
  9. NORDIC/WILSON 18" Competition Stainless, 1:8 twist, rifle gas system. AWESOME barrel.
  10. These are what I am building for 3-gun matches right now. Extremely accurate...expect groups of 3.25" at 400 yards. Bottom line: I am using Nordic Wilson 18" 1:8 barrels, rifle gas systems, and Nordic's Corvette compensators. Shooting 69 SMK's over Varget.
  11. I just picked up 3 Nordic/Wilson barrels and their matching Corvette Comps...NICE quality. 18" 1:8 twist, SS, and rifle gas system. I am building 3 uppers this weekend using KIES adjustable gas blocks, YHM FF tubes, on Spikes uppers. Hope to get out to the range on Sunday and see how the first one performs..if the wind quits blowing. Here is what my builds look like and pricing...I am hearing some customers shooting 3.25" groups at 400 yards...with 69 SMK's over Varget...which is impressive. http://www.nextechclassifieds.com/listings/view/346246/
  12. I have built a couple of SUPERMATCH rifles, and sell them locally. See parts list in my add...using "top quality" parts add up quickly, but they are definetely worth every penny. http://www.nextechclassifieds.com/listings/view/346246/
  13. I'm sure there has to be users in KC area that could give you a "demo". I actually drove to Salina Kansas to see how the 650's run. Nick's Pawn shop has several 650's running that they load on daily. They shoot competitions, and load TONS of ammo with these machines. I think he had 3 set up for various calibers, and even a 1050 running. It's quite a setup. After I experienced that, I sold my LNL-AP and RCBS Progressives...and bought a new XL-650. Just ran 1000 .45ACP's thru it...FLAWLESS! If you buy the Dillon, you will get spoiled.
  14. I buy my golf clubs on E-Bay and my Dillon stuff from Brian! Reloading equipment usually goes high on e-bay...sometimes more than my local gunshop sells it for!
  15. Ran my 650 without a case feeder for a while..works fine. I just spend the $217 for the casefeeder...WOW...can't believe the difference in reloading speed. You can basically just focus on putting bullets in the cases.
  16. I find that my RCBS trays work best if I put them on a piece of plexiglass and then shake them. Primers seem to flip right away, and I get them all oriented in about 20 seconds. Plus the plexiglass adds some rigidity when you are picking up the primers with the tube.
  17. If you look at the "ultimate reloader" videos, he shows a bent piece of wire that will stop the auto case feeder from dropping cases. Pretty simple to make.
  18. I had the LNL-AP and fought the priming for 2 months. Sold it all for $400. Bought the RCBS Pro which had it'w own problems. Sold it all for $450. Just bought the Dillon XL650...went from RED...to GREEN...to BLUE! This press is designed like a progressive should be. Would have been money ahead to purchase the XL 650 from the start, and I would have a bunch of reloads that I could trust! HINDSIGHT!
  19. I am setting up the new XL650 that I just bought from Brian. I use a HD steel frame for my reloaders which I welded up from tubular steel, then lag it to the floor and wall. NOTHING MOVES...it's solid as a rock. I installed a large Acro Bin in place of the standard one that came with the 650. The only modification I made was to build an aluminum plate to support the weight of all those loaded rounds going into that bin. I supported the aluminum shelf with a long bolt that also bolts down the right rear of the press. Next I will build a "custom" bullet bin that sits on the left side.
  20. You are correct...I do all my own maintenace on my 2004 Fatboy Custome and have bought the tools I need to keep it going for many years! BTW..just got my XL650 on Friday. Brian got it right out this week. I am just now setting it up, but it seems to be in perfect adjustment and all is going good!! Everything fit great and feels like a precise piece of equipment.
  21. After reading this...and all the good things about the Dillon machines and how they take care of their customers...I have decided to drink the "blue koolaid". I got rid of the Red LNL-AP and the Green Pro-2000....and just ordered a new XL650 from Brian. I have been loading for 36 years, and used Dillon dies for the past 5 years in all my presses. Guess it was time to make the switch to all blue equipment!
  22. My Kimber USA Team Match II actually outshoots my Nighthawk Talon 5"...so Kimber must use some decent barrels in their guns. My Kimber Eclipse Target II also shot tight groups after a 200 round breakin. I put a BarSto SS match .40 bbl in my Beretta 96 Vertec and it did make a lot of difference in that gun though.
  23. I got tired of loading ammo that was missing primers also. I had to dremel some of the shell holder slots that were too tight for .45 ACP. Very inconsistant machine work on my LNL-AP. Indexer would jam about every 35 rounds and had to be "helped" to next notch. I sold the LNL-AP and will be ordering a XL650 next.
  24. I really like my AICS...dropped in a R-700 it and shoots "lights out". I priced aftermarket stocks..bottom metal..AICS mags...custom bedding..etc. Turns out you can probably buy an AICS for less, and it does not require bedding. I can take the barreled action out of the stock and replace it and zero is same. Cold bore shots are only 1/2" out of the group. Adjustability is great. Fits in a shorter AR type tactical soft case. If you don't like it, these stocks sell fast and you recover your investment.
  25. I just bought one..it is a NEW model for 2011, and is listed as the Fluted Stainless Synthetic VARMINT. Cost me about $700 w/tax. It is a .308 w/26" stainless fluted barrel. I sold the cheap stock and upgrade the X-Mark pro trigger to a new Rifle Basix 2# unit...then dropped it in an AICS 2.0 chassis. Gun shoots 1/2" to 5/8" groups with my handloads. Barrel is very smooth and does not show any copper fouling after initial 50 rounds. I shoot 168 SMK moly bullets over Varget. You will really like how smooth the stainless bolt/receiver is. I did lap the lugs, but they didnt' need a lot.
