  1. It pays to experiment. Guns vary on what they will like.

My glock 34 likes over size moly bullets. I currently use a .357 158 moly that gives me 3" at 30 yards. Soft shooting at 130 pf.

No leading, no mess, no fuss.

In another friends 34, they shoot crappy. Test and find what works for you.

    Good luck.

  2. Yup,

When it was slow, I use to sort range brass at my old job.

The safety officer complained to me thinking they were loaded rounds. I finally gave up trying to explain and I gave her a piece of brass and told her to throw it at me, stating "That's all the damage empty brass can do." She just looked at it and walked off.

Then I threw a couple of pieces at my co-workers for fun... :roflol:

  3. My suggestion would be to look at revolver.

    IRC in California 220+ shooters

    2010 uspsa nationals ~20 shooters

What could we do better? I think some small changes could open up USPSA revolver. I would buy a revolver and shoot in USPSA if 8 shots were allowed. But 6 shots on up to 8 shot arrays is not fun imo.

  4. Yup you can watch or shoot (if you are ready), watching is free and you just need to bring ear plugs and eye protection.

Match starts at 9 am. I recommend showing up at 0830 then signing in/pay first at the pistol building.

Match costs $17 but I think there is a discount if you are a junior.

Then there will be squad sheets on the tables inside where you sign up. Sign up on one of them.

They will have a shooters meeting at 9ish right outside the building then the squads will break up to their bays to start earning glory. ;)

They use different bays but will be the ones down from the stat shack or around the back. It depends on which size they need. We usually shoot 6 stages, on 6 different bays.

If this is your first USPSA match, I would recommend talking to Mike McCarter (match director) and he can help you out in getting started.

Also, anything I can do to help, please ask. Look forward to meeting you.

  5. A G34 upper on a G17 lower wouldn't be legal either. No, nobody would be able to tell, but it wouldn't be legal. R,

    Just wondering...

What is the difference between a 17 and 34 lower?

  6. Welcome Eric!!

You are in the right state and season for shooting. Spring and Summer in Oregon is great.

I regularly shoot USPSA at Albany. There are also ton of great matches coming up.

This weekend is the Man of Steel. www.orss.org I highly recommend it and EVERY shooter gets a nice knife from the prize table.

Also check out columbia-cascade.org and we also have a new forum for NW ipsc shooters @ www.ipscnw.ning.com

I'm also a glock jockey for the last five years. I would be willing to help however I can. Hope to meet you on the range soon.
