Arredondo makes some +0 extensions that work well.

Thanks for the shows, I've enjoyed watching them.
-
Welcome, there is alot of good shooing available in Florida!
-
I would say under 4" @ 25y is acceptable for ipsc.
-
I bought a pact 4 from brian a few years back and it has served me well.
-
160 Bear Creek 9mm would not stablize in my glock 34, with stock barrel.
Very soft shooting but tumbling at 20 yards is not acceptable.
-
Just picked up 8k 147 Bear Creek at $60/k from a local dealer.
You can contact Bear Creek and find out if you have a dealer nearby. He always seems to keep dealers stocked.

Pencil it out.
You know best your round count, value of your time, and cost of local factory ammo vs. reloads. There are alot of factors that are based on what you can get, local price, etc.

When my kiddos go with me to range or want to look at the guns from the safe,
I always go over the 4 safety rules. Then we talk with about what could happen if they are not followed.

Welcome!
There is alot if good opportunities for shooting in wa and or.
Check out uspsa.com

It pays to experiment. Guns vary on what they will like.
My glock 34 likes over size moly bullets. I currently use a .357 158 moly that gives me 3" at 30 yards. Soft shooting at 130 pf.
No leading, no mess, no fuss.
In another friends 34, they shoot crappy. Test and find what works for you.
Good luck.

Never give up, never surrender.
I love it.

Yup,
When it was slow, I use to sort range brass at my old job.
The safety officer complained to me thinking they were loaded rounds. I finally gave up trying to explain and I gave her a piece of brass and told her to throw it at me, stating "That's all the damage empty brass can do." She just looked at it and walked off.
Then I threw a couple of pieces at my co-workers for fun...

I like them for my glock. Same angle, same trigger pull.
I use it when it's mucky out/don't want to brass in the mud. Or when I haven't loaded some ammo.
It's a nice option to have.

My suggestion would be to look at revolver.
IRC in California 220+ shooters
2010 uspsa nationals ~20 shooters
What could we do better? I think some small changes could open up USPSA revolver. I would buy a revolver and shoot in USPSA if 8 shots were allowed. But 6 shots on up to 8 shot arrays is not fun imo.

zero, our gun club drove off the leadership.
But that's ok, they treat everyone like that. No one gets to use the 7 outdoor pistol bays at all. They will sit at the clubhouse and TALK about shooting all day long though.
Fortunately, North of us, is one of the most active sections in USPSA, so we head there.

.358 158 gr Bear Creek. 2.8 bullseye, 1.150
Soft and 2.5-3" 5 shot group at 30 yards.
My most accurate load yet from my 34 with a stock barrel.
No leading and minimal smoke.

Yup you can watch or shoot (if you are ready), watching is free and you just need to bring ear plugs and eye protection.
Match starts at 9 am. I recommend showing up at 0830 then signing in/pay first at the pistol building.
Match costs $17 but I think there is a discount if you are a junior.
Then there will be squad sheets on the tables inside where you sign up. Sign up on one of them.
They will have a shooters meeting at 9ish right outside the building then the squads will break up to their bays to start earning glory.
They use different bays but will be the ones down from the stat shack or around the back. It depends on which size they need. We usually shoot 6 stages, on 6 different bays.
If this is your first USPSA match, I would recommend talking to Mike McCarter (match director) and he can help you out in getting started.
Also, anything I can do to help, please ask. Look forward to meeting you.

I will be there.
Say Hi if you have a chance...
My real life name is Trey Allen. Just ask around I'm a regular at arpc. Please do come and shoot with us at ARPC.
I'll also be wearing a BE.com shirt.

We have a great gunsmith/machist here locally that charges flat rate of 25/hour for machining.
He has done alot of open/limited/steel builds. And his turnaround is fast.
He could probably send you some pics of his work.
Just holler if you want his info.

Welcome!
My shooting buddy and I travel all over shooting in our great state.
There is alot of great shooting to be done in Oregon.
Just holler if there is anything we can do to help.

A G34 upper on a G17 lower wouldn't be legal either. No, nobody would be able to tell, but it wouldn't be legal. R,
Just wondering...
What is the difference between a 17 and 34 lower?
-
Welcome Eric!!
You are in the right state and season for shooting. Spring and Summer in Oregon is great.
I regularly shoot USPSA at Albany. There are also ton of great matches coming up.
This weekend is the Man of Steel. www.orss.org I highly recommend it and EVERY shooter gets a nice knife from the prize table.
Also check out columbia-cascade.org and we also have a new forum for NW ipsc shooters @ www.ipscnw.ning.com
I'm also a glock jockey for the last five years. I would be willing to help however I can. Hope to meet you on the range soon.

I have had good results with moly 9mm (147's) and bullseye in my glock.

The only plastic ones I've seen are the arredondo ones. All, except glockmeister, +0 extensions, work fine and are of decent quality. Good luck.
